Best homemade kimchi in town. True Korean dishes served by the sweetest married couple. Their little side dishes vary each day and it's all made in house. It's always such an exciting visit trying new things and getting a bit of everything with friends. They have 2 beers on draft, different Asian beers in bottles, and soju!! My favorite dish is the soon tofu soup when it's on special. The atmosphere makes me feel like I'm eating dinner in someone's home, it's cozy and inviting, and Katie is seriously the best host. You have to order their kimchi, share their seafood pancake, and try their bulgogi!!

We stopped by here recently. It's newly opened and has a nice selection of Korean dishes, including jjajangmyeon and jjamppong. We ordered the dolsot bibimbap and the soon dubu special. Both came out piping hot. The spice is tailored for a milder palette, but if you like spicy you can ask for it to be adjusted. Service was quick and friendly. Banchan was great. Will be back to try some other dishes.

Kimchee Fried Rice

Kimchee & Rice is so good! The kimchee is fresh and flavorful and pairs well with any of the meat dishes! The kimchi fried rice had really great pork belly on top. Katie (the waitress/ server) is so kind and she makes an effort with each customer!!

Everything was spectacular! Service was great and friendly. Our group couldn't decide what our favorite was because it was all so delicious - the ramen was awesome. Bulgolgi was on point, so was the fried chicken but the galbi was probably my favorite as it had the perfect char. I'll definitely be going back especially in a group. Definitely give this place a try!

This place is FIRE! Finally tried Kimchee&Rice and I'm so glad I did. The Korean fried chicken was crispy perfection, and those BBQ ribs? Absolutely next level - tender, smoky, and glazed to perfection. But what really made the night was the service. The staff treated us like family and made sure every detail was perfect. Pro tip: They sell their house-made kimchi in jars to take home! We grabbed one and it's been the perfect addition to every meal since. Amazing food, incredible vibes, and service that goes above and beyond. Portland, you NEED to try this spot! Already planning my next visit!

Kimchee and Rice is the best Korean food I've ever had. Everything was delicious. The owners are so friendly and were extremely generous in sharing stories about the food. Just the sweetest place ever!

Ordered on uber eats and forgot my banchan $3. Won't refund. Very disappointed as I was looking forward to this. What I received was a small takeout sauce container of radish. Whether that's considered the "banchan" or the daikon my jajangmyeon was supposed to come with, I'm missing an item. The description is extremely misleading and scam like. I called the restaurant and said that's what it was. Wouldn't refund and rude over the phone. Stay away from this place.

I was too engrossed in the book that I was reading and completely overshot my stop on the 4. When I got off on Mississippi Ave I looked across the street and saw this Korean restaurant open in between Pistils nursery and Broder. I walked across the street and stepped inside. The place was clean and inviting. I walked up to the register and was greeted by a friendly elder woman. I asked her if the place had just opened and she said it was the 3rd day of their soft opening. I ordered the kimchee fried rice with pork belly. The fried rice has a nice spice at the end and was pretty tasty. The service was quick and I would definitely come back and try more of the menu! I am so happy there is finally a Korean restaurant on Mississippi!

When I went the first night I got the shrimp pad Thai and it was the best pad Thai I've had in a long time. So full of flavor and fresh ingredients. I also got the hazy IPA from the local brewery, Backwoods. When we came back later in the weekend, my spouse got the shrimp pad Thai since I sang its praises. Excellent bibimbap I…read moreordered through DoorDash after finding this place is close to Matcha Premium Maiko. Good ratings and I now know why! Two bibimbaps to go: one was tofu and the other was spicy pork. Spicy pork is not spicy but looks like it is. Good taste, so it's marinated well and the meat isn't tough to chew, like some other places. I loved the spicy pork bibimbap though. All fresh ingredients! They give a lot of vegetables, which is so nice, because other places are very sparing with their ingredients. I'm usually left with so much rice at the end. However, this place did a good job giving the right amount of ingredients. They also gave a small cup of miso soup - thank you! Would get this again! My husband enjoyed his tofu version. If you're someone who wants spice, add some of the red sauce they give you in a cup. I was very happy the spicy pork wasn't spicy, but I liked being able to control any spice with the red sauce.

I definitely preferred the bulgogi. Due to too many food allergies, my choices were limited, but I loved the bulgogi and can't wait to go back. Location: This bar is on the first floor of the Hyatt House Portland / Downtown. Ambiance: Pretty quiet and chill. There weren't a lot of people there so it was really easy to get a drink. Drink options: I really loved how they circle around different local beer on tap. They also have a few bottled beer too. They have a cast amount of liquor too. Surprisingly, they had a new bottle of Hennessy when we finished the first (during our stay). Usually a lot of bars in hotels don't have it, so that was a major plus. Bartenders: We met three while we were there. All of them super kind, friendly, and informative of the surrounding area. They gave us lots of tips on what to see, eat, and drink. They were really down to earth people. Pricing: I thought it to be fairly reasonable for a hotel, however I might just be jaded from Bay Area pricing (yikes). What I loved about this bar is that we were able to just chat with the bartender. I didn't feel like I had to go back to my room with my drink (which is usually the case). I was able to talk to a few other people sitting at the bar too. Of course all from out of town, but still nice talking to other friendly strangers. They do serve food at this place, but I didn't really get a chance to try it it since there was soooo many other food joints in the area.

Flavor was good but on the light side. At least it wasn't tough. Pretty good sized portion. Also for a lychee something cocktail. That was good. We watched two tables leave without ordering. We waited until our food arrived to receive a drip coffee and a hot tea. (And when it did arrive the coffee was a cold cup of machine rinse. I really wanted what many have posted as the Hawaiian Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 spam, 2 Portuguese sausage, white rice. But it wasn't on the menu. Our server accommodated my request (thanks to the pictures from Yelpers). But when it arrived it was 3 eggs, 2 spam and rice. Overall the menu is confused. Is it a Hawaiian theme or not. Scant options is rice. Lots of potatoes. Even the condiments were confused; no soy or siracha on the table but ketchup and Tapatio. The general lack of caring by the management is what sticks with me. The sad bowl of sugar packets, jam packets, creamers and stir sticks all thrown together on the table like a mistake. But when I asked for honey or soy our server had to go to the kitchen and get side dishes of these. C'mon y'all. Pay attention to the details. Your customer sure are.

The bulgogi bibimbap looked delicious and came with two sauces, the gochujang sauce and a spicy mayo sauce. I didn't care for the spicy mayo one, but I wish we had more gochujang sauce as there wasn't enough to mix into the dish. Over all it was tasty, and given it was a food cart it didn't have the crunch rice that I love which usually happens with the metal bowls and letting it sit.
