Usually I hate hanging around the bar at a hotel I stay at especially when there are a TON of breweries around the area, but this little spot kinda won my heart.
Location:
This bar is on the first floor of the Hyatt House Portland / Downtown.
Ambiance:
Pretty quiet and chill. There weren't a lot of people there so it was really easy to get a drink.
Drink options:
I really loved how they circle around different local beer on tap. They also have a few bottled beer too. They have a cast amount of liquor too. Surprisingly, they had a new bottle of Hennessy when we finished the first (during our stay). Usually a lot of bars in hotels don't have it, so that was a major plus.
Bartenders:
We met three while we were there. All of them super kind, friendly, and informative of the surrounding area. They gave us lots of tips on what to see, eat, and drink. They were really down to earth people.
Pricing:
I thought it to be fairly reasonable for a hotel, however I might just be jaded from Bay Area pricing (yikes).
What I loved about this bar is that we were able to just chat with the bartender. I didn't feel like I had to go back to my room with my drink (which is usually the case). I was able to talk to a few other people sitting at the bar too. Of course all from out of town, but still nice talking to other friendly strangers.
They do serve food at this place, but I didn't really get a chance to try it it since there was soooo many other food joints in the area. read more
