The food was pretty good. Ordered the curry chicken, egg rolls, crab Rangoon, pork fried rice, boneless pork spare ribs. The egg rolls were my least favorite. The service was quick and efficient, we ordered in the restaurant and it took about 30 minutes for the food to be ready. My family and I love Kimbos. We have had some not so great experiences in the past with other Chinese take out spots, so we were hesitant to try Kimbos, but when I tell you they are INCREDIBLE. In a major strategic error, I didn't properly estimate how many classic Florida joints would be closed Christmas Eve, and spent an absurd amount of time driving around and Yelping places that seemed promising but weren't open. I was about ready to settle for convenience store fare, but luckily found this place. The Hunan shrimp had a generous portion and crunchy, fresh vegetables, and the spare ribs were super-flavorful if potentially messy. The setting wasn't glamorous but it was a nice break from the rental car. The service was friendly and the food was prepared relatively quickly but didn't seem rushed. read more

Delicious! Can't complain about anything. Everything we ordered was great! Only snapped a picture of one item because we were busy inhaling the rest. They get busy so definitely call ahead. I got there earlier than my pickup time so I had to wait a bit...but trust me it was worth it. I've been thinking about the food we ate all week. Clean tables inside if you want to sit and eat. Awful. Ordered Mongolian Beef, it was 90% acrid onions & 10% mushy disgusting beef. They should be ashamed of themselves for serving such abysmal food . Portions were adequate. The wonton soup was GREAT! Very flavorful broth and loaded with meaty wontons. That's where the good part of the review ends. The first time I order for takeout I tried Singapore noodles and it was really good! The second time I tried seafood with veggies (very bland). Third time was worse than second the chow fun was not even cut into noodles and had mostly Napa cabbage. The chicken with garlic sauce was 75 percent celery! See pics. Just disappointing. I have ordered from here frequently and had good experiences, when in person. Tonight was horrific, when I called into order. We called and ordered shrimp and veg, got a chicken and veg. Also, when ordering, we asked what was in the veggie delight and were not told Tofu was in it (we don't like tofu). My husband went to go get it and got home, realized it was wrong... I called and explained I've got a guest who doesnt eat tofu and was never told. I also explained I'm trying to not eat meat (seafood only) for health reasons and my order was wrong. After arguing with multiple people... They wanted to exchange food. I explained I have a baby and 4 year old and can't come back. They offEred a "free pork rice next time." Which is ridiculous. Over $20 of order was wrong, and, it was later in the evening. They wouldn't reImburse, unless I brought all the food back. I guess they missed the, "can't come back," part I reiterated 3-4 times. It was like they didn't believe me. Horrible customer service. Won't order here or come here again. If you go, Recommend never ordering via phone! It wasn't the fact the order was messed up. I get it, mistakes happen. It was how I was treated, that made this a game changer. read more

I really don't like leaving negative reviews for anything and always try to find something positive to say but unfortunately I can't seem to think of anything I (or anyone in my family) liked about the food at Kimbo. All of our dishes were simply bad. They were all bland (even the dishes that were supposed to be spicy, they had no spice at all), the chicken and broccoli was undercooked with huge pieces of nearly raw broccoli and that awful gelatinous goo in place of sauce. The egg rolls were burned, the fried rice didn't appear to be fried and had the texture of parboiled rice, and the steamed dumplings were so thick they were also raw finishing with the dumpling sauce being so bland you literally had to soak the dumpling to get any flavor (everywhere else I've had it, it's so strong a tiny dip does the trick). Sadly this was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. read more

I have had good meals here earlier this year. Maybe there has been a change in staff since. Two visits ago, I found that some of the snow peas in my chicken with snow peas entree were rotten. I gave them one more chance yesterday because I didn't want my boyfriend to go out of his way to the only CONSISTENTLY good Chinese restaurant I know of in the area (Hong Kong Super Buffet on US 192). When I opened the container, I found nearly all the snow peas to be rotting with brown spots (see photo). Would have gone back to return, but my boyfriend picked up the food in Rockledge and brought it to where I'm house sitting in South Melbourne Beach - probably a 40 minute drive. I noted the amount of chicken in my meal was significantly less than what I have received from many other Chinese restaurants when ordering the same quart size entree for decades now. So, $9.95 plus tax for a few small "shaved" pieces of chicken, a couple chunks of carrot...and a pile of rotten snow peas. I don't eat the rice, so I was left hungry. We also discovered that the fried dumplings I ordered were not in the bag, but again, it was too far to go back. I find it stunning that a restaurant would think it is acceptable - or even wise - to serve obviously rotten food, especially in a climate where online review writing/reading is quite popular. Even if they were surprised to find their supply of snow peas to be bad after I hung up from ordering, there is a Publix in the plaza, less than 50 feet away. It would have been fine even if they had used the smaller frozen snow peas - just not rotten ones! I hope that saving a few cents by not tossing rotten vegetables is worth a terrible Yelp review to Kimbo owners. Would have preferred to give zero stars, as so many on Yelp say. Tried this place since it is close to my home and the quick service. Customer service was good and it only took 5 minutes from the time we ordered to when it was ready for take out. The food, on the other had, was less than k to be desired. We ordered the sesame chicken with fried rice. Not sure how it tasted since we got orange chicken instead, which tasted ok. The sweet and sour chicken we order for the kids was good and got large enough position to split with 2 hungry boys! We also got the pot stickers (which some might call "gyoza" -they were stuffed with an unidentified meat filling" steamed (not pan fried) and served with dipping sauce. This does not live up to the typical American Chinese cuisine found in other restaurants. If you are looking for good take out, consider taking out from another place. Residents of this area are fortunate enough to have three superb options for Chinese food: Red Ginger, Tely's and Kimbo. All have their distinct advantages. Red Ginger is the highest quality, but it comes at a steep price. Tely's has the most original menu, but that doesn't help when you're looking for traditional Chinese options. And therein lies the awesomeness of Kimbo. They are the only one among the three with high quality, traditional options and very reasonable prices. The combination plates are unbeatable at around $8-$9 for a complete meal including entree, fried rice and egg roll. We are big fans of the orange beef and the general tso's chicken. Also, the steamed diet menu rocks. Try out Kimbo. You won't regret it. read more

Just ate at this restaurant, I don't know how it got such good reviews. It was one of the worst Chinese food I have had in a decade. The bourbon chicken was so bad my wife spit it out and said it had a fishy and or gamy taste to it. We won't be eating that or anything else there. I had the General Tao's chicken it was just ok, but it's the first time I have ever had it made with all white meat. The fried rice was not fresh you can tell cause it's to dry. Placed an order over the phone, and the food was ready very quickly! Their general tsos is my favorite, the sauce is slightly sweet and still has a kick. They also have great Lo Mein, so tasty. Would definitely recommend this place. The only slight disappointment I had was with the gyoza, or fried dumplings.
