    Hunan Shrimp
    Josh B.

In a major strategic error, I didn't properly estimate how many classic Florida joints would be closed Christmas Eve, and spent an absurd amount of time driving around and Yelping places that seemed promising but weren't open. I was about ready to settle for convenience store fare, but luckily found this place. The Hunan shrimp had a generous portion and crunchy, fresh vegetables, and the spare ribs were super-flavorful if potentially messy. The setting wasn't glamorous but it was a nice break from the rental car. The service was friendly and the food was prepared relatively quickly but didn't seem rushed.

Delicious! Can't complain about anything. Everything we ordered was great! Only snapped a picture of one item because we were busy inhaling the rest. They get busy so definitely call ahead. I got there earlier than my pickup time so I had to wait a bit...but trust me it was worth it. I've been thinking about the food we ate all week. Clean tables inside if you want to sit and eat. We will definitely be coming back soon!

    Great wonton soup!

Typical strip mall Chinese food restaurant. Yelp reviews said it was the best in the area so I called in an order. Ready in ten minutes (great but tells me everything is precooked). Portions were adequate. The wonton soup was GREAT! Very flavorful broth and loaded with meaty wontons. That's where the good part of the review ends. The lo mein, steamed dumplings, fried rice, and sweet and sour were all bland and flavorless. All but the soup ended up in the trash.

Great food and quick service!…read more Having ordered an assortment of things across many visits, I can recommend: - Spicy wontons - a MUST. They have a flavorful spice and aren't TOO spicy in my opinion - Any noodle soup dish. They are comforting and good flavors and plenty of protein! A quaint and minimally decorated spot, nestled into a un observing strip, this gem could easily be missed. After seeing their menu online, we threw on our clothes and drove as fast as we could have a feast ! And what a feast it was !!! Our server was very attentive and helpful with making multiple decisions and the bubble teas were fresh and sweet and delicious . (Looking forward to when they have all the flavors available) We started with a bowl of warm and hardy curry soup with delicate glass noodles and flavorful broth. We then shared an order of the Chashu pork bowl with marinated egg. It wasn't as crispy as I'm used to...even a little gelatinous, but boy did it have the most amazing flavor. As a texture person, it didn't slow me down one bit. We also got some crispy fried wings that were perfectly cooked and juicy inside, and crunchy fried scallion pancakes (one of our favorite street foods) Then came the soup dumplings. The best I've actually had anywhere. Delicious broth with deep flavor, wrapped in a steamed wonton with tons of seafood meat inside. The pork and chive dumplings were crispy and soft all at the same time, bursting with juice and flavor. With such a large order, we had food to eat for days, but still have so many things left to try and cannot wait until our next visit!

My son gobbled it up. 4 stars - Atmosphere: big room with lots of photos of visitors on walls (featuring many astronauts), dim sum baskets on the back wall, and red lanterns hanging from the ceiling. - Service: very nice waiter from China and saw Tely eating at a back table towards closing time Midlights: - Sizzling steak: steak was tender but an odd texture and the sauce was very salty. 3 stars - Fried rice: bit plain and pork wasn't the cha sui pork I was expecting. 3 stars - Lemon chicken: chicken breast pieces were large thin slices but didn't have much flavor in the sauce. 3 stars Lowlights - Black bean sauce fish: I've always had this with a white fish and believe this was salmon which I don't care for. 2.5 stars - Very popular so need to make reservations way ahead of time. To be clear, it is not top dog, but worth going out of your way to eat there. Buffet always has shrimp PERFECTLY COOKED every time we go (and we go frequently) It is a working person's buffet so you will dine with construction workers, lawn people, and regular folk. They have the same offerings every day and have perfected making each dish. Must be boring for the chefs but wonderful for the diners. The only thing that needs improvement is the Hot & Sour soup. It lacks some spice and has too much thickener. Egg Foo Young and all the standard Chinese American dishes are done well. Also has To Go containers. The broth for the Won Ton soup is so good and "healing" we use it as our go to cold medicine. The staff rarely smile but are the same ones who are always there, at any hour on any day. They do their job, they just have no joy in doing it. Closed Tuesdays. Kitchen staff work fast to replace food on the buffet. Great hard, hand scoop ice cream. Watermelon is flavorful. Main dishes consistently good. Try it. Price is reasonable. Considering what most restaurants charge now days, the price is EXCELLLENT which is why we can go on our fixed budget and why so many working people eat there.
