I had a pricey shrimp dish and the shrimp were over cooked and the breading way over cooked to the point of being hard. First time order Shrimp Peiking. The presentation was not good. It not spicy which is fine but I felt like I ordered an onion mixed with tomatoes rather than with Shrimp. They should let the customer know how much onion will be in this dish. They couldn't describe the dish to me when I asked and I decided to give it a try. All was good except the sesame chicken and orange chicken. They made them exactly the same but just put sesame seeds on the sesame chicken one. Both sesame chicken and orange chicken were 95% fried breading and most pieces had no chicken just fat from chicken. Buyer beware not to get anything fried it is all fried breading with chicken fat. Everything else was great. Do not buy the fried foods and you will be good. It's a shame because chicken is so cheap... Why not just use more chicken? read more

I TELL MY FRIENDS NOT TO GO HERE. I live about 1 mile from this place. Since they opened the food is horrible, the service is rude and they almost always screw up a take out orders. I recently had the awful experience again. Had family in town, they wanted to surprise me with dinner. I dared ask where they got the food. It was Hop-Bo. We had 3 types of chicken, General Tsos which they ordered XXX SPICY), it tasted like sweet and sour chicken. My guests wondered out loud if this could be some other animal OTHER than a chicken. It was BLAND, literally NO TASTE. I mean NONE. The other 2 chicken dishes were horrible, again because they lacked ANY discernible taste. The egg rolls were soaked in oil as usual. The white rice was like biting into little white rocks it was so hard. The fried rice was ok, again not much taste. I would give zero stars. This was one of the disorganized places I have ever seen. We ordered for pick up and we're told 30 minutes. We arrived st the time and nothing was even started. And there were many others who were there and also ordered and were waiting because their orders were not started until they arrived. While waiting, other people came in and ordered and walked out in minutes. When we finally got our food and went home, it was missing one of the ordered meals. It was a fiasco. I ordered one cashew chicken stir fry. It cost $9.99, It came out as a mostly vegetable dish with some chicken. The vegetables were machine shredded onions, carrots, and green bell peppers which were wok cooked with too much water and I saw them add just a packet of premixed spice. I think premixed spices can be bought for most Chinese dishes at Asian grocery stores. When just a packet is added to water and the veg, the veg turns out mushy and boiled. The chicken also tasted boiled with too much water. And these packets make the dish very bland (tastes kinda like bland soup). Many Chinese people come to US and open carry-outs but they are not cooks. They just use the cheapest vegetables they can find at walmart, add a little frozen chicken or beef and one of these packets they use and serve it to you as if its authentic. Anyone can do this at home. Good stir fry is great when done right. When we go out we expect something authentic and interesting. Price was very high for mushy bland vegetables. Most Chinese carry-outs in my area are bland and mushy with low quality veg and frozen meat and bland sauce. They all use the credit card print out that lists an area for a tip. Do we need to tip for carry-out? I used to love Chinese food :-( read more

Ok, I'm writing this review while we are all still hot about our experience a few weeks ago. We placed a big order and picked it up and when we got home realized that they called to tell us they forgot something. After going through the bag, we found they left out several things and had a couple items that we hadn't even ordered. After calling them back and going through the agonizing process of trying to explain what they had done wrong, we headed back only to find that they expected payment on the item they had left out. I'm sorry but if I have to make a 2nd trip because of their mistake they should be throwing in extra Chinese doughnuts, not charging me even more. So we ordered a pretty big order. Went and picked it up and as we were getting everything out we received a call from them. Apparently they made a mistake and in error they gave us too much food. He then proceeded to ask us to bring the food back so they could give it to the right person. Then asked us to meet them halfway. Sorry not happening. They demanded to come and pick up the food we were given in error. Okay so I get it. It wasn't our food and we didn't pay for the extra they gave us. That's not the point here. Here is what is so upsetting. 1- this was THEIR mistake and the way they treated us was abhorrent. They basically accused us of stealing from them when it wasn't even our error. 2- they cannot redistribute this food. By LAW they MUST throw this away. Them being so adamant that they come and get it makes me believe they will 100% give this food to someone else. This is NOT the way to run a business. This is OK! I'm comparing it to its predecessor in Melbourne which was my favorite Chinese restaurant until they changed chefs. Since that time, the food there has lost that little extra something as far as tasty Chinese spice even though it is still better than the others around. This new incarnation maintains the menu and does a better job with flavoring. Portions are great and the prices are quite fair. Even though not touted as "New York Style", this is extremely suitable to northern expectations. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

They didn't seem to understand what we were saying and just seemed un friendly. The pan that they cooked the food in mustn't have been cleaned because the lo mein tasted burnt, it was also really oily.
