My friend and I came here on a weekday for an early dinner, really excited to try their jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk. We got the jangban jjajang for two (which consisted of stir fried black bean sauce noodles with prawn, squid, and vegetables) and the tangsuyuk (which was deep fried pork with sweet and sour sauce). It was definitely a lot of food and we were both stuffed by the end but I found that the taste was lacking. The jangban jjajang was flavourful and salty but I just felt that there wasn't anything too special about it. We both found the noodles very oily and slippery with some seafood, cabbage, and onions. The tangsuyuk had an airy almost chewy consistency to the fried coating, not the crunchy kind that I like. Service was very kind and excellent but I don't think I would return for the food. The store itself was clean and spacious. Their Google review average is quite high but I did see incentives for a food reward if you left one.

Had a lunch gathering here with relatives. The name change was expected, but it still felt a bit strange seeing it in person. We were genuinely excited though, mainly because of how much we enjoyed the Steeles location before. We went with our usual picks to keep things familiar. Sweet and Sour Pork and Gochu Yuringi for sharing, and I ordered the Bokkeum Jjamppong. The stir fried spicy seafood noodles never really disappoint me. I always debate between this and the soup version, but somehow I keep coming back to the stir fried one. It feels like the essence of the soup is condensed into the noodles, though I would happily go with the soup version next time if I am in the mood for something cleaner. The fried dishes were solid overall, but this is where I felt a bit let down compared to the Steeles location. The frying here did not have the same balance I remember. The batter felt slightly heavier, and there was a faint burnt oil note that I usually do not notice at the original spot. That lighter, cleaner crunch was something I really appreciated before. Despite those small setbacks, I would still come back. That said, since I live closer to the first location, I would personally stick with Steeles if given the choice.

First visit to this Korean-Chinese fusion spot, and it was definitely an adventure. Interesting concept, you order your food on an tablet attached to the your table. You can find your utensils (chopsticks, spoons and tissue) in the drawer that is on the side of the table. I ordered based on the common photos posted: - Sweet & Sour Pork: Meh.. Not your classic Cantonese version. The sauce was salty-sour, almost plum-like with veggies. Unexpected, but I'd be open to trying a different take next time. - HK Jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup): Ordered regular spicy, hoping for flavor depth. Instead, the heat took over -- we drained a whole pitcher of water. Lesson learned: sometimes less spice means more taste. - Black Bean Rice with Omelette: Ok..though the omelette was a bit dry. The black bean sauce saved it, and the side soup echoed the Jjampong's spice. Manageable, but still fiery. -flower bun with sweetened condensed milk: yummy...the buns were fried well. A nice crispy shell and a nice fluffy bun on the inside drizzled with a sweet sauce just finished it perfectly. Overall: Flavors are ok! heavy on the spice, and a fusion twist that keeps you guessing. I'll be back, but with a milder order and try other dishes. The portions are reasonable, we couldn't finish and had it taken to go. The staff love kids and gave us 2 full size lollipops, which the kids enjoyed very much for dessert. I would come back again to try some more dishes and give a better overall review.

UPDATE: They recently changed their name to Kim's Noodle. This restaurant is an exciting new addition to Midtown Toronto, bringing delicious Korean-Chinese cuisine to the area. Guests can enjoy a variety of hearty noodle dishes and fusion specialties, including favorites like Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). With a relaxed atmosphere and modern conveniences such as electronic menus at each table, it's an inviting spot for diners. Plus, it's conveniently located just minutes from Eglinton subway station. We loved the friendly service of the chef and staff.

You walk up a goldcolored hallway and 2 flights of stairs before reaching the restaurant. The host stand is farther inside.....which will make sense once you are physically in the space. The workers were very friendly and funny. I had a great time bantering with them. My friend from 8th grade and I reunited for the first time in 21 years over dinner. This was one of her picks, and I am deeply grateful she chose it. Appetizers: Rock Shrimp, Fatty Tuna Nigiri, Crispy Rice Tuna Entrée: Jidori Chicken Drinks: Sangria, Champagne Dessert: Yuzu Citrus The rock shrimp was delicious. We loved the sauce it was tossed in. My friend is not usually a shrimp fan but she polished it off for me. The fatty tuna nigiri was great, as expected, and the crispy rice tuna was phenomenal. The Jidori chicken was delightful. We loved the sauce, and the mashed potatoes were pillowy. I did not have the sangria but my friend said it was the best she had ever had. The yuzu citrus dessert came with strawberry gelato and cookie crumbs. The gelato was not overly sweet and the yuzu was perfectly tart. They also put a little "Reunited" note on the dessert plate, which we both thought was such a sweet touch. Definitely pricey, but definitely worth it. Recommended it to my Toronto friends, I really want to go back and get that king crab rice.

It's a gorgeous setting and has a complete vibe of luxury. I thought the tacos were yummy, but the meat didn't feel special like you expect when you hear waygu. It also wasn't as earthy as I've experienced with waygu, but I didn't really mind that. I also got the Brother From Another Mother roll and really enjoyed that. All The dishes are very aesthetic and enjoyable. I was surprised at the end with a little birthday treat. The service was attentive but not overbearing, and I'd definitely go back.

The staff helped us through the menu and gave us recommendations, and was so kind and fun to chat with! I had gotten the chicken katsu and my friend the beef tartar bibimbap. Both came with amazing portions and we had food to spare. The katsu was perfectly crispy, and the house made sauce was perfectly seasoned and amazing! It also came with apples and salad on the side which was a perfect pallet cleanser. The bibimbap had a great variety of toppings and everything was seasoned well. When thoroughly mixed, everything bite had a bit of everything and it was delicious. On top of the food u get when you order, the meal also comes with 6 different sides. There was 3 different kimchi, braised potatoes and 2 others that I'm not sure what they are, but they were delicious. My favourite was the potatoes and kimchi! Overall this is an amazing place to bring those close to you for delicious korean food!

Hence we entered Jin Dai Lae. Good decision (yes, I am patting my back). Entree pricing was $3 to $4 lower than Markham/Richmond Hill. Portion was so big that you would be full, and might have to doggy bag. Most importantly, food tasted good. Short ribs stew had many pieces of beef. Squids hot plate was saucy. It wasn't too spicy, so it was good for me (menu didn't have a chilli sign either). For people who like it hot, you can ask for some chilli sauce.
