I went in Saturday morning without an appointment expecting it to be busy. After 3 hours my mani and pedi were finished. The time spent there would have been fine if I would have left with quality work. My toes are fine, but my nails are lumpy, poorly shaped, and not painted all the way. While my polish was curing the nail tech literally walked away without giving any direction. I finally realized that they were at the front waiting for me to pay. I'll keep this review short and sweet- the salon looks fantastic, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is nice...but I don't think I'll be back. I got dip on my nails and the woman doing them seemed to be taking extra care in shaping them. However, as soon as I walked out to my car I noticed how jagged the tips of my nails looked. I honestly had to go home and file them down myself. I should not have to do that. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I had higher expectations for such a nice well kept salon. read more

This salon pushes gel nail products! Buyer beware! If you request regular nail polish they will abuse you! Very rude people! I was given extremely poor service for a regular manicure, only to be scolded by the owner, who will not communicate in English yet can speak it fluently and then I was shoved out the door without proper sealing of the polish so everything smudged. Complete fail. They charged my credit card twice and would not resolve it and expected me to come back the next day to get my refund! They take great pride in providing an extremely extensive product line of nail products that it completely overwhelms you with excessive choices. But for some reason, it is too difficult for them to provide you with simple white pearl nail polish! They walk around the place like they are the bullying Nail Overlords of Louisville and you are an insignificant infidel. They expect YOU to kiss up to THEM! I have given them a year of regular well tipped business and they don't have any customer appreciation. I will never again waste another dollar on these nasty people. read more

I have preciously been to Kim Nails as a teenager and was disappointed but while in town last week I decided to stop in with a few women in my family. Mind you, it had been 7-9 years since I was last here. I gave them another chance. They said there was plenty of space for five of us, no problem. "Come now" is what they said. We get there and they're busy! That wasn't the problem though. Because they were busy, they decided to bounce between each of their clients, including me. This caused my tech to be very rushed and it was obvious in the quality. I'm not sure the name of the man who did my full set but while filing he cut me pretty badly then proceeded to use a dirty file. After I called him out for this, all I got was an "I'm sorry". He didn't clean it or allow me to wash my hands. I should've spoke up more but I didn't. Anyways, he continues my full set. At the end I'm looking, and I didn't really like my nails. After explaining to him what I didn't like, he replied, "oh it's okay. People from far away won't be able to notice." I'm sorry but it's not what other people think. I have to look at them every second of the day. These were my graduation nails and they looked terrible. read more

Well I walked in asked for and and Pedi . I always do french on both hands and feet . The price board displayed pin and white dip 40$. So once the very nice lady finished my ok Pedi .The tech that was going to do my nails asked what color ? I said french /pink and white .He advised they don't do that, I replied it is on your board .Then the manger repeated we don't do pink and white dip you pick a color . I responded it is oadvertised... I politely told them never mind I will go somewhere else . How do advertise a service and then claim not to do it ??? Smh read more

I came to Kim nails for a gel pedicure and regular manicure. During my pedicure the nail tech kept pushing gel polish for my manicure. I explained that i Was a nurse and my hospital had banned gel or dip due to infection risk. She kept on and on about it. I even told her they are threatening to fire people if they do not comply, but she still did not stop. I finally told her not to worry about my nails that I would do them myself. I felt completely uncomfortable and disrespected . the pedicure wasn't even good to top it off. She didn't get my cuticles or leg Massage. Definitely the worst pedicure I've ever gotten. My niece and I went to get our nails done on a Thursday night for her 7th birthday. We were running late due to traffic and got there around 7:15. They close at 8 but they were still willing to see us. We both got pedicures and she got her finger nails painted as well. We had 3 men doing our nails. The owner was very engaged and asked friendly questions. Alex did my pedicure and he did a wonderful job. He was gentle and thorough. They made sure to let our nails dry even though they were closing. Everyone was friendly. The salon is clean and they have several nail polish colors. They also have a rewards program! I am new to Louisville so had no references of where to go, KIM nails is close enough so I tried it... KIM was just plain rude spoke hardly a word while doing my nails which I really don't want to chat anyway but wow what a stone face!! Had a nail break, they had the color so I thought I'd try one more time, I walk in and get greated by a guy only to get handed off to KIM who looked like she was pissed I even walked in!! I got my nails done before a trip and they were stunning. A little pricey for what it was, like $50 for an acrylic set. But the problem I had was that once I took off the acrylic nails they smelled HORRIBLE. I have never had nails smell like this before. It's been days since I took them off and the smell hasn't gone away. I talked to a friend who's a certified nail tech and she says that's a sign of an infection...whether it be that the acrylic that was used was old or that the tools hadn't been cleaned properly. My fiancé and I went here to get mani/pedis done, although the service was quick and we didn't have to wait the service was poor for the cost. The chairs were in poor condition, covered with duct tape and malfunctioning. After we received our pedicures I proceeded to get my manicure, once finished I noticed the paint was bubbled up and asked for it to be fixed. Forr $102 for 2 pedicures and a manicure I didn't feel this a wrong request, but could tell that it was an annoying request. Instead of removing the polish from the two nails that were bubbled the technician simply filed down the raised parts and covered with more white polish, resulting in air pockets and dingy color now being where the white should have been. I don't feel that for the cost that the service was up to par. We both decided we won't be going back. read more

I usually got gel nails here, but decided to try dip nails. They charged $50! I did get French rather than just one color but still outrageous. She said they charge so much because they last longer.On top of that, they stopped accepting tip on cards. I always tip, so I had to go to my bank to get cash and bring it back. They turned out ok but didn't last long. I chipped one myself which was my fault, but 3 others chipped and one cracked within a week. I don't think I'll go back there. read more

Terrible customer service! I sat there for and hour and a half without recognition, eventually leaving. I thought waiting for 45 minutes was long but I assumed it wouldn't be much longer so I stayed. Another 45 minutes came around and still nothing. A lady walked in as I sat there, they walked her straight back to "fix" her 5 toes that had been messed up. Another lady that came in after me was called so I spoke up. I said I had been waiting and I'm being looked over. They proceded to take that women back. Come to find out, there is only one employee that knows how to do the dip nails. They clearly don't have enough staff to suit the needs of that area. Since the salon is only 5 minutes from my house, I might try it one more time but that is a huge might. They might do great nails but they obviously didn't want me to find out for myself. read more

My girlfriend and I desperately needed an evening away from the kids, the crying, and the tv. Unfortunately we weren't granted that luxury when choosing Kim Nails for a mini-retreat. Nothing was great about this place so all of its downfalls really left an impression: -they were showing a football game on all the TVs. Seriously? Women come to unwind and relax- not to watch football. We would've preferred a chick-flick or calm music. -the nail tech, if I'd even call her that, realized right away that the polish I showed was almost gone. But instead of opening a new one or having me select a different color, I watched her sneakily add thinner to it. My nails look like crap and they'll chip before the sun sets I guarantee. -I understand childcare is expensive but there's got to be SOMEwhere your kids can go. I can't stand when there are owner's kids running around, being obnoxious and playing their video games loudly. -thank you for the massage chairs..really. But when I choose my own setting, don't reach up and change it to what you think is best. Just focus on my feet. -Parafin wax treatment is an up charge. I've better somewhere else in the area that includes this service in the flat price..which is actually $5 cheaper. We will not be back. Ever. read more

Had Dee for manicure 15 and pedicure 25. Not the prices posted on yelp. What was suppose to be a fun outing with my daughter, was anything but. It was the fastest pedicure and poorest quality. She was rude in her behavior and demeanor, pushing at me that I didn't have my hands or legs in the position she wanted. Very disappointed. :-( read more
