I was fairly certain that there was a nail salon in the mall, and I was thrilled to find Pro Nails. I was able to get a walk-in for a manicure, something I had been wanting to carve out time for and now had a great excuse. The tech was knowledgeable, gentle, and pleasantly conversant. I relaxed in the atmosphere that was surprisingly tranquil despite the mall location. All in all I got a perfect 10 manicure with great service. A hidden gem worth sharing for sure! read more

I stopped in here on a self care Saturday and only had to wait about a 2-3 minutes. I had the deluxe pedicure with all the extras. And it was just what I needed. Lots of chairs and staff to help take care of multiple customers. They offer, regular polish, gel and dip options. I have my go to place for my nails but this is a convenient spot for a pedicure. Very clean facility, I watched them sanitize the stations each time a customer finished. They have 12 nail stations and 12 pedicure stations. The service was great, the color selection was plentiful, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing for my mom and I to sit back and chat while she tried her very best to control her ticklish-ness. I went to this nail salon for the very first time and it was a terrible experience. I went in and requested a manicure and a fill-in but left with only a fill-in because the fill-in quality was so terrible. All of my nails were shaped differently and they were really bulky. Two of my nails were even crooked. I asked Kim several times if she could correct the shaping and after three requests, it was still really bad. I could tell that she was getting frustrated with me and she told me that my nails were too long for her to do so I asked her if there was someone else who could help and she told me that everyone was too busy. Kim got up in the middle of my appointment and proceeded to eat lunch without saying anything to me... she literally just got up and walked away and proceeded to enjoy her meal. Kim not only did a terrible job with my nails, but the customer service was also subpar. She did absolutely nothing to correct the situation when asked multiple times. Based on my experience today, I will never go back to this nail salon again. I absolutely understand why they only have three stars and wish that I had checked the reviews before I had gone there and wasted my time and money. read more

Quite an interesting experience than what I've had in the past... While in town visiting family I decided to get my nails done and this was one of the only places that came to mind with work I could trust. Now, being that I haven't had service here in 3+ years I'm sure things have changed but I wasn't expecting them to change as much as they actually did. For starters, the nail techs were rude in their actions and responses. For example, my mother was picking her color out of the basket (b/c the male tech she had asked her to start looking for her color) and this lady came over, NO QUESTION ASKED, just grabbed the basket and took it to her client. I was honestly about to cancel my appointment after that but I decided to express to her how rude that was and how you need to ASK before snatching something from a customer that isn't even your client! Furthermore, if y'all are low on nail color pieces y'all need to make more so you're not flustered by someone else browsing the color options. Then my next issue was nail art pricing... they wanted to charge $5 for each finger for a swirl design that was ONE color. Maybe im unfamiliar with that but $50 EXTRA on top of the $55 for the full set is quite a bit much in my opinion for a simple swirl design. I can see if I wanted XL nails and bling or multi color but ultimately, I just ended up only going with these nude almond shaped nails and calling it a day... Can't say I would be returning or recommending in the future! read more

I've been going to Pro Nails for probably 15 years now. A few years after moving to their new location, they had new ownership and both of the owners care so much about their business.. They are the most wonderful caring people and they treat the customer is amazing.. I have been seeing one of the text there since I've been coming and you can always call to get an appointment if you decide to stay with the same person.. if you need nails done quickly it's a place you can also stop by if they have an opening. My technician was a nice enough lady, but I paid $47 for a dip manicure and didn't even get lotion on my hands or a hand massage. I get that I didn't have an appointment, but they were not busy when I walked in. I've never had a $20 basic manicure that didn't give me moisturizer and a hand massage. My nails look fine. But I won't be back because for the cost, I feel like I should be treating myself to a relaxing experience, and they should spend more than 20 minutes on my hands. I'm heading out of town and want to feel more together so I made my first visit here today, knowing I couldn't get into my regular salon tomorrow. The pricing is comparable and they have lots of chairs available. I was approached immediately upon entering the salon, told to pick a polish and seated in the pedi chair. Nail techs truly make or break the visit. And, I'm not a person that likes to chat a lot during my visits. I enjoy reading magazines or browsing social media while in the chair. My tech was friendly but he seemed to understand a lot of conversation wasn't required. He also wasn't pushy with expanding my services ... no gel please, no upgrades. My toes and hands look great. My tech was very attentive and complimented my color a couple of times. He trimmed and squared them as requested. I was appreciative of him slipping on my sandals and helping me buckle them! Absolutely no complaints about the service. In fact, he opened fresh tools for my manicure. I do think the shop is somewhat run down. The pedi chairs look worn and I couldn't figure out how to operate it. It was beating my back so hard I turned it off so my tech didn't get polish everywhere. I also thought I smelled a slight sewer breeze once or twice. Only while I was in the pedi chair so I wondered if the pipes are under strain. Nothing extreme - I know they get a lot of traffic but they had enough staff working to tidy up or deep clean. Instead I saw staff sitting on phones or tablets in between visitors. I won't trade my regular salon for Pro Nails, but when my schedule works best for mall hours, this is a good back up plan. read more

Was walking through Oxmoor mall and saw a salon that was taking walk-in appointments. I got a regular polish manicure and my friend got an herbal pedicure. I cannot rave enough about this salon. This is my fourth salon I've checked out in Louisville and this will be where I'll be returning. The salon is quaint with barriers for COVID-19 and mandatory hand washing before any service. It's nice to see a salon taking safety precautions seriously. The attention to detail was impressive. My Manicure took over an hour and I could not be happier with the care my manicurist took with my service. My manicurist was named Mimi and my friend's pedicurist was named Kim. They were both phenomenal. For the price, this salon could not be beat. I will be coming back. read more

The employees here are very nice, & seem to have a lot of regular clients who are on a first name basis, so I keep thinking I'll have a better experience. It's nice they can usually get you in right away. I've had 3 good pedicures here. However, have had 3 terrible manicures. Each lasts 1-2 days before half of the nails chip. I discussed this with an employee during my last visit & his response was that some people's nails just chip after regular polish. With that said, I frequent do my own nails or get them done elsewhere & they will hold up for 5-7 days. During my most recent visit I tried to tell the technician I didn't want my cuticles clipped much but there was a lack of understanding due to language barrier. Ultimately she clipped my skin & I started bleeding! Not to mention that 4 of my nails had already started chipping by that night. There is also a lot of dust/dirt on most surfaces, & the my do not actually sanitize their equipment (just pull dusty tools out of the drawer & spray with alcohol). The best things about the place are the convenience factors & nice employees. read more

I got the herbal pedicure for $65 and it came with a sugar scrub exfoliation, aloe Vera leaf massage, hot stone massage, and paraffin wax. It was a great deal especially for this area. Doesn't seem very sanitary. Tools for your nails and toes are just carried around in a shower caddy and then sprayed with alcohol before they use them. They wash their sponges out in your pedicure tub while your feet are still in it. One girl even started filing someone's nails while they were still sitting in the pedicure chair. Nail dust was going all over the chair. Staff was also taking personal calls during our sessions and texting. Poor nail polish selection. Only got 2 stars because my nails look good. read more

By far the worst place I have ever gotten my nails done. I asked for a dip manicure, and she did not push back my cuticle or file my nails. She did however slice my hand open multiple times on multiple different fingers without acknowledging it. She then took my bleeding fingers and dumped them in acetone. It looked so bad I asked her to just take it off. She then took my dip off along with my whole nail. It's been 4 months and my nails are still recovering. She also put regular polish on top of lumpy dip residue, which wasn't cute. I strongly urge you to go elsewhere for your nails. I went here and felt rushed. I don't even know the ladies name who did my nails but she sat probably abt 3 seats from the back. They don't even use gel polish with their dip which is odd but nonetheless, Service is horrible and I hated the fact that I sat beside 3 people who didn't pay before their services ended, yet the lady doing my nails told me "no honey you have to pay before I can finish". I didn't have a problem paying, I just didn't understand what she was asking for at first. It's NOT worth it, they take short cuts, they rush, and instead of soaking my DIP off, she drilled it off and claimed "this won't hurt your nail, I know what I'm doing". she even ended up filing my nails crooked then blamed it on the person that did it before. Sat for over an hour waiting for my gel mani and pedi appointment. A woman (who looked to be in her 40s) came in 45 minutes after me and was taken before me. I get that I am younger (25 years old) but I am paying the same price as everyone else and deserve to be treated with respect. I do not believe in giving my money towards age/status bias businesses, so I will not be returning--this behavior by the manager on duty is extremely unprofessional. He kept saying someone will be right with you while I waited another 45 minutes... :( so overall I waited an hour and 45 minutes to get my appointment started This salon only takes walk in clients, you cannot make an appointment ahead. Usually I am on a tight schedule due to work so this type of appointment making wouldn't be something I could do regularly. That being said the young lady and man that did my pedi and mani respectively, were extremely kind. I feel badly because I think the manager is not kind to them and likely doesn't pay them fairly. I ended up with a little bit of a bloody cuticle from it being trimmed too short but other than that I really appreciated the kindness and professionalism of the manicurist and pedicurist. I tipped them both well (I handed to them directly) and I hope the money stays with them and the manager that was on duty doesn't try to take a cut. read more

I used a discount for a free mani with one of their pedicures, so I could look nice before visiting my friend in Arizona for a vacation and celebration of her graduation. The total for a deluxe pedicure and a basic manicure ended up being about $65 before tip. This isn't a terrible price, except for the fact that it chipped within 3 days. I'm not sure if it was because of the polish, or because of the application, but I don't think either of these should be an issue in a nail salon. I was very disappointed. I expect my manicures and pedicures to last a little longer than 3 days. Especially after shelling out that much money! This used to be my absolute favorite salon. Their prices were fair and they did an excellent job. Not anymore! I always feel as if they are rushing through my manicure (which costs $35 by the way). There is one particular nail tech that is just awful and I ALWAYS seem to get her every time I go. She doesn't pay attention, she is looking everywhere else except my nails. She constantly answers her cell phone and makes phone calls while working on me. She has made my cuticles bleed on several occasions, which has never happened with any other nail tech. If she gets another client before she is finished with you she will rush as fast as she can to get done so she can get to the next client. She just slaps some polish on and barely leaves your nails under the lights (if getting gel manicure) then massages your hands/forearms for maybe 15 seconds before running to get a hot towel to leave on for maybe 30 seconds. I get that you want to make money but you should really be worried about the awful tip you're about to get from your current client. This past time I got a gel manicure and it starting chipping and peeling off the very next day. This has NEVER happened to me before. Ever. My gel manicures usually last at least two weeks before starting to look worn. Instead of going to get it redone or get my money back I've just decided to not ever go back. The nails tech was very nice and sweet explained to me how to take care my toes nails better by keeping them short during boots season, etc. At first I didn't believe the nails tech. I used to love this place and would recommend them to anyone! It's convenient and they usually do a great job. I go so often they know my name and things about me. The owner (Mimi) is a great woman and every time she does my nails she does a good job. But the past couple of times I've been there, it's been AWFUL. The manicures are sloppy and one girl took 2 HOURS, yes 2 hours to do a gel manicure and I ended up having to go back to get it fixed because it was still so bad. This time, in the past 5 days I've had to go back twice for one manicure screw up. The first time my overlay and polish just popped off within 24 hours and it was super clumpy and gross looking.
