So now, on that new morning I had alerts from my chart saying time to go to apt at 10am when appoint was scheduled for 230pm and my travel time there is over an hour. They told me i had to pay 50.00 same day cancelation fee if i still wanted to be seen in their office.. I then asked for a manager given all the rescheduling and mistakes made on their end and they told me they cant waive anything so, after a week and a half to end up like this then come here to see the other similar reviews tells me i want to be seen somewhere else so i told my Primary Care about it and they are setting up a refferal for a different provider. Upon meeting Dr. Grant two years ago for my evaluation from a back injury I had on the job that Worker's Comp. didn't do anything about he was extremely attentive listener and did a exam on me and told me what his professional opinion was of what I had. He said we had to do EMG to confirm and he would order physical therapy. He was so great during the EMG and yes for me it was painful however he was sensitive to my needs during the process. It confirmed his professional opinion of what I had wrong and we continue to treat with steroid injections. They were amazing! Shortly after meeting Dr. Grant my nausea got really bad I started projectile vomiting I started blacking out I couldn't sleep I had to sleep sitting up. I Continue do follow ups to check in with Dr. Grant to treat my back injury he was very aware and I told him I'd be sent home from the ER four times. I was having really bad migraines worst in my life and Dr. Grant referred me to a neurologist but I couldn't get in for two months and I was also referred to another neurologist by my primary care doctor but also couldn't get in for two months. Long story short Dr. Grant said come back in gave me neck injections in office and if that didn't work he would work around the medical insurance red tape to get me a brain MRI. Something more was wrong so Dr. Grant made the MRI possible because still no availability at the neurologist. I had a call 20 minutes after my Brain MRI from Dr. Grant and poor Dr. Grant bless his heart never having to do this before in his life because he specializes in a different medical field had to tell me I had to rush myself to the ER or call 911 because he didn't know if I would live. I had a huge brain tumor. Dr. Grant had called the hospital ahead of time to make sure the best neurosurgeon in the country was on my case. Can you believe Dr. Grant did all this for me? WOW! After having brain surgery Dr. Grant still did not leave me. Dr. Grant still continue to take care of me evaluate the scar on my head and give me Physical Therapy for my vestibular schwannoma even though he didn't have to do any of these things and even though he could've just given up on me and said well I gave you the referral I did my part it's up to you. I would have DIED. It's because of Dr. grants efforts and listening to me that I am alive today I am so very thankful! I can't believe I found a Doctor who I can say is actually in my corner who fights for me. BTW, the office staff is nice here however making appointments in dealing with the processes aren't all that great that doesn't matter when you have the best doctor in the world thank you Dr. Grant.

In fact, the office called and said she was ready 15 min EARLY. That never happened with in person appointments. Dr. Albrink ordered several preventative tests. Some I had not had in many years. The information was good to have. It was recommended that I no longer needed one test annually anymore. She made some holistic recommendations for some small concerns I had rather than prescribing medications. I was amazed at the quality of our conversations as well. As of now the practice is not seeing anyone in the office unless it is really necessary. Each doctor works specific days. The office staff is AMAZING. I needed a 10 day supply of a prescription until my mail order started and I was taken care of the same day. All notes were sent to My Chart (John Muir portal) the same day. She ordered lab work based on my meds. I asked for a urine test--she said they are no longer automatically part of the Wellness exam--I requested the test. My lab results had some issues and they were not properly addressed by the doctor. I called the office, wanting to talk to the doctor, but she does not take phone calls so the front desk gave me a phone appointment with the PA. The PA said I must talk to the Dr. who ordered the lab work. So, now, I have to wait another month to talk with the Dr. At least the PA did order the additional lab work. Prior to this experience, there have been issues with meds and referrals. I guess if you have no health issues, this type of care would work for you.

Both Dr. Pillai and Dr. Tong remained hostile toward me because I doubted their professional opinion. I have a new oncologist now. All of my doctors now attribute my new diabetes as a side effect from cancer treatment. I was right. It was obvious. These two doctors are some very disturbed men who become aggressive and adversarial if their poor skills are questioned and the poor skills do abound. I am convinced I would be dead if I had continued to be treated by Epic Care in Antioch. I swear that I am speaking the truth. My dad was fatigued at the appointment and confused due to some medicine. My mom accompanied him to assist him and Dr Pillai ignored her, belittled her, and yelled at her multiple times. He only wanted to talk to my dad and yet interrupted him when he spoke slowly. When my mom told Dr Pillai to not interrupt my dad he became irritable. He rudely shushed my mom various times when she was asking reasonable questions about possible treatment and timelines. I was on the phone on the other line listening to everything. English is not my mom's first language and she was trying her utmost best to understand him but he was completely unpleasant and exclaimed that he won't change his personality to accommodate patients. He yelled "We're done here!" at both my parents. Either Dr Pillai is misogynist, xenophobic, or just hates his patients. If you're thinking of going to Epic Care please look for other options or at least try to be assigned to a different doctor. Cancer is hard and heartbreaking, there's absolutely no need at all for your oncologist, of all people, to make things worse.
