Good Dr. who takes care of me. Wait times are ridiculous with every single doctor since ObamaCare so I can't hold that against Dr. Trehan.

Like Dr. Trehan however the receptionist is just plain rude. She needs training in ethical and basic manners.

I have been treated here for a while now. The Dr's & Nurses arg good but you won't have any support…read morefrom staff. The staff are very rude. They speak to you in a condescending manner at the Brentwood office It's as if you are a bother. Staff is always very busy to follow up on prescription orders which can endanger your life. Mangers are the same. Please don't endanger your health by going here.

Why? So I have pulminiary referal and they scheduled me wth their cardiologist. Fyi, i also had a referal for cardiologist but was for a doctor office closer to where i lived. I was guessing they were like this because they didnt get both referals that they didnt want any so after changing my appointment day to the day the proper doctor would be in, they apparently also somewhere along the way changed the time of apppintment too but they only said the day was changed. So now, on that new morning I had alerts from my chart saying time to go to apt at 10am when appoint was scheduled for 230pm and my travel time there is over an hour. They told me i had to pay 50.00 same day cancelation fee if i still wanted to be seen in their office.. I then asked for a manager given all the rescheduling and mistakes made on their end and they told me they cant waive anything so, after a week and a half to end up like this then come here to see the other similar reviews tells me i want to be seen somewhere else so i told my Primary Care about it and they are setting up a refferal for a different provider. Beware!!

Doctors are not in the office on a daily basis. My doctor is only in on Thursdays. It took 3…read more months to get a Wellness appointment. During the appointment, the doctor sits across the room and most of the 15 minutes is spent with the doctor fooling around with the computer app and was more concerned with getting a POLST form filled out. She ordered lab work based on my meds. I asked for a urine test--she said they are no longer automatically part of the Wellness exam--I requested the test. My lab results had some issues and they were not properly addressed by the doctor. I called the office, wanting to talk to the doctor, but she does not take phone calls so the front desk gave me a phone appointment with the PA. The PA said I must talk to the Dr. who ordered the lab work. So, now, I have to wait another month to talk with the Dr. At least the PA did order the additional lab work. Prior to this experience, there have been issues with meds and referrals. I guess if you have no health issues, this type of care would work for you.

I cannot believe how extremely RUDE the employees at this office were. I spoke with Amanda, the…read moreoffice manager and she was so condescending and horrible. I called to establish care and spoke with Sela who scheduled me an appointment for March 19th. I let her know that my insurance was a JMPN HMO plan and that I was going to call my insurance to have them post date the change of PCP for 3/1/24 since I'm currently under the care of another physician and cannot NOT have a PCP in the interim. She said that I needed to call and do that first before she could schedule me (why she scheduled me already before verifying is beyond me) she then said that the insurance needed to send them a letter with the reference number. I asked to speak with the office manager at that point and she said she would have her call me back. I then received a call from Amanda who was so rude. She said that it's her office policy that they cannot schedule until the PCP is changed on the card, even though Sela said that the insurance can post date it. She said that it's in the best info the office to do it that way. What about what's in the best interest of the patient?!! What horrible patient care. So a patient can't have a PCP while they wait a month if they have HMO insurance if you want to schedule with them. How does that even make sense. And like I said, I'm currently under the care of a physician for a medical condition and cannot be without a PCP for a month. She then said that her doctor would not treat my medical condition and that their office doesn't agree with disability. She says her doctors will only sign for disability for 2 weeks and that's it. Hmm for someone who is not a physician she was quick to diagnose and tell me what treatment I needed. I cannot believe that the doctor would refuse a medical necessity and I cannot believe that they have such a rude office manager. She also says that she's the manager so she makes the office rules and she made that policy. I asked to speak with the doctor and she said that she wouldn't take my call and that I could email. She then said "I actually don't think I even want to give you her email." So unprofessional. She then said "I'm going to hang up now because we won't be able to have you as a patient." Wow, just wow! I dodged a bullet for sure. If an office manager can be this unprofessional and the doctor allows it, that speaks volumes!!!

What I like about Dr. Kassels is that he truly cares about what he does for your health. The science of medicine moves forward at a rapid pace. So, I take it as a very good sign that he takes a look at the most recent information on the Internet about what he is prescribing, especially if it is for a condition that is less common. There were literally about 8 that he could prescribe. He carefully questioned me, then listened to my answers. His two prescriptions were spot on! I have been a patient of his for over 10 years in both his Concord and Brentwood offices. I see him every three months and do the labs he asks for every three months. When my labs results drift a bit showing numbers toward the unhealthy range, he gets me back on track. Yes, he has shown "attitude" in the past, but he has mellowed quite a bit in the past year. He absolutely knows what good medicine is -- and it shows in my health and well-being. If you want a doctor that cares about doing it right (kind of like the doctors did decades ago), go see Dr. Kassels and show him some respect. Listen to his questions and stop complaining about his wanting to see you more often or the delay in the waiting room. Your health is much more important than that!
