Haven't been here in years but we were in the area last weekend and decided to drop in. Veggie buffet looks exactly as I remember it lol. Lots of choices and the red jello is still there. Food is yummy as always and they have super friendly service. The lady that owns the place looks the same as before she never age lol. This gave me back a lot of nostalgia, will return sooner rather than later.

    Two People Special

Long overdue review. But wow, this place is great! AYCE banchan station is an automatic 5 stars. I'd give more stars if I could because the food is just as good and the portions are enough to take some home. I shared the "Two People Special" with my boyfriend because we couldn't decide what we wanted, plus it was our first time so we wanted to taste which dish they make better lol. I also got a side of Mahi Mahi Jun. The pieces of each protein was nice and thick - crispy and juicy. The presentation of the dishes were so fancy.. even had drizzle designs. Everything was fresh off the stove or fryer so we def started eating straight off the plate. The special we got is definitely enough for two people and mixed with the banchan, we still had leftovers for lunch the next day. People were funneling in and out and the owner seemed to be know almost everyone that walked in - or was so friendly that you would think she did lol. She was super nice with me and my boyfriend, even cracked a couple jokes. The place is also BYOB which is convient because it's next to a safeway lol. I want to take my family here. Definitely worth the drive to Kailua for.

    Vegetable bar

It's always a struggle to find new restaurants to eat out, especially when you're not familiar with the area. We noticed that they have a vegetable bar and that's what pretty much sold us. Not sure if other Korean restaurants offer that so we wanted to try. Once we walked in there were a few families eating. We were still able to get a table without waiting which is nice. We decided to order their Two People Special plate ($62.90). The combo comes with Kai bi, bbq chicken, meat jun, chicken katsu, shrimp tempura and white rice w/ access to the vegetable bar. Yes, that's a lot of food to take in but we were ready for it! While we waited for the combo plate, we went to the vegetable bar and helped ourselves to some kimchee, bean sprouts, corn, toss greens and white rice! They also have miso or seaweed soup that's available. You can also help yourself to sauces for the meat jun, katsu, and salads to name a few. Once the two people special plate arrived, we were in awe. So much food on one plate but it all looked so good. We first tried the chicken katsu. Crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. It was also a plus with their katsu sauce. The bbq chicken was also very tasty. Our favorite was probably their shrimp tempura. It was delicious but also made differently. While eating we noticed a tv show of the restaurant and one of the foods that was made was the shrimp tempura which clicked on how it was made. Meat jun was good and surprisingly the egg was yellower than other Korean restaurants. The Kai bi was flavorful and juicy. The best part was probably the meat on the bone. Such a great experience eating here. The staff/owners are very friendly and you get a sense of pride eating at their restaurant. The chef has multiple awards shown around the restaurant and even had their own TV show 31 years ago! Defiently worth giving this place a try when you're in the area.

I met a friend for lunch who told me about this place. It was the first time here at this restaurant. We were greeted by the staff and seated close to the Banchan self-serve bar. They had miso-soup, rice, and lots of banchan choices. The ambiance was upscale, clean, and modern. I like the booth seating tables. It had a good feeling of privacy. We ordered lunch from the lunch special menu. It was $19.99 with two choices of meat. We had Meat Jun/Zucchini, Meat Jun/Kalbi additional $6 for kalbi. I got to say everything was excellent. I enjoyed the Meat Jun sauce, which I used for everything on my plate. It was very tasty and made every item flavorful when dipped. We also had a side dish of Man-doo $8 for 4 pieces, which I really enjoyed. It had a nice light crunch and was very flavorful as well. Our order was served in a timely matter with a nice presentation. It gave us time to enjoy the banchan and miso soup. It was a great experience for me. I will definitely come back when I'm around the area.

Mahi Katsu - Meat Jun - AYCE Veggies

First time here and I love the vegetable bar. Spot on kimchee, I wish i could take a whole jar home. Got the Mahi Katsu and the Meat Jun. For the price and the AYCE Vegies I will definitely be coming back.

This is a small restruant. I love that the vegetables are buffet style and comes with the meals. The food was delicious both the meal and the veggies. The price though was ridiculous, $30 for a plate is a little insane. Especially for the amount of food the meal came with. Service was straight forward, the women who had been working there for years is very friendly and welcoming. I wish it wasn't so expensive, I'd want to come here more often.

    Squid tempura and spicy pork

We had the lunch special $21.99. The servings are extremely small. We ordered the squid tempura and spicy pork. The pork was a thin slice about 4" in length. It was cut into 2 pieces. The BBQ beef really salty, also no flavor. Its a lunch buffet so you have to get your own utensils, side dishes and water. For the price we would not return again. The portions are too stingy and the side dishes ( bachans) blah. Save your money and eat at Kimchee 1 in Kaneohe.

    Front of the restaurant

Very friendly and outgoing staff the food is American Korean but delicious and fresh. Reasonable prices and attentive service. The whole restaurant participated in singing happy birthday to a patron while I dined this is a place that loves its customers.

    Gotta get the lunch special

Wonderful, fresh, abundant servings of my favorite Korean foods. The bar with all the kimchi tofu, potatoes, and so forth was just fantastic. The food was really fresh and hot and the service was great. I couldn't finish it all. The next time I'm on Oahu. I will look forward to eating there again.

$13.99 lunch special combo. Meat jun and Kalbi (add'l $4) Comes with rice and sides.

Enchanted Lakes Kim Chee is located in the Enchanted Lakes Shopping Center in Kailua. It's near the Ben Franklin store. I came here a few times for lunch take out and one time for dinner. I always missed out on the Lunch buffets but it's not offered anymore. Ever since the pandemic they had no dined in and only take outs. They survived through the pandemic with take out only, since most of the customers do more dined in than take out. We were able to dine in this time since the restaurant started to have dine in since 11/01/22. Finally some of the Kailua restaurants are starting to have dine-in. Hard to get hired help so they were glad to have their son and his wife returned home to help the parents with the restaurant. The Husband was feature on Electric Kitchen about 20 years ago. The sign was displayed at the Restaurant as well as the Gros Bonnet Culinary Academy banner where he graduated from. The nice thing about the lunch special. It comes with the vegetable bar with seaweed soup. The vegetable bar had fried rice, white rice, bean sprouts, corn, Mac salad jello and couple of Kim chee dishes. A full salad bar with more items is offer during dinner. My friend got the bi bim bap with veggies not available from the vegetable bar but other veggies such as choy sum and some sliced romaine lettuce. My friend seemed to enjoyed it. I got the 2 choice $17.99 lunch specials and she let me add another 3rd choice (fish jun) for additional $3. My other choices was pork katsu and kalbi which was already additional $6 dollars. I enjoyed my lunch. The kalbi wasn't super soft as I expected but tasty. I like the seaweed soup and the Fried rice from the vegetable bar. The service was really good. The lady owner was really friendly, helpful and accommodating. She even talked with us past their lunch 3pm closing time! She mentioned they were closed on Sundays and Mondays. The Yelp Page was set up as Kim Chee Restaurant, I believe it's under the Enchanted Lakes Kim Chee Restaurant. Please support local. I will definitely return again. Great food and service! Thanks for reading my review:)

We originally was going to Boots n Kimo's, LOL but they were closed, so I decided to just walk down n see what places were open for lunch. Kim Chee was open ao of course we decided to stay. They are opening for "Dine In" but its Take out menu and everything served in Take out containers, hehe...Nothing wrong with that, our Waitress (whom I didnt get her name :( ) was AMAZING!!!!! the BEST ATTITUDE and EXCELLENT customer service. She was soooo bubbly... Lets get to the food...DELICIOUS!! We ordered the Lunch combo for two which included 1. Chix Katsu- not hard n chix was cooked perfectly 2. Kalbi-DELICIOUS 3.Shrimp Tempura-YUMMY 4.BBQ cooked perfectly as well 5.Meat Jun-YUMMY a whole bunch of side dishes The husbabe and I decided to get the lunch for two being that we cldnt decide on what we wanted and felt we would get more for our buck, and sure enough WE DID!!! Ill definitely be coming back especially with that greatness of service on too of the food being sooo YUMMY..

How lucky was that!? This "minor misfortune" of the long line resulted in my sampling an extraordinary Bahn Mi sandwich. I'll keep this short, and simply share that the lemongrass chicken version of their Bahn, was, as the kids say these days, "FIRE!" . I'm embarrassed to say that I only discovered Bahn mi sandwiches about 3 years ago, but have loved them ever since. The overall experience of chomping down on a typical Bahn mi is that the combination of textures that come from the marriage of "crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside" bread, and the soft flavorful meats and crunchy vegetables is pleasurable. But toss in the flavors that range from savory to tangy to sweet, and then off to spicy, are pretty-much as close to the definition of what a harmonious and complementary meal, that excites the tastebuds, should be. I've probably had 30 of them in my life, and I would say, Saigon Noodle puts one together that just moved into my personal favorite for this blended cultures sandwich. The owner served me, and he's one of those guys who you instantly like. It's hard to put words together to describe why he was so likable and pleasant, but on my visit, his "A-game" of friendliness and charm was on. But, even if he had a "Bahn Mi Nazi" personality, I'd still go for the sam-ich. It was really good!!
