They previewed the various sushi dishes that they offered & they showed an eye catching patter , great presentation of fresh sashimi. I texted the store & Dianne texted me & help put together a party platter of Hokkaido scallops, Hamachi & Ahi. Picked up @ the Kaneohe store. Seems to be the norm, if paying by card you have to pick up the 3 Percent charge& they expect a tip also, so you can expect to pay $ 20.00 plus more. It's Christmas , service was good & efficient, so felt generous! Looking to digging into the platter this evening, with family & relatives, so I will continue this review, stay tuned! read more

This is a little take out spot in the bldg between Moonga Asian and the Post Office. There are parking spots right in front and in back of the bldg. I was heading home to Kailua after going to the mall, so decided to stop by and get some lunch. The order window in right in the middle of the bldg with the menu board in front. Service is pretty good, with average wait times for food that's made to order. I know they're known for sushi rolls and poke bowls (duh), but I wanted to get a couple of their Teri burgers, so that's what I ordered, along with some fries. The burgers are a bit small, but the taste is pretty good. The crinkle fries are nicely crisp outside with a fluffy interior and good amount of salt. They do have a location in Kailua, so I'll definitely try it the next time. read more

This walk up sushi place was a find!!! Great fresh tasting sushi!! I loved the spicy pack and the Lava pack!!!! They are 10/10!!! I would recommend you stop by and try them out!! They even made the Cali pack spicy for my daughter! And they looked so good I had to steal one! The Salomon was ok but not my fav. But still good. I think my favorite surprise was they had bread pudding so of course I got it to try it out. Omg it was sooo good, I heated it up for like 15secs and I think I could have licked the plate clean. I was in the Kaneohe area and wanted lunch so I seen this place on Yelp. Thank goodness I did because I loved it! Their sign is not that big so it would be a little hard to see it from the main road as you drive. They are located on the main road right next to flyin ahi. I got their lava roll. It had tempura inside and spicy ahi on the top with sweet chili sauce on the top. It was super good. I loved how well everything mixed. I also love how they have only FRESH ahi, even better!!! I love how they cut it into small cubes rather than huge cubes. My bf got their lava bowl which had 5 choices! Yum! He got 2 choice poke, kalua pig, bbq chicken and tempura. It was super good. Wanted to try something new that I haven't had before and support local businesses while I'm in the area. They were one out of two places I wanted to check out. The pros. Lots of parking and there is a little window to order your food from. Perfect for me since I had my dog with me. The cons. Pricing was high compared to what was offered. I got a combo box and deluxe burger which was a little under $30 for both. The fish quality I could tell was previously frozen fish. However, I'm glad I got a combo box of a little bit of everything cause I really do not think I could eat more than 1 piece of the smoked salmon sushi. Everything else was tolerable. read more

The order was ready on time and looked impressive, the fish was fresh and reasonably priced for this time of the year. This location is takeout only with no seating available. Walk up window only, no drive through or dining room- no problem at all but good to know! This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. I ordered the lava poke bowl along with the sweet potato pie and WOW. If I were local I would be eating here all the time. Price can't be beat for fresh tuna. After seeing the reviews I was dying to try Local Boy Sushi when I was on this side of the island. Parking is pretty tight, I recommend placing a phone order just so you're in and out of the parking lot quickly. I got a 3 choice bowl selection with spicy ahi, kalbi and smoked salmon for $11. Portion is a lot smaller than I expected. Definitely not worth the $11. I could see the 3 bowl selection being at most $7-8. I did enjoy my food, the ahi was very fresh, the kalbi was tasty, the salmon on the other hand was alright. Also got a keiki 1 choice selection of smoked meat, meat seemed more burnt than smoked. Coming here was an experience but would probably not come back. I think a foodland poke bowl is a lot more enjoyable and kalbi at l&l is a better option and price and quality than what you get here. read more

This is one of my Kaneohe "hole in wall" lunch spots. Now, LBS has opened in Kailua next to WholeFoods. Unlike the Kaneohe location, you can enter and even sit for your meal in the few casual seats. It looks like a modern self-order system is in the coming. Digital menu board didn't make it clear how to order, so ask. My LBS bowl with gratuity and soda was $16. The LBS bowl gets you three choices, mine smoked salmon, spicy ahi and kalbi. I also added a single tempura shrimp. Yum. read more

I wish he would've gotten a larger serving than the bowl he got or that I ordered a hand roll for later. Teenagers are so hungry! He is a picky eater and enjoyed his meal very much so. He also enjoys genki and foodland poke bowls. The shrimp tempura were sliced up into 1-2 cm bits and sprinkled on top of his poke with unagi sauce. He said he would come back, so this is a winner spot. It's on the opposite side of Whole Foods. So when you park, walk by fighting eel to get to it. There was seating inside on sturdy tables. The brown rice is seasoned, the fillings are fresh and good quality. Some of the best veg sushi I've had locally. I'm not vegetarian, I just like veggies, and this can also be a test of how much a place cares about what they serve. This pack could be enough for two or three people as a snack or as lunch for one. It's a tiny mall and there is no place to sit outside nearby. However, if you are already there to do your laundry at the Washerette, might as well have a snack while you wait! The parking lot is tiny and often full - this is not their fault. Call your takeout order in ahead so you can double-park for a minute if necessary. read more

It is a little tucked away next to the road behind windward mall. There's a decent amount of parking and service seemed friendly. We decided on a chirashi and a special bowl. The chirashi comes with slices of ahi, hamachi and salmon. You get your choice of different proteins for the special bowl and I chose ahi poke, spicy ahi and kalua pig. There's no area outside to sit and eat so we took the food to the park. The portions were pretty decent and fish quality was good. I really liked the flavor for the kalua pig and spicy ahi. The food is good. Service kinda slow. If you use credit card make sure to check if you are charge correctly because they automatically add tips. My bill suppose to be $39 but charge me $47. Kinda weird. I ask the lady who working she said it's automatic tip if u no put zero. I work nearby I always go there and this the first time that happened. I always use card never got overcharged.
