The seating is a mixture of dark wood tables, chairs, church type furniture. In the fireplace were flickering white pilar candles, on each of the tables were bottles with tapered candles, really pretty touch. The menu was good, with Scottish fayre options. Between 12-2 they have afternoon tea and lunch menu. I had the homemade broccoli and blue cheese soup with homemade bread, tasty. The sandwiches were good but the onion rings were a delight, huge in size with a really crispy batter. From the moment we walked through the gigantic doors we were greeted with the warmth and hospitality of Scotland's past. The staff at the hotel was exceptional, professional and friendly. The hotel itself is so charming -- the lobby, lounge and library exude elegance and sophistication of Scotland history. Our room was clean, spacious and tastefully, historically decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was bright and clean and a nice size. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed a walk to the Invergarry Castle ruins. One of the highlights of our stay was the breathtaking panoramic view from our suite that overlooked the loch. It was simply mesmerizing and peaceful, especially during sunrise and sunset. The hotel's lounge and library were the perfect spots to unwind with a nightcap in front of a roaring fire. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel multiple days and each were excellent and exceeded our expectations in both service, quality and deliciousness. During our stay we did day road trips from the hotel and we always looked forward to returning to relax in the lounge with a drink and reflect on our day's adventures. If you are visiting the Invergarry area, we highly recommend Glengarry Castle Hotel for an unforgettable experience.

Although this bad news could not make our situation any better after wearing our unmentionables for 3 days straight....her warm hospitality and the very clean room made ALL the DIFFERENCE!!! Remember all though this establishment advertises as a castle hotel, the contenintal breakfast or Full scottish breakfast is included at no charge, like a bed n breakfast. There are Invergarry castle ruins on the property as well as a very cold river nearby in which we spotted children paddling in a floating raft as their guardians were fishing off a boat. There is a beautiful walkway on the dirt path along side the green garden but I don't recommend wheelchair users to roam on this path without supervision...too many holes and bumps. Cable channels are free, you can purchase dinner for an additional 70 sterling pounds, and the fresh breakfast is fulfillingly tasty. The view from the dining room is glorious although the weather changed from windy grey cloud skies to hail storm and then rain and then sunshine. Completely unpredictable, as expected for UK weather. Go for the experience!

Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, cooked to order, both with options for traditional Scottish dishes. We had an early travel day planned planned and ordered our breakfast the night before, when we arrived downstairs our table was set and waiting for us, our breakfast out within moments. Everyone we encountered was so kind and welcoming, you can tell this is a family that pours a lot of love and pride into their business. On our last night we were lucky enough to enjoy a Scottish whisky tasting with John! I was so impressed with his knowledge, I learned so much about whisky and Scotland. The parking lot was very spacious, rooms comfortable with a few little quirks due to the building being HUNDREDS of years old, which completely added to the charm. I can not recommend Luib Hotel enough if you're looking for a more authentic way to experience Scotland and meet some warm, genuine locals along the way.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our hike of the West Highland Way, and had the best time here! The staff was wonderful (although it's obvious that they were all horse thieves, pirates and highway men in an earlier life, they were so friendly and helpful, they made us feel very welcome). The food was great (I'm still dreaming about that delicious steak and Guinness pie). The atmosphere made you feel like you'd stepped back in time-- lamp light and muskets and stuffed puffins and a bear in a Drovers t-shirt and kilt. OK, maybe not TOTALLY historically accurate, but history mixed with wit and a sense of fun. They tell me this inn is haunted. It must be by friendly, fun-loving spirits. On our first night there was live music at the bar. We enjoyed the singer/ guitar & harmonica player very much, but it all kicked up a notch when he got the whole room to join in on the singing. Everyone was clapping, stomping and pounding the table, while belting out a rousing rendition of "The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond". I can't remember enjoying a meal more. On our second night there, the power went out (thank you, Hurricane Amy). The staff showed that although they are retired horse thieves and pirates, they take their current jobs in hospitality very seriously. They could not complete cooking of the evening meals, so it was a quick pivot to sandwiches for all. They handled it with professionalism and grace that made the inconvenience part of the adventure (as one staff member quipped, it was all part of the haunted experience). Breakfast, too, was pulled together with what was available and ingenuity, as they made instant coffee and tea with water heated on the wood stove, and we feasted on cold cereal and granola bars. But as the staff met the challenges with good humor and made the best effort to make it a good experience for the guests, we walked away with an abundance of good memories and an enduring fondness for the Drovers Inn (and its resident horse thieves, pirates and highway men).

I arrived in the dark and the entrance driveway was dimly lit, so it made it harder to find a parking space, not to mention that the path is narrow and stone walls everywhere. Anyway, whilst reception staff was really friendly and accommodating, the barman appeared a bit rude when I ordered a drink. I had to go to reception to ask if I can add the drink to my room. The next barman was nicer and even asked me, if I liked to order something else. The room, in the new building on the first floor, was very nice looking at first glance. Lovely bed covers, so soft. Shower worked perfectly. The only problem was that I could not sleep all night due to a buzzing noise nearby. Must have been a heating or water tank of sorts. Walls were so thin. I heard my neighbours coughing and talking during the night. Maybe they had the same problem with the noise. In the morning it got worse as another buzzing sound now came from the same floor. Elevator, maybe? Above me was the roof restaurant and I could hear guests walking constantly! There was no welcome pack in my room, however I got free bottle of water, slippers and a robe. TV remote control only worked occasionally. Outside there is a swimming pool and gym in a separate building. Breakfast was shambles. I'm not sure how they call this a well served breakfast. There were two pieces of ham left and three mini pastries. Cornflakes still packed in its original package. There was no milk on my table. I had to ask for it. They brought coffee , but no milk. The porridge does not win a star either, slightly over salted. Check out was fast. One thing is for sure. I will NOT be back. This is a 4 star hotel , but for a similar price you get better service and rooms in Gleneagels or Crieff Hydro nearby !!! I gave it a 3 star as some of the personnel were really nice.
