I recently stopped by here with my boys after having some services done at the salons next door and am SO glad we decided to pop in! From the moment you open the door - the smell of comics (and even my own childhood!) consume you. There is SO much to see and look for - it's easy to spend the whole day inside and potentially go broke. My kids gravitated right to the youth section, which was aptly positioned right near the entrance (I say aptly, because once you venture in a bit more, you do have to pass by the more "adult" side of the comic world), and immediately found a few new additions to their at-home library! As if that wasn't enough to reel one in, they even sat down to indulge in a few chess moves. ;) Of course, finding all the nostalgia and collectibles further toward the back of the store was icing on the cake. There were several aisles of toys and figures - pop culture and more! - should that tickle your comic book-loving fancy. Just don't say I didn't warn you! I love that the staff welcomed the kids and engaged with them. The two young(er) folks working that day were super knowledgeable and well-versed in the comic book world and I am here for it. They took time to share all about the store, the programs and clubs of times past - here's to hoping they come back!! - and offered a much needed welcome to the comic book kids of today in this area. If I'm being honest, it made for a great first-time visitor experience. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by and for the life of me, am still scratching my head to understand why we've not stopped in sooner! I have come to this location many times. Even though I do not profess to be a gamer, I have always…read moreenjoyed my time here. In truth, I am usually here working while my spouse plays. They have themed nights based on different games. They have an assortment of Warmachine, Magic the Gathering, Star Wars X-wing, D&D, dice, assorted supplies, snacks, drinks (even coasters), and board games. There are many times people at the store will choose to play together over a board game while waiting for their other games to begin. The store also hosts local tournaments. On a side note, I appreciate the store's cleanliness. However, what may set this store apart over others is its owner, Justin, and the relationships he has built with his customers. He is a very kind man, considerate and caring, attentive, and helpful. He is funny and curious, two traits that greatly pique interest in conversations where we have an opportunity to learn about each other more so than I think would happen without his involvement. The other customers there have certainly made the store their own. A running joke with a hint of bittersweetness from truth is how Justin may own the store, but it truly belongs to his customers -- that is, until actual responsibility must be invoked. The community he houses within its walls are welcoming and engaging. I am glad this place is here, because it is great to have friends I may otherwise not have known if not for the dynamic of this guild of sorts.

"I don't care for the new out of universe stuff." Insert smirk. The environment heavily caters to the LGBT community, they're allowed to have their own little hubs and what not.... so if you don't look like them, talk like them, or act like them... they'll treat you accordingly.. It's like I couldn't breathe in there. This is def the "pronouns" crowd. I remember trying to play and I kept getting interrupted by the two guys behind the counter talking about my deck being this, and how I can't do that, and according to blah blah blah I shouldn't do this. It makes it not fun to play when you have people like this around you. I get that there are rules and I'm learning.. but jeez, no need to laugh and jest all because I've only been playing for a month! The tables to play on were ok, but the overhead lights and constant flickering made me feel like I was going to have a seizure. There's constant conversation from the dudes behind the counter about how one of them has a "non binary" partner, and how to use the correct pronouns, and I'm just fatigued with this madness already. Can't there be a card shop that isn't obsessed with LGBT, pronouns, and schadenfreude? Idk, the environment isn't welcoming if you're not a far leftist or new to the games. It just isn't. That's how I felt while in there, that's my opinion. I'm not interested in politics from either side while I'm playing my cards.
