I recently stopped by here with my boys after having some services done at the salons next door and am SO glad we decided to pop in! From the moment you open the door - the smell of comics (and even my own childhood!) consume you. There is SO much to see and look for - it's easy to spend the whole day inside and potentially go broke. My kids gravitated right to the youth section, which was aptly positioned right near the entrance (I say aptly, because once you venture in a bit more, you do have to pass by the more "adult" side of the comic world), and immediately found a few new additions to their at-home library! As if that wasn't enough to reel one in, they even sat down to indulge in a few chess moves. ;) Of course, finding all the nostalgia and collectibles further toward the back of the store was icing on the cake. There were several aisles of toys and figures - pop culture and more! - should that tickle your comic book-loving fancy. Just don't say I didn't warn you! I love that the staff welcomed the kids and engaged with them. The two young(er) folks working that day were super knowledgeable and well-versed in the comic book world and I am here for it. They took time to share all about the store, the programs and clubs of times past - here's to hoping they come back!! - and offered a much needed welcome to the comic book kids of today in this area. If I'm being honest, it made for a great first-time visitor experience. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by and for the life of me, am still scratching my head to understand why we've not stopped in sooner! Product: This store is definitely a destination store for Games Workshop, Magic the Gathering, Vallejo Paints and more. Even better these guys can order games in that they don't normally carry. They assured me over the phone TWICE that they did buy bulk (spoke with AJ, Alecia *sp?, and Matthew) which is why I decided to drive all the way to Cypress from Pearland to drop my collection with them. Now it took about a month to get that collection evaluated because it was a huge collection of boxes and binders honestly took up the entire back of my car. Part of the reason it took so long was I think the person said they were sick and that can't be helped I understand. All that time doesn't really mattered what matters is at the end they just offered to buy like the most valuable cards at a lowball offer for what they wanted. (Which I could have literally taken to any shop and sold) Proceeding to tell me they were not interested in the bulk collection WHICH IS THE ONLY REASON I MADE THE TRIP. . I already knew and not driven what round trip twice was almost 4 hours for me. Also when I got there they had taken everything out of the damn sleeves and just had it in a mess in the office and I had to reassemble it all in the lobby which really frustrated me. That is what really bothered me. I packed all my stuff up and took it to another shop that actually did buy bulk and got a much more reasonable offer. They may be a good shop to hang out at and nice people I have no reason to believe otherwise in that regard it seemed like a nice place when I went both times. TL;DR The shop bs'd me about buying bulk so I drove all the way out to their shop and wasted about 4 hours and it took a month for nothing. But a lowball offer on the rarest cards. Would recommend not trying to sell bulk to these folks cause they wasted my time and are likely wasting yours.

While I was test-sleeving the cards I met with the store general manager Ken and Derek, one of the managers. Gave Derek a KL starter. He and Ken were extremely professional and hospitable. We also had an amazing and fruitful gameR chat. The store is amazing, well-stocked, clean. The management also makes sure that noise level from players talking is kept in control. I came back the next day to buy more card sleeves. Another store employee was there to take care of me. She was likewise amazing. A great gaming store for gamers who wish to have fun and rest.

Every time I walk in this store an employee is always eager and happy to help and my brother LOVES everything I have got him from Ettin Games and Hobbies! While my brother is a MUCH MORE Magic: The Gathering player, I am not and I do not have much experience playing Magic. I almost always lose. My brother asked me to play a commander game with me and showed me which cards to play and way and I ended up winning for my first time so I guess I got the "bug" for playing it. Remembering that Ettin Games sells Magic cards & etc., I looked them up on their website and read their event calendar. When I see that they do commander casual play, it peaked my interest so I called to ask about their events. When I called, I first spoke to a SUPER nice and helpful employee named CJ who explained their events to me. I explained that I would like some help learning how to play Magic: The Gathering; that I'm not very good at playing it; and I don't have much experience. CJ told me that every week, they have players that come and LOVE to work with and help new players play MTG and that, also, their "Magic Guy", Willie would be there and that Willie plays MTG and loves to help other players as well. I was told that Willie would help me put together a White deck and BOY did he!!! I was SO EXCITED and grateful!! I meet several REALLY COOL people (2 of which helped me ALOT). Both Willie and another player let me play their decks and try them out! I had SO MUCH FUN!!! Willie put together a really nice white deck for me that I'm SUPER EXCITED to try out!! I can't wait to go back next Thursday!!! I'm also SUPER EXCITED about my new "Black Widow" playing mat and sleeves!!

I went to Cy-Tex gaming for the first time really excited looking for Pokemon and yugioh cards after someone recommended the store to me. I walked in and bought four cards and continued to look around the store with my purchased cards. The employee expressed to me that service would be slow because he was the only one working today. While looking around, the employee went to the other half of the store while I continued to browse. From the back, another older employee came out and hovered around my general area near the front counter. After I finished looking, I moved over to the other half of the store with the cards I had purchased. I put them in my pocket and moved on to join the first employee. When I went to the other half of the store to browse for pokemon cards, the older second employee followed me. I didn't think much of it until he followed me around to every part of the store. I noticed that his eyes were glued on to me everywhere I went. It eventually became clear to me that I was being followed. I continued to browse the store and different aisles as he continued to follow me with his eyes and moved to where he could see me. Eventually, after I finished looking I returned to the front half of the store and waited to purchase a Yugioh EBT box. While I was waiting in line I heard the second older employee tell the first that I had put cards in my pocket. At this point, I got my digital receipt ready to show. Sure enough, when it was my turn to check out he told me that his boss saw me put cards into my pockets and needed to see them to verify that I had purchased my cards. I showed him the four cards I had purchased, and he shouted out to his boss that he could confirm that I purchased all four cards. To conclude, after 15-20 minutes of following me around both halves of the store and through some aisles, rather than ask me if I had purchased the cards he just assumed I was stealing them and had the first employee ask me to show the cards in my pockets to verify that I purchased them and had not stolen them. After verifying that I only had the cards that I bought when I first went up to the register the second older employee laughed it off and tried to awkwardly play it off. Like I said, I know this isn't everyone's experience, just mine. I went into the store so excited for all the cards, pokemon, and yugioh. I never thought that I would be treated to feel as if I was stealing or was a criminal. Despite all this, it is a great store filled with a variety of items and things. I do plan on returning and hope for a different experience.
