The host was so sweet and accommodating! We asked to sit outside and she made sure we got the perfect spot with a great view, which made the whole experience even better. The food came out fresh and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. Such a cute brunch spot with great vibes, I'll definitely be back again soon

Great brunch spot near Mother's Beach (we parked in that lot and walked to the restaurant). I don't like shrimp, but since their sister restaurant is "Killer Shrimp" and they have their own special shrimp rub (similar, I imagine, to Old Bay seasoning), I figured I should try a shrimp dish. I ordered the Shrimp Benedict, a typical benny (English muffin, poached egg, perfect Hollandaise) plus small, easy-to-eat shrimp. I loved it, especially topped with the unusual hot sauce on the table. I chose a hashbrown as my side - a good-sized, well-cooked patty. My boyfriend surprised the server, and likely the kitchen, by ordering the Thanksgiving turkey dinner (in July). It was a hearty platter with nice breast meat, chunky homemade dressing, tangy cranberry sauce, and a sautéed veg medley (carrots, zucchini, summer squash). We also enjoyed strong, properly made mai tais. We sat outside with a lovely view of a nearby marina. We'll be back!

I live very close by in MDR and have been to Killer Shrimp before so really wanted to check out their breakfast restaurant attached on the south side of the building called Killer Café. I will say that the food taste and quality is pretty good although the service was horrible. Inside is very large with a large counter area and booth seating and each booth is very large and could comfortably sit at least six people. There is also a free parking lot attached so parking is really easy. The issue that we had was we arrived at 10:30 for a Saturday brunch. When we walked in the server said have a seat anywhere you like. So we sat in the very first booth, among many other open booths. Many servers passed by us and as well as other employees but no one came to take our drink or food order or even check in with us for over 25 minutes. Finally, the older woman working there came over and said there was a mixup in how they are assigning tables and tried to explain it away, but she didn't even say sorry or offer any consolidation or even make the issue right. One of the other servers overheard this and came over and took our order after waiting about 30 minutes. After that they expedited the order but everything took much longer than it should have. Also, pricing is more expensive here because you are paying for proximity to the water. However, the food quality is not to par with what they charge. I started off with a slice of the Cinnamon Roll Cake and it felt much more like a piece of cake versus a traditional cinnamon roll. It was pretty dense so I would not recommend or order it again. For my breakfast I chose the Killer Shrimp Benedict, which I enjoyed for the most part although my eggs were a bit overcooked and the few pieces of shrimp just really did not fill me up. Overall, I would give this place another try to see if the service was a one time issue given how close it is to where I live. I will say that it is not my favorite breakfast restaurant in the area, but I am going to give it a one more try in the future to see if I just got unlucky during my visit.

Killer Cafe/shrimp is right in the heart of the Marina, great views, open clean floor plan, attentive staff. I'm not a seafood guy so we went to the cafe for brunch. This was the go to breakfast place for my friend group in the "BC" (Before Covid) but I wasn't very impressed with the food. For $20 the Chicken and waffles were expensive for the quality. Chicken was small, stringy, and kinda soggy. Waffle was disappointing as well. Shrimp and grits was not up to par with a place that has "shrimp" in the name. The shrimp were rubbery, and it wasn't the normal killer shrimp seasoning, Grits were tasteless and the broth broke & separated. This $20 meal just was sad and sat unfinished. Mimosas apparently were on point though. Everyone in our group got one. Always topped off and glasses stayed filled with a splash of OJ for color. Eaten here a couple of times now I live in area. Dont know if I'll be back.

Food was amazing! Service was good but they needed more waiters. The waiter was handling all of the people outside busy morning. But he was great!Ambiance was great! Ocean and boats . My father in law from out of town and he loved it!

Beware that the online price notes as $15 for bottomless Mamosia, but it is really $18 as of today 1/18/26!!! See attached online pic. I asked for the Manager and the guy said he was the Manager and would NOT honor the online price. So beware!!!

Everything comes together at Killer Cafe in Marina Del Rey. Location on the water with quality indoor and outdoor seating options. Service, with attention to detail- our water glass was always full. Home fries are well seasoned and delish. Salmon Benedict with perfectly cooked eggs, yummy hollandaise sauce, smoked salmon, and a thin slice of melted soft mozzarella was off the charts amazing. After breakfast walk along the Marina bike path was the perfect dessert.

The staff at this restaurant made us feel so welcomed! The hostess and our server were so sweet. We ordered the breakfast burritos (9/10 - the salsa could've had more flavor and spice), chorizo & eggs (10/10 - very yummy!), and the two eggs breakfast (7/10). The interior was nice and love that it is by the water. I will definitely be back!

I want to start off by saying our server Riley was fantastic!! The ambiance and location is prime and located right in the marina. As for the food, it was good but not great. Our food was a little dry but still tasty! I'll definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu as everything sounded so good.

Thank you Phillis and Giovanni! Fabulous Service! Phillis saved the last outside table for me while I waited for the rest of my party to show up. Dog friendly! Bottomless mimosas! Home-made sour mix for drinks! Great view. I would definitely recommend!

Happy Killer Cafe has reopened! Unfortunately the hours have changed. Thankfully still have bottomless mimosas! I come a few times a month, love sitting outside. Great views of the water. Service is great. I can guarantee they'll forget my avocado in my BYO omelette but that's not a problem, easy fix. But the TOTS... THE TOTS ARE PERFECT!

Killer Shrimp Benedict! It looked so good that I forgot to take a photo before diving in!

I live in Santa Monica which means I'm surrounded by overpriced trendy restaurants that capitalize on their location by overcharging on their menu. No qualms with that. That's what you have to expect when you live here. And then you have a spot like Rae's. Rae's is a classic diner vibes in every sense of the word. It almost looks like a place out of time with how retro it is, but it works. Can you expect the best meal of your life? Absolutely not. Can you expect an authentic diner experience with questionable but unlimited coffee and everything you expect a diner to have on the menu for under $15? Absolutely. Personally, I like that places like this still exist and there is no better cure for a hangover than a breakfast at a diner like Rae's.

What is special is the selective visibility: female customers are optional, male customers get eye contact and service. Today confirmed it. I asked a waitress--card terminal in hand--to let us pay. She suggested I navigate the crowded counter instead. Seconds later, my husband returned from the restroom and suddenly she reappeared, smiling, with takeout containers and the card terminal. Amazing how service improves with a Y chromosome present. I paid, tipped, and left unimpressed. Kindness shouldn't be gender-specific. If you're visiting Santa Monica looking for a warm American diner experience, I'd look elsewhere.

It actually is a community landmark where locals congregate and hang out. The other plus is that they are Spanish-language friendly. Ambiance is cozy, friendly and homey and service is great! Menu includes standard diner fare, comfort food. We've recently had the open faced hot turkey sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes, which was good, and we enjoyed it. The next time JJ had a bowl of split pea soup, which was excellent! He also had the tuna sandwich, which he enjoyed as well, but said it was a little on the dry side. I ended up deciding on breakfast at 5 pm in the afternoon--- combo with pancakes, eggs over easy and sausages. It was so good! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The pancakes were steaming hot and fluffy and the sausages were really plump and juicy. Excellent. Recommended, if you're in the area---give Teddy's a try. Cash only, but there is an ATM inside.
