Local go-to. Service and the stuff .they've got the goods . Priced right too . Say yeah.

I've been in here a couple times and they are well stocked, helpful and friendly. They also have a wide selection of shark tooth hunting supplies. Also a good place for key copying. If you want some alone time in the long aisles of Home Despot and Lowe's have at it. But if you want to get stuff done then this is your place. Ace is the Place. Got that? Don't make me repeat myself. Lots packed in. Even some fun stuff. Jist watch out for the sign backing up.. read more

I go into this store all the time.( local guy) I absolutely love 99.9% of the people in there. I had the worst experience today. I went to return 3 chainsaw blades. 2 of which I had the receipts for. The third I didn't. It was busy and I said to just keep the one k didn't have the receipt for. Then the lady said" I'm given g you a 20% restocking fee because someone could have used these." That's fine. It's doesn't matter. Then she was even more frustrated that she couldn't find her calculator. I said no big deal please give all three of these chain saw blades to someone who needs them. I don't need the refund. She jus had to get the last word and said " I will " Well I will never step foot in that store again! Used to love it, now I hate it! read more

The best hardware store trip ever! At 3pm on a Saturday we found a small leak from our kitchen sink drain. I identified the issue, a worn out gasket. Where to go... We dreaded the thought of driving, parking, wandering around searching for the right aisle, then standing in line at HD or Lowes. Our last trip was not enjoyable. Fortunately Kile's ACE Hardware is 2 miles from the house. Drove there, walked in and had real, knowledgeable, people show us exactly what we needed to fix the issue. Then we bought other stuff to work on a few projects, wireless doorbell, window screen, spray paint, caulking... We even had a few laughs with the people helping us! Checkout was a breeze. The whole visit was under 10 minutes! If you need to get something done, start at Kile's ACE Hardware first! read more

There are a number of mixed reviews on this page about Kiles Ace Hardware -- nothing in the middle, either rave reviews or irate customers. After three horrendous experiences over the last couple of years, I am convinced that the rave reviews are written by friends or family of the owner. This place consistently provides rude service. My last experience was the last straw. I had bought a couple of strings of outdoor Christmas lights at Kiles two years ago. This year, one of them stopped working. I stored the lights on the original spool, with the label that boasted 10 year unconditional warranty in large letters. The same model lights still sit on the shelf ... with the same warranty. The woman at the counter -- always incredibly rude -- asked when I bought the lights. When I said two years ago she immediately pushed them across the counter and said, with disdain, "We're not taking these back." I then asked her to read the label and she snapped, "Don't condescend me." She then snatched the lights from my hand and asked, "Where's the receipt?" I said I don't have a receipt from two years ago, which prompted her to toss the spool of lights back at me. "I asked her to keep reading and the label said the exchange was unconditional and the lights would be replaced to the store by the manufacturer. She than snapped again, "You have to talk to the manager." He asked the same question, "How long ago did you by the lights?" When I answered two years, I got the lights tossed back at me, with a bounce. I showed the 10 year warranty and he said, "I don't care what it says. I'm not taking them back." I protested loudly and left the store ... never to return again. Worst business, of any kind, I have ever experienced!!! read more

As a do it yourselfer one of the tricks you learned is to take old paint to the local hardware store and have it shook or even colored. This place refused to do it. Was very discouraging. I have never been anywhere where they would not provide that service. Even home depot and lowes does that service. Also they did not have the normally stocked products that I went to buy. The odds are high that I will just make the trip to lowes. From now on. read more

I love this place. It is indeed the best hardware store in the area. You are greeted at the door when you enter, asked if you need assistance, and personally walked to each item you are looking for. And no need to buy a full package of nuts, bolts, washers, etc. You can purchase one item if you wish. They always have exactly what I need. read more

I recently move to the area. This store is great!! I'm in the remodeling business, I have been in this store 15+ times and always found what I was looking for. Very helpful staff. You are in and out very quickly at a small premium to the big box store. Well worth the stop read more

I bought a 2006 Toyota that had a spare OEM blank master key with the internal chip inside it. I took it in to Kile's because of their roadside advertisement for cutting automotive chip keys. The Kile's "expert" key staff were not only unfriendly, they would not cut it for me unless I bought "their" blank key for $70! They said that they were much cheaper than the local Toyota service center, but that dealership quoted me $45 to buy another key. Both are still expensive if you already have the correct blank key in your hand, but at least the Toyota service desk was polite about it. If you need a car key with a chip (transponder) cut and programmed, find another locksmith with a friendly customer service policy and the key chip technology. Also, for almost all hardware items like plumbing, electrical, tools and supplies, Babe's Ace Hardware on Venice Island is less expensive than Kile's, and every staff member I have dealt with at Babe's has been friendly and helpful. They cut standard keys for very low prices, but unfortunately do not have the car chip key machines. read more

They will not let you return any hurricane prep related items during season. Batteries, unused generators etc. seems super shady. There is a sign up now. Wasn't there BEFORE the hurricane. The larger stores have ZERO issue with this. I'll take my business to them now. read more

Best hardware store in the area. Good selection, even of stuff you wouldn't expect to find there. Generally knowledgeable sales staff and prices that are often on the Walmart level. Almost always find what I'm looking for. read more

Wow, the "helpful hardware man" doesn't work here. I just moved to the area and needed some extra keys to the house. I went in to Kile's Ace Hardware to get a couple of keys cut today and left with a dose of attitude. This place is TIRED, and very disorganized. Inventory is everywhere and poorly planned and presented. It even smells funny. The guy who wanted to "help" me was rude and obnoxious. The two women behind the counter were more interested in chatting with each other than assisting customers. Won't be back. Went down the street to Lowes and had a much better experience. Sad to see small businesses disappearing but this one is surely on that list. read more
