Testers were fresh and I was able to try out most of the products on my hand while browsing. Besides skincare, they also have tools and makeup! I was shocked to see my beloved Innisfree powder amongst the shelves, along with some TonyMoly and a variety of cute lipsticks and glosses. I came here looking for a specific moisturizer, a pack of eyebrow razors, and any other fun skincare tools I could find. Unfortunately, they didn't carry the brand of skincare I was looking for, and the eyebrow razors were a bit overpriced for my taste. Not sure if the owner is still getting the shop set up or if she just got a shipment in, but there were a TON of unpacked boxes behind the counter and on the floor. It was a bit difficult to maneuver around the store, and the bottom of my coat was covered in dust from brushing up against the boxes on my way out :( Ultimately, I would suggest coming here if you want personalized recommendations (the owner is very skincare savvy) or if you want to see a product in person before purchasing. They mostly have higher end products and not many brands I use, so I probably won't be back unless I'm in need of my Korean makeup staples.

I love going here to find Asian goodies that you typically wouldn't find nearby. Here, you can find some KBeauty, Japanese snacks, cute stuffed animals, Asian makeup products, kitchenware, hair products, little knick knacks, and more! I personally love getting beauty products, snacks, and stuffies from here. I think prices are fair for their items since they're not sold at any other stores around here and if you order them online, expect to wait a couple weeks to receive. So, I don't mind their prices because of this.

Descending the steps of the Aesop store is like stepping into an oasis and escaping from the hustle…read moreand bustle of Boston. It's a little dark inside, contrasting with many of the brightly lit boutiques on Newbury Street, but the darker interior adds to the relaxing, spa-like atmosphere. Products are stocked on shelves along the walls, while the center of the store is devoted to trying the products. Every item they sell is available as a tester on the center table. The table has a sink at the end so you try products such as their cult-favorite hand washes. Customers can test products to their hearts' content. They even have towels of terrycloth rather than paper to dry your hands with. It's a nice touch that elevates the experience of trying products in a store. The music playing in the store was relaxing and further added to the tranquil atmosphere. The Aesop associate was very nice. She was very knowledgeable about the products and was able to recommend a moisturizer for me. She gave me samples when I checked out and placed my purchases in a white muslin drawstring bag that is unique to Aesop stores. She spritzed the bag a couple of times with one of Aesop's aromatherapy sprays, so I could take the Aesop experience out of the store with me. Aesop has a reputation for being very pricey, but many of the items are comparable to other high-end brands and stores. The Aesop store was a great place to take a little breather from the city while treating myself to some divine-smelling products.

We walked into a clean, organized store with the signature pink aesthetic carried through consistently, and the scent in the air when we came in from Newbury Street was enough on its own to pull us through the door. The format here is testers only on the sales floor, with staff retrieving purchased items from the back when you are ready to buy. That setup keeps the space uncluttered and shifts the focus toward trying things rather than browsing packaged product, which suits the brand's approach to beauty and makes the in store experience feel more like a studio than a shop. We found that skin tint and concealer color matching in particular benefits from the in person format in a way that online shopping cannot replicate, and the staff are trained to assist with that process rather than just pointing at the display. The service quality is consistently one of the strong aspects of this location. The staff know the products well and approach the interaction as an actual conversation about what you are looking for rather than a push toward a purchase, a distinction that is noticeable. The store gets busy on weekends, and Newbury Street foot traffic can make the experience feel rushed during peak hours. We found that weekday visits offer a more relaxed version of the same space and more one on one time with the staff if you have specific questions. For a beauty shopping experience that bridges the gap between online and physical retail effectively, Glossier on Newbury Street is a well executed stop.
