These guys are great. I called 5 plumbers in the course of the morning and either got no calls back or was told folks were too busy- plumbing business must be really bommin'!! Worst professionalism I have ever seen. Asked him to wear a mask and he told me '"their protocol was they don't wear masks when they work and that I can't be in the same room." I told him I was more than 6 feet away and we specifically asked that they wear a mask. I asked him to leave and he said "no I'll leave when (property manager) tells me to leave. They called to tell him to leave. He lied and told them it was only 2 seconds (actually 10 mins) he didn't have a mask on. After the call I reinforced to leave and was told by him "what the f#ck was I going to do about it." In the process of leaving he took all of our existing plumbing from under the sink he was supposed to be fixing. I would recommend to all to never use this company. read more

Came out to unclog the kitchen sink quickly and on short notice. Unclogged the sink but it clogged up again a week later (not their fault). Called to get guidance and they helped me to understand what may be going on and even went back through their records to verify some past jobs (I was trying to find out who had been here before for the sink). Ed Kiker is a gem in Loudoun County. He and his son do great work for a reasonable price and will show up when promised and they do know how to fix the problems in older houses as well as new. Vicky, the office manager, is a sweet as Ed is cantankerous. Don't be offended if he seems grumpy, he is almost always right that you bought the wrong thing at the big box store. Fantastic work at a very reasonable price. I had Kiker come out to fix a flooding basement. I thought it was a blocked storm drain but it turned out to be a broken sump pump. While he was fixing that problem, he identified a leak in a pressure valve and the backflow valve. I had been searching for those leaks for years thinking it was running toilets that kept my water/sewage bill so high. He fixed everything for much less than competing plumbers in the area. We had a sump pump that failed and flooded our basement. I called Kiker Plumbing and was able to get an appointment right away. I ended up calling and moving it to the next day due to all the emergency clean up people in the house. The secretary that I spoke to was so nice and very accommodating. She called me to let me know Mr Kiker was on the way. He arrived exactly on time. He was thorough, polite and very knowledgeable. When I asked random questions regarding our problem he took the time to discuss it. He offered to check other areas that could have been a concern as well and gave me suggestions. There was none of that "corporate sell mentality" he was just helpful and honest without trying to push something on us that we didn't need. I called this plumbing company (had used them once before for leaking dishwasher) but this time I needed a kitchen faucet replaced because very little water was coming out. I was highly considering doing it myself (I watched a You-tube video) but at the last minute called on a Friday morning and asked if someone could come out (that morning!) before I tried it. Explained things to the lady on the phone and worked it out so that someone (the owner, I think) came out that morning. When they got there they had me shut off the main water supply to my condo (vs Youtube video just turned off the water supply under the sink). Anyway, as soon as he turned the under-sink off, the pipe cracked. This means, had I even tried, I would have flooded out my place, along with the unit under me. He fixed that and then it cracked on the other side. sigh.. I've got crappy pipes. Anyway, he had to cut in the drywall to fix it all. Moral of the story is, yes it took longer and cost more than would have if it was just a simple replacing of a faucet, but I was very, VERY thankful to have a professional on the job so I didn't have to deal with the stress of water spraying everywhere, insurance, major damage repairs etc. etc. Nice guy and he explained everything along the way. I had this company come to give me an estimate on rough in plumbing for my basement finishing project. I was able to call and schedule the estimate very quickly and Mr. Kiker showed up at the promised time. He took time to go over every single part of the plumbing layout and write down everything he would need. He informed me to give him a couple days to get a price to me. This is where my experience ends with Mr Kiker. After not hearing back after 1 week, I call his office to follow up and was told she would have him call me back. Another week passes and still no word so I call back and get the same response. It has now been about 2 months and I have not heard from them. I am not sure why he even came and wasted his time with the estimate. I ended up just having another plumber do the work. read more

We moved to Unison 19 years ago and have Ed at our house on 4 occasions. Every time he not only fixed the problem but instructed us how to avoid other issues throughout the house. We've used these plumbers for repairs on a newer (2001) house and an old one (1956) and were quite pleased with the services that they provided......especially with the 1956 plumbing fixtures which other plumbing repair services would start to say "I don't know....." meaning they didn't know exactly what to do.
