Came here for a surprise music. And food event. Normally I'm use to this place prior to sporting events. It's changed a lot. I like what the city did for the updates. Parking is all throughout. After 7 on week days I believe parking meters are free.

Winterfest at Kiener Plaza. I loved it!!!! Plenty of action and photo opportunities available. Beautiful views of the Arch. Ice skating , igloo rentals, karaoke, smores, fire pits and even a couple of food trucks. This event is kid friendly, date night or just with friends chilling having a good time will be had. Christmas is in the air . Bundle up and have a good time !

You have to come check out the Summer in STL series of events in Kiener Plaza this summer. We came down here and had a great time enjoying the music, food and people watching. And it's right under the Arch!

I found myself in the area recently for the blues festival and spent some time at Kiener Plaza. It's a park, but even more than that, it's a gathering space for the community. There were food trucks, musical performances and people lollygagging's about, just enjoying the evening. The water feature is nice and the trees are beautiful. It's a place I could see myself hanging out reading a book or chatting with people as they walk their dogs.

Beautiful views of The Arch and Old Courthouse at Kiener Plaza. Harry Kiener was an athlete who competed in the 1904 Olympics that were held in St. Louis. He went on to be a steel company executive and a philanthropist. His donation contributed to this plaza. The Olympic Runner statue honors Kiener. It is surrounded by a fountain. Great views on a sunny day. The 1904 St. Louis Olympics were the first to award gold, silver and bronze medals for the first, second and third place winners. Prior to that the third place finisher left empty handed.

My kids and I went here for winter fest skating. Cute little skate rank in the middle of downtown. My kids really enjoyed skating here. Stayed here for two hours. At the time we went there were tree lighting. The weather at this time was cold so we did not stay another two hours to wait for the fireworks. It was super busy. Parking was either street parking or park in the parking garage. There were marshmallow kit that you can buy and several food trucks on opening day.

This is a nice closet that we hung out and played at while we were in the area. We are visiting St. Louis and explore the area. We went to the playground and saw all the sites in St. Louis was a nice town to visit.

Kiener Plaza, Saint Louis

One of the better plazas in the city where you can get a fab view of the Courthouse and the Gateway Arch. The plaza was named in honor of Harry J. Kiener, who was on the US Track Team at the Olympics held in St. Louis in 1904 during the World's Fair. The park features a playground, fountains and concert area and has a number of paths and a lawn that can accommodate a variety of events. "The Olympic Runner" statue honors the former Olympian, it is the work of Lithuanian-born immigrant William Zorach. [Review 17232 overall - 139 in Missouri - 749 of 2022.]

Sure... It's small... But it's a perfect spot for snapping a well framed image with the Arc + statue of a running dude + domed building in between. I am at a loss to identify more about the sculpture or building... Just that it's a good spot. The park is somewhat small, but parking is easy right off the street at adjacent. We parked right in front of the Hooters... A convenience spot to use a restroom if you need it. Or if you prefer, you can drop in and get a snack of hot wings with potentially hot wait staff. Chuckles... Yeah I know it's cheesy... Oh well

An urban park. Seems unremarkable. But if you wait for the Shakespeare festival, you are in for a treat. I saw a remarkable contemporary version of Midsummer nights dream. Best if you bring a blanket or folding chair.

I didn't plan to visit Kiener Plaza while in St. Louis - heck, I didn't even know what it was technically called before it showed up in my Yelp review recommendations - but I stumbled upon it while en route to the Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse. This is a beautiful public plaza with an iconic view of the Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse in the background. Stand right in front of the fountain for the epic, postcard-worthy frame. This area was a popular spot for a midday lunch break or walk around the park. I'm happy to see that STL invests in green space and public parks in the core of downtown with seating, statues, sidewalks and more.

Scooter skid marks!

Such an awesome park downtown and renovated so beautifully in 2017! You'd never know there is a night time rat population estimated to be over 400 or the regular homeless man tearing off the electric panel cover to charge his phone. They do have a security guard that gets there around 8 AM and a park manager to ensure the area is kept nice. The trees need to do a little maturing to create some shade as right now there is none. The runner statue was left during the renovation which dates to 1966 and lends a great view of the arch and courthouse with the fountain. Here's my beef: THOSE SCOOTERS! They've left black skid marks all over the stones from stupid behavior. Tourists and morons-stop it! Ride on the street like you're spost to and stop marking up the $24M renovation and lovely stones.

Great place to hang out, especially at night. Great views of not only the plaza but the arch as well. Wish there was a bit more to do/see around Xmas but oh well. Will def revisit soon.

But- parking... Brentwood Parks And Recreation needs to align with the city to help with signage for parking. The lot is not large enough (maybe 60 spaces not positive) to have two directions. Even with it being clear to many that the natural flow was counterclockwise, a few felt the need to go against the natural flow. Then the streets around the park were full causing the streets capable of only allowing for a single lane of traffic. Even with a clear flow and literally no room for cars traveling in opposite directions... some attempted to push in, causing longer stand stills. It's like trying to go to the zoo/forest park on the weekends. But the park itself is fun!!! I do wish there was more shaded areas within the park itself. Parking needs to be fixed... there is no way an emergency vehicle could have gotten in to help if help was needed. That is a big concern.

Also, it's very open and I can see all parts of the park so even thought it's not fenced, it just feels safe. The kids love that part of it is a tree that you climb inside. Bathrooms are close so great for potty training toddlers who have to go RIGHT NOW. There are 4 picnic tables in the pavilion, 2 drinking fountains and some sunshades with benches. We had our kids' birthday party there and it went extremely well. Super affordable to rent! The only downside is one parking lot is a flat trek to the playground but a longer one and the other parking lot is fairly close but you have to walk down a big hill and so then also back up. So anyone who is more limited with ambulation or someone who fatigues very quickly may not find this playground particularly accessible. Otherwise it is a super fun and simple playground!

We were the only ones on the playground the entire time-about an hour. Meanwhile we were able to meet a bunch of nice dogs going on long walks. Oak Tree Park pavilion is available to rent through the Brentwood Park system. It's pretty cheap ($60 for non-residents, $40 for residents). There are four picnic benches under the shelter, where the bathrooms are also located.
