I love this store and their great customer service for a reason. First they are not too busy to skip you. Second they know their product and third they know how help you. I buy my facial cleanser from them in person. Its one of those store that i prefer to walk in instead of purchasing online. Ever since my sister first introduced me this skincare brand a few years ago, I seriously fell in love with it. This neat store in Brea mall has a lot more products than those counters at department stores and specialty cosmetics stores. I have very sensitive skin so I need to be very careful with cosmetics. They have a line for sensitive skin specifically which is perfect for me. I love the day cream with SPF 30. Because I don't need to put on thick face sunscreens on top of this day cream, so it's very light and refreshing. They also have body care, men's skincare and so much more. The staff members here were very friendly and non pushy. We got quite a few samples after our purchase, the point system is great for future purchases too. And the BEST thing about this brand is that it's a bit more affordable than high end cosmetic brands. I like to mix expensive cosmetics with less expensive ones, that way is just more practical and all. They have something for all skin types and all ages, I am sure you can find something good for yourself or your loved ones here. I've been using kiehls forever now! I always use their calendula foam face wash. I have super oily, sensitive, and acne/whitehead prone skin lol!! This face wash was the only one that never really made me flare up...but it made my face a lil dry due to the foam. I went in one day and they were all sold out! So one of the employees recommended the cannabis wash and the ultra facial cream. I'm so glad I listened because my face is literally the best it's ever been!! I'm not sure if it's the face wash, lotion, or me drinking more water lol but the face wash and lotion makes my face feel so hydrated (I only use the lotion at night). read more

The 3 stars is for the customers service. When I walked in an Asian sales person came over and help me. As I was asking for recommendations for the teenage pimples issue, another sales lady came over to help out. She was nice but you can sense right off not genuine. I have been using Kiehl's for years and I like the products. There are lots of gift packages during this time of the year, but the popular ones sold out fast including online. They are running a $20 off special purchase of $65 for November. But that sales person who served me said it's for $80 or more before I get the discount. :( Giving customers misleading information is just not right. I had such a pleasant experience when I came in today. The customer service was excellent! The ladies there greeted me and offered to help me out right off the bat. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped us. She was so sweet and wasn't pushy. She helped me find products for me and my husband. I can't wait to try the products I purchased! Walked in to this store for the 1st time after reading great reviews about their products. Was assisted by a very sweet and professional associate named Maggie to whom I explained that I was currently struggling with hormonal acne & was looking for an oil free moisturizer. Maggie was extremely helpful, gave me plenty of useful information and steered me in to the direction of buying smaller /travel size products first. Kiehl's Brea has been my go to place for many years. Between my daughter & I, we easily spend $300-$500 each time we come into the store. However, for the last year and a half, I noticed that customer service has been a problem. Today, their service just pisses me off that I have to write a review. First of all, they didn't even have to help us because we know exactly what we need to get. However, at the cashier, because my purchase qualifies for 2 sets of gifts that they were offering. I ask the sales girl (Mary, Marie, Melissa? I over heard someone calling her name) to ring up 2 separate transactions. She said ok, but I would have to pay with 2 separate cards. It wasn't a problem so gave her the go ahead. She ring up the first transaction, which was cheaper. Then with the second transaction, she NOW tells me that the card has to be under a different name!!! I told her, well, that's not what you've said in the beginning!!! Because if you have made yourself clear, I could have paid for the first transaction with cash. I asked her to reverse everything so I can pay for the first transaction in cash. She then goes in and bring out a guy name Albert, who "claims" to be the manager (for many years!! But for me it was the first time seeing him). He comes out and tells me for the "benefit of the Kiehl's Company", I CAN'T PAY CASH. Because technically, I am purchasing 1 transaction ($300). And so I can't pay cash to get 2 sets of gift (the gift sets were for purchases of $65 & $115). Well, if any upper management for this STORE is REALLY reading this, customer service & how to run the business is definitely something you guys need to work on. Because, guess what, the company won't loose out!!! But YOUR STORE will. I can easily get Kiehl's products else where or even online. But YOUR STORE just loose out on my purchases today. I walked in to grab a toner but asked for a sample of a moisturizer because I too often make the mistake of buying a full size product and break out because I have sensitive skin. My sister and I asked Anyss for help and asked her for a sample, I got the words "I have dry skin" out of my mouth and she walked away, grabbed a sample, and handed it over to me. I proceeded to tell her I have sensitive skin so is there anything she recommends over the sample she just handed to me because she didn't let me finish my sentence. She proceeded to say "let's do a skin test on you" and I didn't think anything of it so I said okay and just went along with it. After she recommended a laundry list of skin products and asked what I wanted to leave with that day, I was a bit taken aback because I told her I just wanted to start with a sample because I'm scared of breaking out. She once again asked what I wanted and I told her "I'll just buy the toner and the moisturizer" and of course she comes back with moisturizer and the serum I said no to. I don't know how she got the idea that I wanted to buy three things when I asked her for a sample of a moisturizer. She was pushy and not personable - clearly just wanted the sale. I left and had my sister purchase the toner because I felt super uncomfortable and she asked my sister if I was coming back and she told Anyss she was just going to purchase the toner for me and she said it has to be purchased "separately because they're in different profiles" ie she probably just wanted the commission. She walked away clearly irritated but who would want to purchase something from somebody who can't listen to them to start with? Not me honey. Moral of the story - Anyss is pushy don't ask her for help. Erin is really helpful and sweet ask for her. read more

This day I went in and got the soap. Been needing this for a while. But while there I was asked If i had done the whole skin check. I just had the most awful experience at this store. I walked in and there was a gentleman behind the counter (who I learned was the manager) and a sales girl giving excellent customer service to two ladies. Once the gentleman was finished at the register he approached me, I already had a product in my hand. He asked if I had any questions, I did and when I shared my questions and needs he immediately changed tone and attitude because I shared I was not going to purchase an entire regimen. I wanted to target a specific concern and was not interested in introducing an entire process. He then stated he really couldn't help me cause if I wasn't going to invest in all of the products he wasn't going to share the benefits if the one I had chosen. Terrible service. I have tried a few Kiehl's products so far, and am definitely a fan of the brand. If you know what your looking for and don't want to wait for an online order then come in. Reason for bad review is a result of the customer service. I had called ahead asking if a certain product was in, they assured me it was so I drove down. I got in the store when it was busy, and waited my turn. I work retail myself so I understand the struggle, no problem with that even letting them take care of ringing a few people up before taking care of me. I ask for the product which turned out to be in their nearby storage locker, they asked for a name/number to call me when they managed to grab some that I provided. I spend four hours walking the mall trying to pass the time with no call, so I decide to walk back. As I walk into the store I notice the associates(different from earlier) are preoccupied so I just wait for my turn like last time no big deal. I proceed to get passed over by the associates for three new customers who walk into the store about five minutes apart. I think maybe they just didn't know I was thinking for help, and ask each associate if they would be able to help me out when they finish with their customers. I once again proceed to get passed over for the next hour for whichever customer walks in, half of them weren't even looking for anything, I was close enough to overhear that. At this point I had waited for almost five, and a half hours over the course of when I had arrived to then. I basically had wasted that much of my time for a product I didn't even see, that I had called ahead to make sure they had, and was passed over by other customers for. I decided to call it quits and just walk out. Obviously I am frustrated, but it's more so that since I also work retail it pains me to see what they did. It's like watching someone not do something simple right, when honestly they know better. Yes it was rude, but that got to me more. I was sooo happy Kiehls opened a store in Brea Mall. Going all the way to South Coast Plaza was such a trek for me. So much so that I started to exclusively shop online. But that doesn't work for me unless I already know what I want. And usually I do. But when your skin feels like sandpaper from all the weather changes and you want some SOS for your skin stat, trying something new in the store is vital to picking the right product! I stopped in and met Christian, so friendly and knowledgeable and no pressure sales! He assured me that they don't work on commission and to feel free to browse and ask questions. It's so laid back here, I love it. He hooked me up with a great moisturizing mask and face cream and even gave me some deluxe size samples of a moisture serum that is actually quite amazing in theory. I hope in a few weeks, I can see a difference. I won't be shopping online again, it's so much more fun to shop in the store!
