Took my three year old there for a quick haircut before some family photos and they did a great job, and actually cut it fairly short! He looked great, I would definitely return! Love the atmosphere and the people are very friendly however everytime I take my son here his hair isn't cut even. If you look at him up close it's all choppy. I know it's not just one hairstylist because we have never had the same one. Also it's not like he is moving during the haircut he is usually well behaved. This place is a lie! I took my daughter to donate her hair, in their website it says that if you donate the haircut is free... we'll on top of doing a crappy job they charged me for the haircut. The lady doing the cut didn't listen to what I wanted for my daughter, she cut a lot more of what I had asked and left my little girl looking like a boy. I'm outraged because she is devastated, we wanted to do something nice and she end up sad over the hole ordeal. I wouldn't have mind to pay for the haircut if it was well done because at the end of the day it was my daughter wanting to do a good deed. The people cutting hair in this place don't know what they're doing. I wouldn't recommend this place and I will definitely not coming back. I liked the concept of the movies and the fun seats. However, the place could be cleaner. The lady who cut my son's hair hit my son's ears with the comb so hard that he started to cry. You would think these people would be gentle with kids. The haircut was all uneven at the end. I am not happy and will not return. read more

Miss Jamie did a great job on our (often squirmy) almost-3-year-old boy. She had lots of tricks to keep him sitting still and so she was able to give him a great haircut in about 10 minutes. She gave him exactly what we asked for, a shorter neater version of his shaggy 'do. It's kind of pricey ($18) but worth it! The only caveat is that the place is filled with toys - to buy - and so my son had a meltdown when he realized he wasn't getting any of the toys on the shelf. read more

Very disappointed in the customer service- and didn't even get a haircut!! Decided to try this location for my kids haircut. There was a current toddler promotion advertised online for a discount on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Instead of going over the weekend, we chose to wait until Tuesday evening, after work, to take advantage of the promotion. Apparently, however the promotion just changed and is now only available 10-3 (as opposed to all day). That's great- except that I work full time so, no, I could not, like she asked, make an appointment between 10-3. What was really frustrating though, is that the employees noted that someone else had also just seen the online promotion but they couldn't do anything for either of us, other then tell their manager "someone else saw it." So I left, kids in tow, and called to make an appointment at a local competitors shop. read more

We LOVE Kid Snips! My daughter actually looks forward to "getting her hairs cut" because of this place. She sits in a car and "drives" and gets to watch Dora at the same time. They always style her hair with clips and glitter (they always ask mom's permission first which is great!) -She gets to choose a toy -Gets a balloon -They always remember my daughter and she loves it -Kid cuts are $18 but I think it's worth the extra few dollars to go here instead of another discount hair cuttery. -First haircut experience here is fantastic as well. You get a certificate, lock of hair and a picture of your child. Love it! read more

*Edit* Only place close to us but they do ok. My son's hair is never cut evenly though. Trim was higher over the ears on one side than the other. Still better than nothing. The price was 18.00. My husband gets his hair cut cheaper so it's a little ridiculous to ask so much for a bad cut. We brought our 21 month-old son here for his haircut. My first impression upon entering was not a good one. It seemed chaotic, noisy, and very unorganized. At first glance, it seemed more like a toy store with a few barber chairs than a place to actually get a haircut. We stood at the check-in counter for a while before someone did greet us. We had an appointment, and were told it would be a short wait. Waiting in this place with a toddler is an interesting experience. Lots of toys for sale, which may cause a parent to leave purchasing more than just a haircut. My son was finally in a chair about 20 minutes after his appointment. The redemption came from the stylist, Ashly. After experiencing the chaos for over 20 minutes, she was a breath of fresh air. Obviously experienced with small children, she made my son feel very comfortable and entertained. We were able to pick out a movie for him to watch while he was getting his haircut; they have a DVD player at each station. Ashly did a great job and took her time. This was his second haircut ever, and he got through it without so much as a tear in his eye. When we were done he was allowed to pick out a small toy from the treasure chest, free of charge. A standard cut is $18, a buzz cut is $16. This seemed a little steep for a child's haircut, since that is also the charge for an adult haircut at a large haircut chain that I frequent. I'm not sure I would go back here unless Ashly was the stylist every time. The other staff seemed like they didn't want to be there, and I wasn't really impressed with the facility. read more

My husband and I really wanted to like this place. Everyone was very nice and tried to make it a pleasant experience for our little guy. Unfortunately, our baby's hair was cut too short after we told the stylist we wanted to keep his hair on the longer side. We get that it's hard to cut a one year old's hair so we didn't want to not make a big deal about it at the place. Hair grows back and to be honest, the shorter cut was not bad, just much shorter than we wanted and not what we were expecting. The one thing that did bother me though is that I could smell cigarette smoke on the woman who was cutting my baby's hair. At a place focused on kids, this is unacceptable. For that reason, we probably won't be coming back here. read more

Ok, so I went to Kidsnips Naperville (take 2) yesterday after speaking with the owner on Monday, and I have to say I am really impressed by how the handled my complaint. The kids hair got evened out for free and I really liked the new stylist, Miki. Plus the kids each got a free toy, balloons and certificates for free cuts next time. And the owner gave me her cell phone number in case I had any problems in the future. They can't regrow my daughter's hair, but they definitely tried to make it as right as they could! read more

Great place for a child's haircut. I was pleasantly surprised that the person cutting my child's hair was patient, personable and most importantly skilled at her craft. Nadya cut my son's hair last time we were there and she did a phenomenal job. Many times when you go to a kid's hair salon you get sub par quality. Why? Because it's just a kid's hair cut. Not here. I've come to KidSnips at least 5 times in the past and every time we get a good quality cut and shape at a reasonable price. My son has medium thickness curly hair. Nadya worked the scissors like a star layering, shaping and most importantly not cutting out the curls completely. Unless it's a week before school starts you will never have a problem getting an appointment even as a walk in. Everyone is always polite and the location got an upgrade with chairs and ipads. Clean, reasonably priced and good quality. Added bonus is the unique toys they have available. Toy section has also been upgraded and they are now putting some items on sale. What else can you ask for? read more

We took my four-year-old daughter here for her first haircut. I made an appointment online. When we arrived I was a little disappointed to see that they did not have any "girl" cars (at least none that we saw or that we were shown). They all seemed geared towards boys (police car, train, superhero car). We brought my older daughters to a different kid cut place and they sat in a pink Jeep so my youngest daughter was sort of expecting that and was disappointed that they did not have anything pink to sit in. So then she asked if she could sit in the police car and our stylist told us no, that wasn't her station even though no one was sitting there at the time. Our stylist's station was the train and my daughter was very unhappy. Visibly unhappy, pouty face and started to cry. As a parent I absolutely should have just walked out then (totally my fault) but I tried to make the best of it and our stylist just continued with the haircut. The haircut was fine although it was just a trim so there was nothing really to mess up. But I was just very disappointed that this was my daughter's first haircut experience. So just a suggestion when you go to book your appointment make sure you tell them which seat you want, I guess even if they do that? No one explained that to me and that is not a option online. Also the amount of toys and other stuff that they sell in their store was very overwhelming and distracting there were other kids running around playing with the toys. I felt very rushed to get in and get out. read more

After spending $20 on a haircut, overhearing the receptionist call me "cheap" to a colleague for not getting my son a toy did not make me a very happy customer. How incredibly unprofessional and rude. I will certainly be talking to the manager and head office about that experience. My blood is boiling, I"m so angry. read more

I thought this place was great. My son got his first haircut, we walked in, and almost immediately sat down to get his haircut and we did not have an appointment. She was quick and friendly, and my son loved it. Having the toys there, yes is an extra cost but I liked them, I told my son if he sat still he would get to pick out a toy and he sat through the whole cut and when I commented on how well he was sitting, he said, "get toy" so that incentive which ended up costing $10 extra was well worth the money. I got a cute certificate with a photo and a lock of hair. I thought it was well worth the money and will definately be returning and recommending them to everyone!! read more

My son is autistic and I have been taking him here since he was 1 because they have a lot of things to look at and tvs so the kids can watch something while their getting their cuts. Which is why I love it. Tv distraction is the only way my son will cooperatively get his haircut. One time I came here and got a much older woman to cut my sons hair, I did not catch her name but she was not friendly at all. I don't think she knew my son was autistic but she actually made me too uncomfortable to mention it. She kept telling him to "stop crying" and just seemed very annoyed with him the entire time. I was upset about her after leaving but I went back next time my son was due for a cut to give this place another chance. Miss Miki cut his hair and was very understandable about his disability and did a great job with him! I will come here again because of Miki and use her as his stylist every time. read more

I called to see if they would take us as a walk in and girl said yes and stated to call when we were a few minutes away. Mind you it only took 10 minutes for me to make that phone call and we were in the parking lot only to be told she was booked. She thought we weren't there to see but when we looked inside she was there with no customers in the shop when she clearly stated she was wide open until 6:30. Very poor sad customer service, place seemed dirty just from peeking through the window and let's just say I ended up somewhere where my money was welcomed. read more

Eh...we went here based on the reviews on yelp. I took my 3 yr old daughter to get her wavy, unruly hair cut. I did call ahead of time that day and made an appointment because my daughter can get very restless with long waits. Well, we walk in and no one greets us. Then the receptionist girl looks at me and says, "Do you have an appointment?" It would have been nice to be greeted with a smile and a hello. Is that so much to ask for. Especially if I'm spending almost $20 on a 5 minute haircut for my daughter. There is no where to sit. And I think we had to wait almost 30 to 45 minutes. Another family walks in after us and gets service right away. Plus, my daughter is grabbing all the overpriced cheap plastic toys they have displayed on wall shelves. So I can spend more money!! The hairstylist was polite and quiet. Took about 5 minutes for the hair cut..uh I mean trim. Which I think I could of done myself because I wanted her hair much shorter. Her hair still looks the same. I'm kind of disappointed. Will have to look for another place I guess. read more

We made an appointment for my daughter's first hair cut. There aren't any fun kid places nearby so decided to take the trip to Naperville, hoping for a fun experience and memory. After driving about 40 minutes, I thought maybe I missed a turn so pulled off and somehow got a little turned around. We arrived at our appointment approximately 9 minutes late and were told we were too late to keep our appointment. Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe how we felt. The two of us walked back to our car in tears. My daughter, who had been so looking forward to her first haircut for preschool and got a glimpse of the kiddie land inside and me, who felt like such a bad mom for getting lost and letting my daughter down. I understand we are too blame for being late but can't help feel something more could have been done. More staffing, more spread out appointment times, compassion and understanding, anything. Any parent knows, with kids you are bound to be late from time to time so if this place really caters to kids, they'd understand that. Not to mention, this location is off of route 59, which is always cluttered with traffic and the mall itself it is located in was undergoing construction, all which affected our arrival. This was a Thursday morning. I just can't understand why they couldn't squeeze us in. We left and found Snips Snips across the street. Not all the glitz and glam Kid Snips seemed to offer but she got to sit in a little Minnie car, get a nice cut, and take home the same certificate, picture and hair as offered at Kid Snips. Oh, and we walked in without an appointment- no wait. read more
