Took my son here for a haircut. He is only a year old but his hair sticks straight up and doesn't look good grown out. I was hesitant to bring him in because he completely flips out when he gets it cut but he really needed a haircut. I was able to get an appointment same-day, with Miss Heather. She was absolutely amazing with him (she said she had a son about the same age, so that probably helped). He looked SO cute when she was done, so much better than when I cut it myself. I called for his next haircut and requested Heather but she is apparently helping another store for a month so I reluctantly agreed to see someone else and it was not good. It is pretty pricey for the amount of time it takes to cut a little guy's hair, so I won't go back unless I can have Heather cut his hair. The space is clean, but some of the toys for sale have been sitting for what looks like years. I'm not looking forward to when my son will understand that the toys there are for sale - just an annoying money-grab when the service there is already expensive. read more

I had made reservations for two kids at 6 pm, we were 10 min late. I apologized and asked to accommodate at least one kid...or wait for availability. They could care less, totally unapologetic...refused to seat us, said their haircuts are 15 min and our 15 mins we're almost done. There was only one other (screaming kid) in there, while both my kids were ready to go. they asked me to come back the next day (like that's a piece of cake when you're a working mother of 3 children). This was a great experience for us! At first I was dismayed that the whole place is a kids toy advertisement, but the staff is really chill about kids playing with the toys without buying them. They have small trinkets that you can buy for $1-2, too, in case you feel the need to get them a treat. Michelle effortlessly handled first one and then the next child without blinking at the kids running around, and we left with the cutest little French braids on my 2 yr old (who has notably never sat still long enough for me to braid her hair!) Our son is almost four and we've been taking him to see Alex since he was a baby about every month. We're always pleased with the results and he enjoys the experience. The first few times he was fussy, but Alex put him at ease each time and it's been smooth sailing since then. Staff in general has always been welcoming and the environment is extremely kid friendly. I don't recall participating in a particularly heinous act recently, so I was baffled as to the reason I found myself in this torture chamber that is called KidSnips (I subscribe to the concept of karma). Imagine an hour of aimless wandering among several wall displays of overpriced, uninteresting toys all the while being assaulted with a cacophony of hysterical toddler wails and screams (this was a Monday evening near closing time) and then having to pay handsomely for the priviledge. That's KidSnips. Understaffed (as evidenced by the hour wait), nowhere to sit (except an empty toddler barber's chair), pricey, and highly unpleasant. When our turn eventually rolled around, the stylist did a good job, but the trade off isn't worth it. read more

What a fun place for your little one to get their haircut. I took my daughter there for her first cut. She got to sit in a police car, and watch Dumbo. It was totally the best time. Once they were done, they: 1. styled my daughter's hair into these cute side braids and pulled them back. 2. took a picture for memories 3. gave a first haircut certificate, complete with a lock of her hair. 4. she got to choose a toy from the toy chest. 5. got a balloon Really we had a great time. I was impressed with the hairstylists experience with little children. Come on would you want to cut a 2 years head of hair? I recommend this place. I mean we got it all for under $20! This is by far my choice for my kids haircuts (ages 3 1/2 and 2 1/2). I went to "that other" kids haircut place - which was OK. But KidSnips has been excellent! They do a great job for "First Hair Cuts", and on going from there. My son loves it because he gets to pick what he wants to watch (from a pretty good selection of DVDs) - and he gets to pick a toy from the toy chest. I am incredibly disappointed in my son's first haircut. The salon itself is essentially a dirty toy store, with a couple of car themed chairs throughout. The stylist, and I use that term loosely, who cut my sons hair was polite but clearly inexperienced. She used clippers on his neck which left half of the back of his head bald (literally) and even that hairline that is uneven, at best. I fully understand that toddlers are squirmy, however you'd think that since they do this for a living, they'd be competent. I showed my own stylist a photo of my son's hair cut and she was absolutely horrified. I will never, ever go back and I'd suggest that if you are looking for a hair cut that doesn't make your kid look ridiculous, find somewhere else. read more

We decided to take both kids in to get a haircut without making an appointment. The girls there were definitely pleasant and easy going. They handled both my kids quite well. I like that they give the kids an option to watch a video or play a game while they are getting their hair cut. Basically something to distract them from squirming around. The price is a little steep. I'm a little annoyed that they sell a ton of toys and hair accessories there. I had to play the bad mom to rip them out of my kids hands and leave with screaming little ones. read more

Our 2 year old was FREAKING out so they even gave us a bit more time and were super understanding. The stylist was amazing given that our son was not the most cooperative. I have been going to kid snips since my son had his first haircut over a year ago. Always had a great experience, until today. I had an appointment at 5:30pm. At 5:35 I was still stuck in traffic on 59 so I called them to tell them I'd be late. When I called I was immediately put on hold, but could hear everything in the background. During that time the lady made a 6:00 appt and a 6:15 appt all while I'm sitting on hold. Finally she picks back up and said I will late, at least 10 minutes, is that okay? They said yes of course no problem. I arrived at KidSnips at 5:50. 5 minutes past my estimate of being 10 minutes late. The second I walk in the lady, Leah, was very rude. I tell her I had an appt and called to tel them I'd be late due to traffic. (Mind you including traffic and drive time this was over an hour trip for me.) She says oh, is it okay if we reschedule? Absolutely not, I said I just called and let you know I would be late, you said that was okay. I've been in the car over an hour now to get here. She says, well you said 10 minutes late. It's past 10 minutes. We can't see you. I asked why I wasn't told on the phone she said because I said 10 minutes and I was 15 minutes late. I tried to explain that I said ABOUT 10 minutes and that obviously traffic is unpredictable and I've made an hour trip now for nothing? She said again how I was past 10 minutes and that there is a haircut place across the street, maybe I should go there. I could not believe they would have someone so rude working their front desk. Now I also want to add while I was there, NO ONE WAS WAITING FOR HAIR CUTS. AT. ALL. The place was EMPTY besides one kid getting a hair cut. If my being late was an issue she could have told me over the phone when I asked if it was a problem. I then had to drag my son out without a hair cut while he was extremely upset because he was excited for this. I can not believe this woman is allowed to be so rude to customers and advise them to go to another hair cut place. Absolutely uncalled for and ridiculous. read more

We LOVE Ms. Alex at Kidsnips. She does a terrific job cutting and styling both of my son's hair. They have very different texture and hair type and she does great with both. She knows all of her clients and always talks with them and makes them feel comfortable and at ease. They've done a great job during COVID with masks, distancing out the stylist's stations and having strict maximum number of people allowed inside. Before entering your temperature is taken and you are asking Covid related screening questions. I feel totally safe taking my boys thanks to all of their precautions. Go see Ms. Alex! read more

We had researched a place for special needs kids and were excited to see this. But my six year old special needs grandson was just turned away. Very disappointed. KidSnips is amazing! They always run on time, and have combined appointment times that work with my busy schedule. We have never had a bad haircut. My kids always see Miss Alex for years now and she is seriously the best! She remembers them by name and knows their haircuts and style preferences. The store is in a good location, and filled with toys. The kids get to pick from a treasure chest (free!) and always leave with a lollipop. My son loves that he gets to sit in a little police car and play on the iPad while his hair is being cut. My daughter loves that Miss Alex gives her cute hair clips or a little bit of washable hair dye to change up her look. If I could give them more then 5 stars I would! I don't know what I'd do without KidSnips! We had tried cutting his hair at home which led to horrific results (bowl cut, anyone?) and my son freaks out whenever we're snipping around his ears. But the stylists here are not only patient, but they have a way of cutting hair quickly and efficiently.
