Nikki did a good job on my daughter's hair, but I had sticker shock at checkout. No clue it would be that expensive. I just lost my job last week and expected to go in for the regular $30 haircut, but it was double! Never going back. I'll stick with Great Clips that's got a more reasonable price and honest staff who would have told me the charges upfront. read more

Just dropped my 16 year old daughter off and when I picked her up she was standing while getting her hair cut and she did not get a shampoo/conditioner. When the charge was the full cost I asked why she wasn't shampooed I was told "you seemed like you were in a rush." When someone books a service, unless you say you don't want the whole service, you should get the whole service. Wont be going back. read more

I had an appointment with a younger lady and asked her for bouncy, chunky 90's mom layers. I came in with hair all the way down to my waist so she had plenty to work with. I made it clear that the stylist knew that I love bouncy and voluminous hair. Even showed her reference pictures. I paid extra for a blow out and a master stylist. Well I realized things were not going right when she started flat ironing my hair and I said I liked volume and bounce. When she showed me the final product, it looked like there was bangs and one layer that was significantly longer than the bangs. I also asked if the back was straight, she told me no it was curved, I trusted her & came home to see that it was straight. which I hate. I couldn't tell if I liked it or not because it was straight and I usually blow out my hair so I immediately came home and had to wash & re-do my hair regardless of paying extra for a master stylist and a blowout. She ended up cutting 7 inches of my hair off which I wouldn't have minded if I got somewhat what I wanted but now, I have not very much for another stylist to work with to fix. I usually get my hair cuts at the sugar grove hair cuttery but thought since they do such a good job, I'd go to the one closer to home. Very disappointed. Absolute garbage , my mother went in for a simple haircut after her hair grew back from losing all of it . And she wanted A LITTLE off the sides and the back . She should the younger lady what she wanted and procedes to cut off a lot from the sides and the TOP . I don't think someone can get more inconsiderate then that . Butcher! Save yourself the trouble, grab a bowl and cut your hair yourself. I went in, showed Katie a couple of pictures and proceeded to get the most ridiculous, horrible hair chop ever. She ran her mouth the whole time talking about how her husband and coworker drink on company property as truck drivers. How the coworkers exwife cheated and now he hates all women....blah blah blah. Pay attention to your JOB! I had gorgeous naturally curly hair I was proud of that just needed a little shaping, now it will take me a year to grow back after this hack job. I was DEVASTATED. She went on and on about how she studied my very hair type for a whole week in school. Goodness there is little to no talent in salons like this apparently. Once I realized she had cut my hair down to half an inch everywhere except the part I could see in the mirror. I made her stop cutting my hair. She kept combing it like that would miraculously fix it. I immediatey freaked and started looking up salons that sold wigs. But it was 5:30 on a Sunday night and nothing was open. She pulled me aside saying she was so embarrassed and didn't want anyone to hear that she was going to comp me for ruining my hair. Duh! Her coworker felt so bad for me that she tried her best to repair the road runner hair cut Katie was sending me out the door with. She tried, but murder can't be repaired. I need a wig or will have to grow thick skin after the Hair Cuttery destroyed my crown and glory. To make things worse, I was promised...teary eyed, blubbering, desperate and heartbroken, promised...to hear from the management. It has been 4 days and NOTHING. They could care less about me and my hair. So now, I'm warning you. Don't trust Hair Cuttery in North Aurora with your hair. Katie has absolutely no idea what she is doing, management is heartless and unconcerned with their customers. You are better off looking unkempt and unruly rather than walk out of the door like I had to. read more

Mickensey is incredible! She has colored my hair for the last 5 years and has never disappointed me. There have also been times where I have *thought* I wanted my hair to be cut way shorter than it was, Mickensey, knowing her clients, suggested we start longer and can always go shorter. Sure enough, once I saw the length what she suggested was perfect. She has a way of understanding what your vision when you yourself aren't even fully sure, and she completes better than you pictured! Fully recommend her! read more

The had good service and were very nice but i my hair is a disaster. I have dirty blonde hair and asked for light blonde highlights. I showed them a picture of what i wanted. light highlights towards the ends of my hair. They gave me full on streaks. Now I look like the bride of Frankenstein. I am so disappointed! First of all they said the wait would be 10 minutes which turned into 40! She cut my hair, really not that great. I had too her that my hair was naturally curly and when she dried it, it was half curly half straight and all frizzy. Then she told me it would cost 12 dollars extra if I wanted it straightened! What?!?! I noticed it was still wet and she not very happily dried it a bit more. So not worth the money. read more

I'm a big fan of two stylists there. I see Alyssa for Sarah. Both of them do a very nice job. They have recently remodeled and it looks new and clean. Never seems too busy. Haven't had to wait more then maybe 20 minutes. All in all a good value for the price. And I love my two stylist! read more
