Terrible customer service if i'm going to be honest. Staff has to be more nice and welcoming as well as more informative when it comes to selling items. I will not be returning to sell here. The cashier who helped me was rude and kept rolling her eyes. I'm not the type of person to get mad but she made me mad. Please do better in informing. I will never sell here again due to the fact that when I ask to see the items that they want to buy , all of a sudden an hour later they are already tagged and hanged ??? How does that make sense. I want to first say that I didn't have any issues with the staff. The staff was nice with helping me threw the clothing bin process. Now I will say I didn't think they take nearly as many close as I thought they would have but that's my opinion (I brought in pre-washed pre-folded clothes. Nothing was stains, tears fading nothing like that) especially because when I went through the clothes for my two boys and two different sizes the clothes were gross. That's the best I can say my youngest is in a 2T and I was looking for more sleeper like footed onesies, and every single soft one that I grabbed out had like caked on food or like just crusty all over the sleeves it was absolutely disgusting, and when I pulled down a couple of the walkers, they had like caked on food and like squeezy's splatter all over them like what are you doing and then you expect us to like pay you for clothes and toys covered in food and crap no and then for my eldest boy they just didn't really have that big of a selection. I was just really horrified on like how they allow clothes and toys to be processed through their facility thinking that unclean clothes and not wipe down toys is something that us as mothers or fathers would want to buy for our children. Overall, the only reason why they get two stars is because the staff was friendly. If the staff wasn't friendly, they would be getting one star because this facility is absolutely disgusting compared to the other I have been in in this state and throughout the country. read more

Parking lot is small but this business is friendly and helpful with cost for your children, it's very cool that they also buy clothes from you so it's not like a waste of money you spent that just goes in the trash. The store is 9/10 on organization and cleanliness. read more

I had all day to wait around, but when you want to get cocky and pissy over a simple statement, I'm out. Absolutely rude and unwarranted. We are your customer, you are the clerk. We are who keep you in business. I understood what you were saying, however to cop an attitude because I wanted to bring my basket back into the car with me and come back in a bit doesn't need your attitude on how I will lose my place in line. I could care less what place I am in line. I have all day to do nothing. I explained multiple times, that's fine I'll be right back....continues to repeat the same thing. Girl get some anger management if you want to work in retail, or work period. Idk if you are having a bad day, but damn way to ruin someone's mood. I am sure you are so psyched to hear about a used clothing store and want to know all about how I deal with used clothes so here goes... Bottom line my family and I have too much stuff. For one, my teenage niece apparently has more clothes than most of the people in North America (combined) and has single-handedly outfitted my cute daughter for the past 5 years. Great problem to have. Next, years ago we gave away our oldest son's clothes to cousins and nephews. They are now grown and some of the clothes have made it full circle back to our younger boys! Can't decide if the clothes have lasted so long because they are of high quality or are just very ugly and never got worn. Plus, I recently went Kondo on my closet and there is literally a 3' high pile of my clothes to be disposed of. But I digress, my sweet wife takes certain select stuff to be sold and we donate the rest. (Awwww, we're so nice...) Recently we were talking about her experience with ktk and why she has decided to NOT go back: First, I understand ktk it is a business and businesses need to make money but they are sooo stingy with the prices they offer. Especially compared to what they turn around and sell it for. Next, ktk is implementing a new rule to make you lay all the clothes flat because the employees are apparently too lazy or inept to unfold and evaluate a article of clothing otherwise. Also, they make you declare up front if you will want cash remuneration or store credit (if you choose cash they totally low-ball you, btw). Finally, when they are done evaluating your clothing and have rejected a large amount of your stuff they have the audacity to ask if you want them to "donate" the rejects for you. Well, that seems fishy; I suspect they are going to sell what they can and donate the rest and take the charitable contribution. To this I say "boo ktk!" There are other shops and we are voting with our feet. Uh, buh-bye. read more

We have been coming to this kid to kid location ever since I had my first kid (6/7 years ago). If I'd have known how much stuff they truly had inside; Id have come in sooner.. they had more then just kid clothes and toys. (The store was under different management at the time; it's quite surprising how much the current management has improved the store in its entirety.) Their maternity items would have been really nice to have since they were fairly priced and In great condition! (some were even brand new!) The price of maternity items and kid items in general are through the roof these days and I can't justify paying full prices for something that may only be used for a few months. My kids have fun every time we go in. (Which sometimes is a bad kind of good.) They have a little area for the kids to play in, they get to make new friends, play, watch and educational show, or try out a new toy they may want.. Here's where this love hate relationship comes in. It is very nice to be able to shop while your kids aren't whining in the cart and trying to pull things off shelves. It's also not easy having to explain to your kid why they can't take them all home (or why they can't have every one that they played with). The amount of amazing items they have is incredible. There's truly something for every type of kid and their prices are great. My favorite part is bringing in the clothes that no longer fit my kids (two months after purchasing them) and getting to choose cash for the items they were able to take or get 20% more in store credit to use on anything in the store! Personally I like to get store credit so that we get 20% more and use only that amount to replenish their wardrobes. They also give you more money for trade in items then I've seen anywhere. We get our costumes or at least pieces towards a costume idea, jackets, boots, sandals, shoes, baby tubs, toys and more toys, leotard, soccer cleats, bows, jammies, hats, sippy cups, diapers sometimes, and the list goes on and on. It's a one stop shop and is always my first stop. The one thing I recommend is to go in to the store when it's not a peak hour. It can get busy and it can be a lot to go through BUT it's so worth it if you are a deal finder/coupon hoarder like myself. We are moving out of town and I know that I'll be back at least once a month to trade in and stock up on the next season or size! Not worth the time. After shopping here for new items, I was curious and took in some used clothes to find out how much money they were worth and to look at their used inventory. While the employee was going through my clothes, I browsed the store. Racks were so stuffed it was hard to pull out a single hanger and look at an item. It was obvious the inventory needed thinned for quantity AND quality (DI looked better and the prices were similar). The counters were also stacked several feet high with inventory. The shoe area was also overly stocked-- generally all with shoes that looked like they were playground favorites and had little life left in them. So when I finally got to talk to the employee again, I learned some of my clothes were refused because they were too old and they weren't buying any more shoes at the time. It was a learning curve, no big deal. They offered me $1.10 for a Halloween costume, $2 and change for a multi-piece infant outfit and more I don't remember. Clearly waaaaayyy less than they were worth but there is convenience in not selling online or at a garage sale. I wanted to think on it and decided to come back another day. However, I got home, put the clothes in a corner, and went through them a few days later. The store had kept half of the clothes!! The bottom halves to multi-piece outfits were missing, hats were missing, part of a Halloween costume was gone!! The employee was so sloppy at going through tags and the counters [and floors] were so full of clothes, that when she handed me back my pile of clothes, a big chunk of my stuff never got back to me! Very Unhelpul. I've been shopping around for a used fetal heart monitor aka Doppler for a few weeks now and thought I'd try my luck at kid to kid.. I called the Layton store to ask if they carry Doppler's and the lady responded with "umm i don't know... but if we do it would be out on the sales floor" I then asked if there were a way she could check their inventory for me. Next she proceeds to tell me to "just come in and look".. as if it where a big hassle for her to walk around the counter and look. What a joke.. the whole point of calling was to avoided driving all the way there. Over all the employee was just very unhelpul and needs help with her customer service skills. read more

Don't expect to be paid much as they have to make some profit on resell, but it was totally worth it for our family not to mess with garage sales, KSL, etc. I highly recommend for gently used clothing or baby goods. Anything you want top dollar for isn't a good idea to bring here. Whatever they don't buy from you gets donated to Foster Care. So still totally worth it. read more

Since we're expecting our first child in August, it is tempting to go crazy and buy all new things for our baby. Kid to Kid is an awesome, money-saving alternative to buying all new clothing. I've even found clothing with the original tags still in place! Found a Gap sweater and sweatsuit in good condition for about $6 total. Those two items probably cost at least $20-$30 new! The staff is friendly but also willing to let you do your shopping in peace (a big plus in my book). Will definitely be visiting again. read more

Went in today with two brand new, with tags, Carter's fleece sleepers in size 6 mos. My mom purchased these for me at Costco - as I came to find out after trying to exchange them at Carter's - not realizing that it will be June when my baby is six months. Much too hot for fleece sleepers. Since my mother lives in SLC and I would need to go with her to Costco, as I don't have a membership, I figured Kid to Kid would be the best bet convenience wise. I knew I was going to loose out a little since I couldn't do a straight trade, but when I was told all I would get for these two items combined - which go for $10.00 each - was $2.40, I was floored! So stunned I put back the four items I was looking at and left. My $2.40 will be good forever, but there isn't anything in that store for $2.40. Except maybe the hair bows, but I'm having a boy. I'm currently kicking myself for not taking the items back so I could either see what I could get at Once Upon A Child, KSL, or taken the time and gas to drive out to SLC from Layton. What happened to Kid to Kid being a good deal? I was shocked at their prices compared to Once Upon A Child. And Once Upon A Child has just as nice, up-to-date stuff as Kid to Kid. In fact most of their baby gear (strollers, swings, bounce seats) are nicer and cleaner. I truly got robbed. I saw several Carter's items being sold between $8-$9, including one brand new with tags Carter's sleeper for $8.99. I didn't even get a quarter of the value for each item separately. Kid to Kid in Layton walked away with a better deal than I did. I will never shop, or sell my items, to Kid to Kid again. They have lost a customer for life. Shame! read more

They can have one star since they were nice but they were eating while working and looking through my things which I thought was unprofessional. I walked in with a lot of baby clothes, socks, shoes two mobiles and a Bottle Warmer. As they looked through my things they suggested I take a look around the store I noticed things were pretty pricey for used clothes and I noticed a lot of items looked old and faded but they wouldn't take my new never worn items. After a walk through I realized nothing was worth buying there because you might as well go to target and buy new clothes for the same price you would pay for old clothes at Kid to Kid I found it odd that they refused most things because they were barely used or not worn at all I didn't ask for a reason. At the end they told me they'd give me $14 for the two mobiles and about 20 outfits HA WHAT A JOKE! Youl have better luck on Let Go Mercari or Craigslist. Definitely not worth the time. read more

Not what I expected, business hours are different than the hours they will buy back items. Which really upset me because I drove an hour to drop stuff off only to find out they stop accepting items 2.5 hours before closing. Also when looking at the website it lists everything they are "supposed" to buy back and once again finding out they didn't accept any of the items I brought! I was told the website was from corporate and not all stores accept the same items.... Isn't that the point of a franchise?! Very frustrating and I would not recommend. Hope this review saves you a trip or at least call ahead before running into all these problems. read more

I have spent several hundred dollars at this store over the past 4 years. I went in today to try to sell a couple of boxes worth of clothing, and was told that I would have to come between the hours of 10-am and 4:30pm for them to look through my items. I am a single mom that works Monday through Saturday from 8-5, so it is virtually impossible for me to meet their 10-4:30 requirements. This is truly upsetting to me, as I have spent my hard earned money supporting this business, and have referred several friends and family members to this particular location. I will absolutely not be returning, and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more
