Gotta love The Lobby! There's something for everyone (that means US, dudes!) in this craft store. Whenever my wife says she's headed to this store, I always make sure to tag along. I've had movie poster-style posters framed and matted for the man cave. They'll match or beat and framing price of a competitor. Tons of cool signs and nick nacks for the man cave or the garage. My wife loves their deals on fabric, as well as all of the seasonal goodies to decorate the house and yard. Great prices. The staff are always friendly and helpful. When you walk in here, you'll discover 5 things that you just can't live without...that you only knew existed 5 minutes earlier. It's that kind of cool. read more

My wife loves this place and from time to time I get to tag along. This last time we went I was listening to the overhead music and was caught by surprise that they were playing an instrumental version of A Mighty Fortress is our God. I quickly found my wife to tell her and she reminded me that Hobby Lobby is a Christian owned company. While I may not choose to play religious tunes if I ran a business, I think it is cool that this company is willing to do that and they still have a lot of business. This is probably the most comprehensive craft store I've been to. And I've been to a lot in my 11 years of marriage. If it was a little closer, we'd probably spend more time here. read more

Hi, my name is tristan and I am a bead addict. I have a thing for beads. and as per usual, when I like something, I kinda get a little crazed for it. Please don't ask me how many harps I have. And for heavenly sake, don't ask me how many beads I have. I seem to have finally almost beaten down the yelp addiction.. at least for now.. so it just transfers to different items in my life. Actually the yelp addiction is a much more thrifty addiction.. must transfer addictions.. avoid harps ... avoid beads. SO, back to beads. Located at the back of the store, some 2 or 3 aisles of the beauteous stuff. Two weeks ago I proudly came away with only lobster clasps, what a good girl. But wait, did I mention this place has beautiful items for your home? Like, the Blue and White pottery area. Err, I also have a blue & white thing. Yeah. I allow myself a piece of pottery/ teapot/ extraneous item about every 6 months. Only if on sale, mind you and only if it is beautiful. Most recently I found some victorian, curly, wrought iron shelf brackets that rock my world, had been looking online for them for months. If you like a certain craft, or just want some cool stuff for your home, Hobby Lobby will almost assuredly fix you up. And btw, if something is not on sale when you go, wait a week and try again. Love this store has amazing prices and even better customer service and love everything they sell. Tonight walked it 10 minutes before close proclaimed I had 10 minutes i could do this. Crafting mecca! I liked Hobby Lobby when I lived in Texas, but now, after visiting the bright, clean and huge Layton store, I am now a serious Hobby Lobby fanatic! They have everything from silk flowers, fabric, scrapbooking supplies, framing department, paint, art supplies, knick knacks, brick-a-brack, model trains, planes and automobiles, home decor, holiday items, the list could go on forever. Use their mobile site for 40% off coupons (just show them your phone at checkout,) or just hope to get lucky on one of their weekly sales. The employees here are just another great part of this store. On our visit they were helpful and friendly and they had plenty of registers open to help us get checked out speedily. I came in to purchase 2 organizer cases different sizes same brand same color one was for me and one was for my sister since they were both there I decided to pick up both of them thinking that I could use the coupon on each one but once I got to the register I was told by Sandra that that was not an option I could pay for one and get it at a discount but I would need someone else to come into the store to purchase the other one but yet it could be my boyfriend and that wouldn't be a problem idiotic if you ask me so then I confirm with Pam who tells me the exact same thing after I purchased the first case I decided to call my sister she was at Michael's and told me that she purchased both cases there and that they let her use the same discount on both two separate transactions but it still worked out not that someone else had to come in to the store like they treated me at hobby lobby ridiculous so I asked if I could purchase one and purchase the other again Pam told me no I said OK what happens if I purchased the second case for my sister at regular price can she come back tomorrow and return it to get the discount and repurchase it same thing that would ultimately happened tonight but no they made it so difficult that was my first time in hobby lobby and I will never ever shop there again but all in all Alyssa who helped check me out was amazing very polite and courteous Pam and Sandra on the other hand may need to work on their customer service skills no wonder why I always continue to go back to Michael's even though hobby lobby has a huge supply of the inventory I can't believe that their customer service is that bad I still feel like it was two separate transactions I get the point in the end but if they were going to allow me to hold it until 8 PM tonight for someone else meaning my boyfriend to come get it then there wouldn't of been a difference in the purchase anyways read more

Worst customer service. Very rude and inconsiderate sales associates. They expect you to have a full understanding of there policies and procedures as if you were employed there. Signage in the store is inappropriately placed and misleading. It's an obvious attempt to deceive the public. Plenty of other hobby stores in the area. I recommend shopping them first. Plus other hobby stores usually offer coupons at 50% off 1 item unlike hobby lobby who usually only offers 40% off. read more

Lots of craft supplies for a craft addict like me. Too bad their customer service sucks. I went there last night to purchase fabric for a custom designed Halloween costume . I asked the woman at the cutting counter to measure some fabric; she measured it and then promptly turns and helps the woman behind her at the counter across from me. I am tired and annoyed, so I try to be patient and before I could blow my top a 2nd clerk appears. She shows me other fabrics in shades of grey, And we return to the cutting counter. As I am measuring to determine the amount need, a woman walks up next to me and asks for her fabric to be cut. I take my several fabrics bolts off the Counter and said I am leaving to spend my money somewhere else. And I did just that. I had a cart full of fabric, yarn, mask making supplies and shoe making supplies!! I am a seamstress and crafter who creates custom designs. I won't go back there again. read more

I like the variety of items carried, but also think prices are outrageous unless I happen to catch something on a sale week. However, if any large quantity of items are needed, hobby lobby has very poor methods for ensuring customer needs are met. They issue handwritten rainchecks, order from the warehouse, and it's kind of a craps shoot as to whether the warehouse will send it. I had this problem more than once. Then, when I asked if checking other stores for inventory was a service hobby lobby offered, I was told that I could do that, because "you're at home. At the store, we've got things to do". It seemed presumptuous of a manager to say something like that to a customer. Needless to say, after 3 months of weekly ordering and reordering, I was finally able to get something suitable for my needs. I will not be ordering items from hobby lobby again, but will only be purchasing items carried in stock, and only if they are on sale. read more

I was in Hobby Lobby last week in the framing department. Elise was working with me. She provided the best service I have received at any store in years. I brought in a poster and had no idea of colors for matting or frame. She spent a great deal of time with me to get what was best for my budget and would look great with my poster. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with customer service, anywhere. I purchased a huge $60 clock (reg $120) and it took a few weeks to finish our basement until I was able to hang the clock. When I took off the packaging to set the time I realized one of the hands was missing. Today I drove one hour round trip to exchange the clock. The checker, Kadra was awesome and told me to grab another clock. The problem was that the two remaining clocks were both missing all their hands! I picked out another clock on sale for $85 (with two hands) and figured I'd pay the difference. I recently renewed my drivers license and had my valid temporary ID. The manager would not allow me to exchange the clocks with a temporary ID. He said if I had been exchanging identical clocks he would do it but not for different clocks that I was paying more money for. I explained I would gladly exchange for the same clock if it had two hands! He did not listen, was very rude and just walked away. After all the time and stress, the awesome checker was able to look up the transaction and I left with a functioning clock. I won't shop at this location again. read more
