This was probably one of my better experiences there! Got the 6lb deal that came with everything - lobster, dungeness, snow crab and then we upgraded the shrimp to Kahuku Shrimp (must do!)

I'll probably never come here again.. dry, barely any sauce
Laula S.

Went here tonight, I've been here a few times now and things have taken a turn for the worst here. I ordered a crawfish bag, the crawfish were tiny, the shrimp was over cooked, the sausage is literally 2 skinny pieces of sausage for $58. I didnt even have enough sauce to scoop up there was literally no sauce in the bag, most of the seafood had no sauce on it. I tried to mix the bag and mix around the seafood in the bag but it did nothing. I had to ask for extra sauce on the side which was $7!!!!!! The waitress who NEVER came back to check on us FORGOT my sauce even though she serviced the table next to us about 3x since I asked for the sauce. I just sat there and waited, not eating. I had to flag her down AGAIN. She said there was a mix up.. where??? The other 4 tables that were seated? No there wasn't a mix up... you FORGOT.. I had to wait again for my sauce. By the time I got it, I didnt even want to eat any more. I had to ASK for my check, I had to ASK TWICE for containers because she forgot i had asked for them. She literally NEVER came back to check on us or refill drinks and water after she gave us our food. $65 for over cooked, under seasoned seafood and extra sauce. I'm so disappointed in this place and their food isn't cheap. Not to mention they charge $3 for 1 egg and don't even peel it for you.

We really love kicking kajun. We've tried a few different things and enjoyed everything. Going for lunch you definitely get more bang for your buck. Our favorites so far- Lunch boil- ton of food! So messy! Soft shell crab-my son's favorite! He says it's cooked perfect every time and we've lived in coastal towns his whole life. Chicken tenders. Don't judge me. They are good! Their spicy aioli is so good for dipping! Cajun fries or tots are always a good choice BUT sometimes they over season the Cajun fries and it's not great. It's like eating sand. Inside is cute. Love the black and white walls. No matter when we go in we never have to wait. My only problem is that even if we are the only table, the service can be incredibly slow. And I'm not talking about the food being cooked, but being checked on, drinks refilled...all the little stuff. That can be frustrating.

My boyfriend wanted to treat me here for dinner on a Thursday night because he got paid. I'm so spoiled by him. This experience was fun because he ordered the 6 pound plate that had lobster, crab, crabs legs, shrimp, clams, muscles, corn, sausage and potatoes. We ordered the medium spice level and this was pretty spicy to me but good. We got bibs and gloves to wear which was fun. We also got mozzarella sticks which were pretty fat and filling. For dessert we got the lava cake. This was good but very rich and had a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was good. Service was good by our waitress but when the bill came, it was quite a bit but worth it. I would definitely come back again but order the smaller bag. My boyfriend ended up taking the rest home.

Chicken tenders po boy with Cajun garlic fries

Wow, I was really surprised at how good the food was. We did take-out and just called ahead. I was a bit early so I waited at a table. The place is clean, does not smell fishy at all. Nice decor and the guy working out front was polite and courteous. Just waiting inside was a good experience. Now, we get home and open our plates. HUGE po boy sandwich and a heaping of Cajun garlic fries. We got a popcorn shrimp and a chicken tenders sandwich. The spicy sauce was killer and the coleslaw was sweet and complimented the sauce. To it with some pickles and tomatoes and you got a great sandwich. We also got a mini combo which was also amazing and came with a side of rice. I didn't snap a pic of it cause it honestly wasn't as presentable for pictures as it was delicious. It's Election Day and this was our highlight!

Tater tots with a side of gator
Natalie J.

Ordered the gator with tater tots and majority of the plate was tater tots. Looks like we ordered tots with gator as an afterthought. Kinda bummer. Tasty too just not what we were expecting ratio wise.

Crawfish combo with mild da mix sauce
Ashley J.

Great quality food. We got 2 orders of the crawfish combos with mild da mix sauce. It was delicious. Wish they gave a little more sauce to dip the food in on the bottom of the bag. The service here is always great. The atmosphere is clean and seating is spaced so well betweeen tables. Love coming here for a quick seafood boil fix!

Crawfish boil

As a Louisiana transplant who misses crawfish season, Kickin' Cajun came thru!!! My wife and I shared a crawfish combo (boil) with Da Mix sauce. Perfect! Crawfish, shrimp, mussels, clams, andouille sausage, corn and potatoes. My father-in-law had the shrimp pi-boy. Everything was great. Highly recommend.

Crawfish, Sausage, and Mussels

I recently went to Kickin Kajun with my friend and wow was it good.. If u are a seafood lover or just love getting your hands dirty, man is this the spot for you. I enjoyed some crawfish along with some sausage and rice. Its quite the combination when you combine that signature boil with your rice and sausage. Make sure to lather that baby up in sauce and boy u got urself a great meal. Kickin Kajun is definitely worth kickin ur family out the door to come and eat here!!

Sampler Platter - Crab Won Ton, Coconut Shrimp, Motz Sticks ($21.00)
Mona C.

Been wanting to try out Kickin Kajun since they opened at Windward Mall, but on the night we planned to dine in, the hubby was suffering from a major allergy attack, so we decided to just get some pupus to nibble on. An was so sweet, she helped me with the menu and made suggestions based on what I wanted to eat. Since I wanted to save the main seafood things for when we do dine in, I asked about the chowder and sampler platter. An said the chowder is really good, and the sampler was a great way to try a bunch of different items. My son was set on having some garlic Fries (since you can't go wrong with that), so we placed our order. The wait time went quickly, and before we knew it, An brought us our food and we were on our way home. Sampler Platter ($21.00) - 4 pieces each of Crab Won Ton, Coconut Shrimp, and Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, which was perfect for my family of 4 to try one of each, with appropriate dipping sauces included. Because I actually like all the items on this sampler, I can't choose a favorite... they're all yummy! Clam Chowder Cup ($6.00) - Okay, I will be honest... I was expecting a little larger serving size, but the flavor of the chowder and the fact it was loaded with clams made up more than enough! I would order this again! And the oyster crackers that came with it were nostalgic for me. Garlic Fries ($9.00) - Crispy and crunchy, loaded with garlic as expected - vampires beware!! The kids pretty much demolished this plate. Fried Calamari Platter ($16.00) with Sweet Potato Fries (+$1.00) - We love fried Calamari, and these were soo good that I was only able to snag 3 pieces! Guess I'll have to go again to get more haha! The sweet potato fries are a favorite of mine and the hubby's, so we enjoyed them thoroughly Didn't realize it at the time, but our order consisted amost entirely of fried items! And each item was perfectly fried and still piping hot when we got home, luckily we live just a 5 minute drive away. Looking forward to dining in on our next visit and trying a seafood boil!

Over 2 years later since my first review and this spot still hits! The prices went up as expected but the quality and quantity they provide doesn't disappoint. Everyone I've interacted with here is really nice. I've also had the pleasure of dining in when it's not busy so everything is really quick. However noticed they do get pretty busy during peak dinner hours when I was leaving the mall. They also offer outside dining but I've never been around with people out there. This spot is nice and clean and has a couple TVs that you can request to change the channel if need. This is one of the better shrimp/crab boils I've been to in the state but not sure how they compare to one's on the continent. I would recommend to upgrade to Kauai prawns if you can instead of the regular shrimp. They have three locations on island so they must be doing some thing right!

They do have one of the best waiting areas I've ever seen, as well as a bar area, to wait in, so you are not hovering over others as they eat. You can also order drinks and apps in the area. Their mango margarita was standout, "it tastes just like a mango!" The restaurant appears to be arranged so that most tables have some of a view of their open patio. Even with the rain, it was lovely, and they lit touches as it grew dark. The menu is the right size, I think a more focused menu lends to better food. We had difficulty deciding as everything sounded great. We started with their poke, very good, and nicely presented. I had the grilled fish, which was great, and my friends had two very different steaks. One got the prime rib, and it was on theme for our dinosaur tour at the ranch. It arrived as big as her head, all three of us could have enjoyed it. Great experience and I hope to return without the side of rain.

You can choose your broth and then first round of meats using the paper. You then go to the self-serve bar to get snow crab legs, veggies, noodles, tofu, seafood, sauces, and other items. The broth came in personal pots and took a little while to heat up and boil. Meats come fast after ordering. The self-serve bar items looked fresh and were in quantities where it seemed like they were changed often. The only thing I noticed was that the thai basil in the sauce section was mostly wilted and brown/black. Other items looked clean and fresh. The snow crab legs were fresh and tasted great. The meats were thinly sliced and were really delicious. I got the tom yum base and it was a very subtle broth and you could taste the lemon inside it. It was refreshing and light. I saw in the corner that they have an ice chest with ice pops inside and it was a good way to cool down after eating hot pot. Servers came by to take more orders for more meat and clear plates here and there. Overall, I enjoyed this place and would be back again when I have a craving for hot pot.
