I came in here just to check out the business. I've been next door so often, and I've wanted to check this place out for well over a month! I finally got my chance on July 4th, as they were open and I just had plans canceled. I walked in and immediately felt comfortable. The business is super casual and inviting; with the furniture, the decor, the games, and the bar, it's super inviting and welcoming. The employees who talked to me were so nice and genuine. They accepted as if I was already a regular, and it was amazing. I ended up hanging out at the business until about 1045 at night, just having great conversation and botanical tea. Also, the botanical tea was awesome with the plethora of added flavor syrups you can choose. I'll definitely be back. I felt so comfortable and welcome here! read more

This was my first time ever experiencing Kava. We were curious about it, as I know this place has been around for a couple months and is still fairly new. When we walked in, the "bar" was clean and the environment was super chill. Our server was very friendly and gave us all the details about the Kava experience. Kava comes from the root of the plant, and is used to produce a drink that gives off a calm, euphoric feel. It's supposed to treat people with pain, stress, and anxiety. The server warned us that the drink wouldn't taste the most flavorful. He was right- the drink tastes very earthy and bitter. However, we were given a pineapple slice and a cup of water. Kickin' It With Kava has been an amazing addition to the establishments on main street. It is far superior to every other spot down there in so many ways. Way more inviting, friendly, chill, positive, etc. I know they have had issues with 2 past employees (who have since been terminated). So, the one negative review I saw here is no longer an issue and I can assure you that if Dan (the manager) knew about that issue he would have gone above and beyond to make that situation right. We haven't been in there since last year shortly after it opened; but got some time to hang out and stopped by this week. It was amazing. The place just keeps getting better and better. Real conversations about genuine life issues, people enjoying and sharing life together, and everyone having a great time. Came to St. Charles for a bachelorette weekend, and we stumbled upon this place while visiting Main Street. We enjoyed it so much during the day, that we decided to come back later that night after hitting up some of the local bars. The selection of teas and drinks available are great -- everything we tried we enjoyed. Eli was super sweet and accommodating to our group, and even provided the bride to be with a free gift. Very disappointed in the business practice of the employee I dealt with at this location. I was charged double of what the listed price on the menu said for what was ordered. When bringing this up to the employee about how I was overcharged she told me to "get the f**k out of the store" and that it was my own problem. I then requested to talk to the owner or manager in which she refused to give me any information to help. I have tried contacting the store again during business hours multiple times and have had no answer. Strongly would advise avoiding this shop as they are very disrespectful to their customers and frankly all around unprofessional. It was my first and last time at the Kickin it With Kava. Not sure who manages this store location but it's run very poorly and they take no action towards making things right with their mistreated customers. Should of known when walking into a completely empty store that there's was a reason for the lack of customers in there. read more
