Very disappointed I am a regular and can't believe that every ow & then the checkout cost is way beyond the amount that's due. Not sure if the POS is failing there is a confusion in billing. I've taken many people to Cork and Ryan because it's a local hometown place just recently three of us were there and spent over $400 during happy hour. I know that is not correct but for whatever reasonindividually, the three of us were charged an amount that was way above and beyond the amount that was due and the bill was $300 during happy hour. I know there's something wrong. I hope they can fix this POS system otherwise I will never go back. read more

A local wine shop that places a huge emphasis on quality and clean wines from all over the world. Their wines are hand selected - assuring only the best! But the fun doesn't stop at wine, they also offer a variety of craft beers, bourbon & whiskey, quality liquors and mixers, and anything you can think of to put together a beautiful charcuterie board! We love stopping in their tasting room for a pre or post-dinner wine or cocktail. They also offer great happy hour deals from 3-6pm. $4 off glasses of wine and a $10 mini board (plenty enough to share among 2 people) are some of our favorite deals! This is such a great place for an evening out. It's a smallish space so reservations are recommended. I was greeted warmly as I entered the establishment. I was fortunate enough to go on a night that they had an Italian winery rep visiting and offering free tastings. I learned so much about wine in one night! Matt was a wonderful host. I was pleasantly surprised how affordable the wine selections were, and the level of expertise by the staff. My husband and I had a date night and we wanted something light for dinner. I've heard of this place before but never been so we decided to try it out. It's a small quaint shop. They have a few tables and bar. The ladies that helped us were very knowledgeable and friendly. I'm not much of a wine drinker but "When in Rome". My husband ordered a beer I ordered a Riesling and needless to say I brought home a bottle of it. We shared the Cork and Rind charcuterie board and added another cheese. Cork & Rind is a fun wine bar in St. Charles. It is definitely unique to the area and is an enjoyable place to get together with friends. They have a small menu serving small food and a good wine selection. They also have a small wine and cheese store to shop around in. I would recommend going for their happy hour where they have select $4 glasses of alcohol and snacks. This place has the best selection of natural wine in the St. Louis Metro Area (as far as I can tell), and the staff is incredibly knowledgable. We chatted a bit about wines I've enjoyed in the past and they were able to recommend a few bottles, all of which I've enjoyed so far. It's a bit of a drive if you live in the city, but they really have anything you could want. I docked a star, because prices are slightly marked up compared to buying from Little Fox, for example. Quaint yet tidy little nook on first capitol that sells mostly wine, but also has a selection of hard liquor/spirits, and some craft beers. Periodically has specialty tastings e.g. recently had Gin Girl Natasha over to do a (free!) gin tasting. Every Saturday, there's fresh bread for sale and let me tell you, this bread is killer. They only have it Saturdays though, so get you some!! The rosemary/herb bread is my flavorite. Really love the overall vibe of this place and best of all - the staff are SUPER friendly, knowledgeable, and sweet. Had only been my 2nd or 3rd time in, and they remembered my name. St. Charles really needs more places like this. I am tired of all the damn nic nac shops on Main Street, need moar booze shops, yo! But I like that this is off main because less crazy drivers and my car doesn't ride like a shopping cart on 1st capitol, lol. They DO have a small parking lot, btw. And don't accidentally park in the lot beside it (not referring to Crooked Tree) I mean the private lot, because I went over there once by accident, and some legit cray dude came running out screaming at me. This wine and cheese shop is run by Michael and Elizabeth with the help of Kevin, Katelyn, & Ben. They focus on boutique wines from both old and new world sources. You will not find Kendall Jackson or Debouf Beaujolais but you will find a better wine at the same price. They also have craft spirits for the cocktail occasions a good selection of craft beers from local breweries and smaller producers from out of state. The North Coast Brewery in Mendocino is my favorite. The cheese counter has a small but quality selection of local salamis. The cheese selection is quite good with Kevin the cheese monger happily handing out samples to make sure you get what you want. For many years St. Charles has been without a wine resource that is not Sam's or Costco. The staff is knowledgeable and will listen to your price requirements and preferences for flavor profile before making any recommendations. This is a great little spot to drop in for a drink and small plate. Choices include craft beers, unique wines, and whiskeys. Also can get a cheese board or a tasting board. We chose the cheese and crackers and olives. It was a good choice. We spent our time first talking about the craft beer choices; then wines with the wine expert and whiskeys with the whiskey expert. It was truly enjoyable. They also have a cheese counter where you can buy all different kinds of cheeses. It is a small place. It wasn't crowded when we went on a Thursday night early but I imagine it could be crowded on any given night. You can make a reservation. They also have wine and cheese classes. While, as the name suggests, this is more of a wine and cheese retailer, they have a modest selection of liquors. Some may consider their offerings of single-malt scotch sparse, but after interacting with the staff and purchasing one, I learned that is simply very well curated. This is a great place, if you haven't been you are missing out. They have a cool cheese counter, they will let you sample different cheeses before you buy. The bourbon selection is small but with brands you don't find most other places, and Matt will help you find one that matches your preferences. Came here on a wim in town for a wedding. Beer selection was not good. The reviews threw me off a little bit, seems much more focused on wine, which is fine. The beer selection was minimul to say the least, and the wedding was 4/8/17, but the best buy date of the beer I got was 2/17/17.
