We both ordered breakfast and also their fried pickles for an app. The pickles were not good. The pickle was like frozen cold and I also don't think the cream cheese is a good addition. The breakfast was pretty good though! I had chocolate chip pancakes, eggs and sausage. The eggs were cooked to my ordered temp and the sausage was good. I especially liked the pancakes! The spot is an old train depot (duh). We were sitting in the front room and sat in one of the old booths. It was SO quiet. I felt like all the others tables could hear my entire conversation. I think it'd be cool to be in the restaurant at a table next to a window while a train is going by behind the restaurant.

I asked if the corned beef was shredded or sliced, the response was sliced. What was served was a chunk of corned beef, over half was solid fat and the meat was so tough it was hard to slice. The cabbage, potatoes and carrots were so over cooked, they were mush. The waitress checked on us after my partner had finished his taco salad. Waitress apologized and removed charge from Bill. No one come to a restaurant hoping the meal they ordered is so bad it isn't edible, even if they dont charge you for it. The taco salad was also underwhelming, the shell looked good but turned out to be soft and soggy. Hard pass on going back again.

I appreciated that they had a "garden grown" section on their menu with vegetarian options. My burger was delicious and the coleslaw was genuinely the best I've ever had (a wild claim as someone who's lived in the south half their life!). I also ordered a seasonal coffee from their Valentine's menu that was raspberry and white chocolate flavored. I'm not always a fruit flavored coffee person, but River Stop Cafe does it well!
