    Bulgogi Kimbap

Pretty good taste and quality especially for a grocery type offering, though also a bit higher in price. - Bulgogi Kimbap: Dense and fresh, though bulgogi was a bit overpowered by everything else. - Original Tteokbokki: Good portion size for the price, though lacked a kick in taste. Space is laid out well so flow of customers isn't too chaotic. Processing of payment is quick. Vibe is generally pleasant. A pretty good stop if you're in a rush for something convenient that's also worth your while.

I swear every time I end up downtown, I'm doing a Kibo run. It's awesome, it's quick, it's unpretentious. Just grab-and-go Asian snacks and meals. I'm a big fan of their ready-to-eat stuff. They've got a good selection of Onigiri, hand rolls, sushi boxes, sandwiches, and salads. They also have lots of hot food, both Japanese and Korean. I saw Tteokboki and Japchae. And if you don't want a full meal, they're filled with plenty of snacks and drinks. Most are from Asia and have some sort of cute packaging. It's just a great place to grab a quick bite at an economical price. Sure, their Onigiri and rolls are not the cheap, but it's still less than $5. Grab that and a snack and you can have a meal for less than $10. If you want something more substantial, pretty much everything is less than $20. And what more can you ask for in Downtown Toronto?

This is my favourite Kibo location!! Next to the original Kibo is a market filled with Asian goods. The sushi takeout you pick up from the market side is cheaper than made on the spot sushi next door. I selected a few rolls and an app and everything was just as tasty. A few patios seats are available outside. This is a super affordable quick meal option!

It's a great spot for a quick grab and go meal, and in the evenings, they have great end of day deals on the food there. It's definitely not going to be restaurant level fresh, but they are still significantly better than other ready-to-go sushi bentos! (Not pictured, but the handrolls were pretty great, too!)

I went here 3 times over the course of 2 days because I love it so much lol. I love the selection of sushi, bentos, snacks, ice cream, Asian drinks, etc! They even have dacquoises and macarons! The sushi in particular is really fresh - high quality for takeout, decent portions at a reasonable price. At the end of the day they also have 20-30% discounts. Service is really quick, making it a great on-the-go option. And it's right inside Union Station! I wish I took more photos of the different things I picked up.

Situated in Union Station and very convenient for travellers for GO or VIA rail passengers. The market is grab, pay and go store selling a variety of Korean (or is it Japanese) ready to eat foods that you can eat on the go. There are quite a few noodles and foods that you can make in a microwave and some soft drinks as well What I like most of this market is that the prepared foods are clearly marked what they contain. For a vegan like me this is great. Some items are clearly marked as vegan and some unfortunately seem to be vegan ( the items are all plant based) but are not marked as vegan. I have tried a few items and they are good. Slightly on the expensive side, but I guess you are paying for the location and convenience.

This store is part of the Kibo Sushi chain. It is more of a grocery store, but they also sell some prepared food. It just opened on 2023-07-07 in Union Market. There are snacks, drinks, salads, fruits, hot & cold packaged food, sushi, cakes, etc. There is no free WiFi, but you can use the one from Union Station. The food stall is wheelchair accessible. You can use the washrooms between Union Market and Union Food Court. Review 2023-235

Came here twice in the past week. I was so excited when I heard kibo had a market! I love their sushi because the quality is reliably fresh and they don't skimp on portions. They have a wide selection of prepared and packaged Japanese and Korean food items cold and hot, snacks, drinks, and desserts. Bountiful options to make a meal as grand or as simple as you'd like. Food is also relatively fresh and they continuously restock the selection so you're not too limited with options. Some examples of what you can get and what I bought: scallop temaki, aburi nigiri set, bread roll, dango, Sakura mochi, seaweed salad, individually packaged biscuits (from those bigger boxes). Their end of day sale goes up to 30% off depending which you get. They also sell drinks that are visually/cosmetically damaged for 50% off. I liked that effort to reduce waste. Line moves pretty quickly, even when long. They charge $0.25 for bags with handles, but they also offer regular paper bags without handles at no extra charge. Located beside the York Concourse food court (same level), by the washrooms, in Union Station.

There's no reservation system but they do have a waitlist on Yelp which gets you in line (highly recommended). First to know is you can't pay with credit card here--there's an ATM in the front of the restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, it was fantastic from start to finish. Our table of 4 was seated and serviced by 1 main staff member, Lydia, who talked us through the whole menu and ordering system, recommended some great starts and then kept us frequently updated all throughout dinner. She checked up on us along with her assistants who were also bringing items and servicing the table. The food quality was excellent with juicy and flavorful cuts of beef along with the shrimp, pork, veggies, side dishes/ponchon, and rice--it kept coming consistently. Grill changes were frequent as well. The atmosphere is lively and there are a lot of servers so you aren't trying get someone's attention all the time. But it doesn't feel too cramped at the same time. As it is AYCE, everyone in our group left full of course and enjoyed each course. I liked the almond tofu at the end! ----TL;DR---- Pros: great selection of meats, quality was top notch, huge portions of course as it is AYCE, service was prompt and all staff were really friendly. Cons: no reservations so need to be on a waitlist. The no credit card system is a bit of an inconvenience. Bottom Line: we loved it--definitely would go back again and enjoy more of their selections! You have to try them if you like meat and AYCE!

We walked into a lively, casual space that works especially well for groups, celebrations, or any meal where you want to take your time and enjoy the experience. The energy in the room is high, with the sound of grilling and conversation filling the space, and the table setup encourages a longer, more relaxed pace than a typical restaurant meal. The biggest highlight is the meat selection. The quality is consistently strong, with different cuts and marinades that give each plate its own flavor. The miso steak is one of the standout items, with a really good balance of savory, slightly sweet, and rich flavors. The marinated meats are where Gyubee really shines, coming seasoned well and developing a great char from grilling at the table. We worked through a range of options including kalbi, hanger steak, and sausage, mixing and matching as we went. The fun part is being able to control the cooking yourself, whether you prefer a lighter sear or a deeper grilled flavor, and the grill setup makes it easy to cook at your own pace. The sides and extras are also better than what we usually expect from an all you can eat BBQ spot. The sushi was surprisingly enjoyable, with smaller portions that made it easy to try different rolls without filling up too quickly. The bibimbap is another good addition, especially when paired with the grilled meats. Takoyaki and other sides helped break up the meal and added variety beyond just ordering meat after meat. The spread is broad enough that you can build a well rounded meal without feeling like you are stuck in a single category. Service was a strong part of the experience. Even with the restaurant being busy, the staff were attentive and checked in regularly to make sure we had what we needed. They kept the table moving, helped with ordering, and made the process feel smooth despite the constant flow of guests. The wait can be the biggest challenge, especially during dinner hours, but the service once seated helped make up for it. The staff also handled the high turnover of tables well, keeping the pace steady without making us feel rushed. Gyubee is one of those places where the experience is just as important as the food. The combination of grilling at the table, quality meats, good sides, and a fun group atmosphere makes it a great choice for a longer meal with friends or family. It is worth planning ahead for the wait because the meal itself delivers the kind of relaxed, interactive dining experience that makes you want to come back. The format encourages you to slow down, cook at your own pace, and enjoy the meal as a shared activity rather than just a quick dinner.

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). Location is super convenient near Bay & Dundas, ambiance is very casual, and service is quick.
