I went on a spontaneous birthday trip and somehow made it all the way here! I had heard and seen a lot about this restaurant, so it had been on my list to try for a while. First off, the location is super convenient because it's right off the highway! You definitely won't miss it because of the bright, colorful building. As soon as I saw the garden outside, I already had a feeling the food was going to be the real deal. You know the food is good when it looks like someone's mother or grandmother is cooking with fresh ingredients! The owner and staff were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They even took the time to show us around the restaurant, which was a nice personal touch. The atmosphere was comfortable and had a welcoming feel. Now for the food! Salaw Machu "THE STAR OF THE SHOW!" If you've never tried Cambodian cuisine, this is a dish I would highly recommend starting with. It's a sour and spicy soup made with a lemongrass-based paste, and you can choose different proteins to go with it. The combination of sour, spicy, and aromatic flavors was absolutely delicious! Fermented Sausage Really good with a nice spicy kick. Personally, I like mine a little more sour, but it was still flavorful and enjoyable. Beef Sticks These were on the sweeter side but still very flavorful. Definitely worth trying if you like that sweet and savory combination. Chicken Wings The wings were crispy! I really liked the sauce that came with them it paired really well with the chicken. Kuy Teav (Kathiew) This was also yummy and a great addition to the meal. Definitely a comforting dish. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. From the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere to the variety of Cambodian flavors, this was definitely worth the spontaneous birthday trip! I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again. read more

I don't live in ATL, but my sister does, so I saved this restaurant on my "to visit" list for my next visit. Yesterday my friend and sister were able to visit and well..... So this place first got my attention because of the viral IG video about the restaurant struggling. I'll say it's hard to find if you are trying to drive and look out for the building. We both missed it and spent another five minutes circling back to the actual spot. The owner(?) was eating but told us we could sit anywhere and there were a lot of well worn booths, so we chose the best one by the window. The menu doesn't seem to be as extensive as what was online, and warning, if you are a pescetarian, there isn't much for you. The pros: We ordered the crab rangoon and it was freshly made and delicious. I do wish the dipping sauce was made in house, but oh well. My friend got what is considered the Cambodian pho and she said it was good, until (see the cons). My sister enjoyed her ginger chicken and I got the veggie version (which was just cut up bell peppers, it did not stay in my stomach for very long lol). The owner's beautiful grandmother was in the back making all the food and would come over and serve it to us, it was really sweet. The cons: When we ordered drinks, they came in plastic to go cups with about 97% ice. When my sister asked for another drink the guy said "no free refills", um sir, just get us the drink. We also got silverware wrapped in napkins, but two of the three were plastic. When we asked for more actual silverware, the owner pointed to a cart with silverware and napkins and told us we could help ourselves...um, ok. My friend said the meat was a bit tough in the pho, so she asked for a knife, the guy came back to us with a butter knife and handed her the knife "sharp" side to her. I said that's not how you give someone a knife and my friend said that she wanted a steak knife. He said they didn't have one and that she should just chew the meat off the bone. Um....he then walked away saying we were asking for too many things. Needless to say we won't be coming back. Clearly the biggest reason they might not have a bunch of customers is because it's kind of difficult to see from the road but the weird customer service took the cake. Of course he was super nice when we had to pay, but we definitely won't be returning! read more

This spot is a hidden GEM! The #1 Cambodian Spot in GA! I wish it was closer to me. The kathiew was so good, much more flavorful then pho! 100/10 I would get it over and over again Fried wings were fried to perfection and crunchy how I like them. The pork belly soup was another fan favorite and the eggrolls were to die for with the sweet chili sauce. I can't wait to visit again!! Check them out if you're ever in the area. read more

This is definitely a hidden gem. Customer service was a 10/10 Cree is awesome. he answered all the questions I had about menu items. I had to order my food to go but it was packaged well and no condiment were forgotten. The crack sauce is just that crack lol. The broth for the Kathiew was flavorful. I will definitely be back to sing karaoke with Cree on the weekend. read more

The restaurant isn't visible from the road but trust your gps! It is brightly painted outside and very old-timey diner inside. Five grandmas are here to prepare fresh food for you that is pretty darn good! The fellow who waited on us was happy to explain the menu. Kathiew with flank was really good. The broth is warm and rich. They give you bean sprouts, lime, cilantro, and basil to season it. The soup contained a generous amount of noodles and meat. They also offer a combination kathiew. Maybe I'll try that one next time! My husband had Bams Special. Three wings, rice, fried egg and pickled daikon. I also ordered the green Khmer tea. It is nice. Less sweet than Thai tea which is a good thing for me! read more

The food, pricing, and staff here are all amazing. Georgia's first and only Cambodian restaurant, so definitely an experience and what a place it is. To go down it very quickly; everything on this menu is great. If you have any questions on something the staff is more than willing to help you make a good choice. Be sure to get some Khmer Wings, they're super crispy and ta...you know what, never mind, don't get those. You don't want them... I'll have them all. The curries and soups are flavorful, and they really have an army of Cambodian grandmas in the back kitchen doing their thing. They're a bit off the beaten path so a bit easy to miss, but once you're in you're fine. They offer karaoke, the place is large and a great place to host a party too. Seriously check them out, they're nice and the food is awesome. read more

We are never on this side of Atlanta, except to visit a viral TikTok Cambodian pho place just minutes from here. However, they'd sold out of pho before we arrived, leaving us to search for a suitable alternative. Considering this place has been labeled as the ONLY Cambodian restaurant in Atlanta, we thought we'd give them a try. [ THE FOOD ] We ordered two bowls of KATHIEW, one regular bowl with beef steak and meatballs, and the other also included shrimp and a beef rib. We also ordered EGG ROLLS, KHMER WINGS and BANH CHAO. MEATBALL & BEEF KATHIEW | $16.99 Cambodian rice noodle soup similar to pho, but without some of the spices that make pho so fragrant and unique. (3 stars) COMBO KATHIEW w/beef rib | $24.99 Beef flank, beef meatballs, and shrimp noodle soup w/Beef short-rib bone. Lacking flavor and not worth the price (3 stars) BANH CHAO | $17.99 A crepe made from rice flour, water, turmeric, and coconut milk filled with ground chicken and bean sprouts and served with fresh herbs and vegetables with a sweet and savory dipping sauce. My wife ordered it without the chicken (3 stars) PORK & SHRIMP EGG ROLLS | $4.99 Includes 3 fried spring rolls and dipping sauce. The flavor was fishier than I expected. (2 stars) KHMER WINGS (8) | $9.99 The taste was just average, but the "crack sauce" for $1 was a worthy investment for the extra boost of flavor, making them the best item we ordered. I do think the crack sauce should be included for the price. (4 stars with crack sauce) [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] Most everything we ordered IMHO lacked flavor. I realize Kathiew is NOT pho, but still I was expecting it to be more flavorful. I suppose the most exciting thing about our experience here was learning the diner scene from the movie BABY DRIVER was filmed here. I crosschecked still shots with the current interior and it was indeed a match. read more

10/10 highly recommend. Service is super friendly. They invited us to come back in the evening because they do karaoke. He said they stayed up until 3 am the night before partying (shots are $8). We started with the beef skewers and the 24k gold wings. You MUST get the C sauce. The C stands for crack. It's crazy addictive. The right amount of heat, it's delicious. I couldn't get enough of it. The beef skewers are tender and juicy, and marinated just right. The pickled carrots and daikon balance the richness nicely. The wings were crispy and cooked perfectly. Dipped in the crack sauce, they were delicious. We both got the kathiew, and it's very reminiscent of pho. I didn't dress it with hoisin sauce or sriracha like i would pho but i did add a squeeze of lime and some chili paste and it was so good. Especially after a hangover. The Thai tea was yummyyyyy and the fresh squeezed lemonade (they were preparing batches while we were there) was the right amount of sour and sweet for me. I will definitely be back. I loveddddd everything and was so happy with that meal. Don't change a thing! read more

Five stars all the way for Khmer Bowl If comfort had a passport, it would be stamped "kathiew." The bowl I had was pure soul therapy. The broth was rich and layered, like it had stories to tell. Every spoonful carried depth, warmth, and that slow simmered love you cannot fake. The noodles were perfectly tender, the toppings fresh and generous, and the whole bowl felt balanced in a way that makes you pause mid bite just to appreciate it. And let me talk about Cree. From the moment I walked in, Cree was attentive, patient, and genuinely welcoming. Answered questions, made recommendations, and made sure everything hit the table just right. Service like that turns a good meal into a memorable one. Khmer Bowl is not just serving food, they are serving comfort in a bowl. I will absolutely be back. read more

Khmer Bowl is the only Cambodian restaurant in Atlanta and possibly the state of Georgia. I was excited to try it out as I have some family ties in Cambodia. It is nestled in an old diner in South Atlanta. The interior is very much like an old diner with the red booths and high countertops at the front. The restaurant was empty when we arrived except for a few old grandmothers, who serve as the cooks, and a middle-aged man who was the owner. He was friendly and humorous (stated that we could karaoke there or enjoy ourselves at the slot machines in the back), even offering to give us a refund if we did not like the food. We got the Beef on a Stick, Cha Kroeung, and Prohok Ktis. The Beef on Stick had a very sweet glaze which I was not used to. Usually, Cambodian beef skewers are more dry and have a lemongrass marinade on them. I liked the pickled vegetables that came on the side, though. They were very sour, which is how my mom makes them. My friend got the Prohok Ktis and she was not sure if she liked it, likely because it was a new taste. I got the Cha Kroeung which is a stir fry chicken dish. I had a hard time finding the pieces of chicken, which were cut really small, because the dish had a lot of vegetables. Overall, the dish tasted alright. I really wanted to try their Chicken or Green Curry, but the grandmother who makes the curries was not at the restaurant the day that I went. There were also non-Cambodian dishes on the menu, such as crab rangoons, fried chicken, and more. I think that Khmer Bowl has a lot of potential. Cambodian cuisine is hard to find in the United States, so I think that the taste is still very unique to a lot of people (such as my friend and myself). I am hopeful that this restaurant and Cambodian food continue to blowup in mainstream culture. read more

Khmer Bowl??? Baby when I tell you RUN. I had the wontons and they were so good. Perfect texture, flavorful, and not skimpy on the filling. The beef sticks were marinated to absolute perfection. Tender, juicy, and packed with flavor in every bite. Now let's talk about that Kathiew bowl with the beef short rib. The broth was TOP tier. I'm talking rich, deep, comforting flavor that tastes like somebody grandma been stirring that pot all day. The short rib was fall apart tender and seasoned just right. But my favorite? The Salaw Machu Krueng. Listen... it reminded me of our Mississippi pot roast but elevated and full of bold flavors. So damn good. It was comforting, hearty, and just hit every note. That dish alone will have me coming back. And the customer service? 100000/10. So welcoming, so kind, and you can tell they genuinely care about the experience. Khmer Bowl is officially in rotation. If you haven't been yet, go. Period. read more

Me and my family went to Khmer Bowl as I am half Cambodian and this is the closest Khmer restaurant to me. Everything we had was delicious and the staff was very helpful and even let me sample Prahok Ktiss which was soooo delicious. We orders kathiew (noodle soup), cambodian chicken wings with crack sauce, beef on a stick, Khmer tea to drink and combination fried rice. I can't wait to go back and try more. It is pricey but the food is delicious. read more

Pho (Kathiew) was amazing! The broth was perfect, rich, hearty, and full of depth. A lot of pho spots serve broth that's watery and flat but this one hit just right (coming from a Viet person). The owner was super chill and the ambiance had a fun touch with karaoke in the background. Hole in the wall! read more

I've been coming since they've opened, the new QR code menu is a big help. I usually get Kathiew but I decided to try to loklak this time; it was sensational. The garlic with notes of soy and oyster sauce were a great pleasure. The papaya salad with beef made a tart and savory mixture. Pro tip, you don't seem to season the salad but extra oyster sauce or chili oil won't hurt. Couldn't ask for more. It's a very homely ambience next to a hotel and gas station but the service is just as homely and friendly as always. read more

Atlanta's only Cambodian restaurant has blown my socks off, along with most of my tastebuds. This food is excellent. And you need to go try it. The restaurant is tucked away near Riverdale. It's in an old diner that was used in the movie Baby Driver. It's interior is still very much old-school diner, except they've also reserved space for karaoke, and you should probably go there for that, too. We were greeted by a very friendly owner and his staff. The man was immediately on familiar terms with all of us, and his humor only added to the experience. I got to try the Ginger Chicken, the Stir Fried Chicken, and some Fried Chicken. I like Chicken. Don't judge me. The Ginger Chicken was spicy in a ginger way. You know how "hot" ginger can be on its own? Yeah, well this dish was like that. Very flavorful and packing quite the punch. Delicious. The stir-fried dish was chock-full of hot peppers and flavorful in a very different way. HOT. Boy, that was hot. And the fried chicken was very tasty, and a good option for those of us who did not want anything too spicy. Everything on the menu had its own Cambodian name, which I can neither pronounce nor remember. I very much want to go back and do some more exploring. Holler if you're coming with. read more

The food was really good. The kathiew was delicious, I only had to add chili oil. We also had the chicken wings half Khmer style and half American style, they were also good. Now the kwa ko was fire! This will be one of our stops when we come to ATL. 10/10 henny shots read more

Tried their version of pho and it was good. The curry was awful and not fresh. The lemonade was good the tea was good. The beef stick had a weird flavor. The chicken wings had no flavor and it says 8 wings but it's four whole wings separated. The customer service was decent. Would I return probably not. read more
