Came out in search of good Padthai and was not disappointed. They actually have several noodle dishes of which you can pick out your protein and even upgrade the meal to include a large glass of Thai tea and two spring rolls. Also, they had a great appetizer section as well as soups and Thai salad. Fountain drinks are available if you are not wanting to tie try one of the Thai teas or coffee. Small location, but does have inside and outside seating. Order at the counter, but meals are brought to your table.

Finally a legitimate Thai food in Magnolia Montgomery area. Ordered Papaya Salad Lao style Black pepper pork (changed to chicken, they ran out) Chicken wing thai style Salad brought some heat so be prepared even with a mild spice. Fish sauce was pronounced but not overpowering Black pepper sauce is legit as I remember from all of the Thai restaurants I have been Wings were crispy and flavorful Service was excellent, place the order thru the counter and they will bring the food to your table Place is cozy We will be back for more

Our dinner last Sunday was hot and delicious! We live in the area and have been meaning to eat at Khao Soi since they opened. The ambience is very comfortable, inviting and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful in our menu pick. Khao Soi is a little gem hidden on 32907 Tamina Rd. We cannot wait to eat here again!

I loved it. Tasted like the sonic lemon cream slushie. I drank the whole thing and it was worth the money for sure. We shared a gyoza appetizer, and it was great. They were perfectly crispy on the bottom with soft texture on top. The sauce was a bit sweeter than a normal gyoza sauce, but it was pretty good, and one member of our party really liked it. I got the Tonkatsu ramen, and it was better quality than your average American ramen! The chashu was perfect with a slight crisp to it, the noodles were springy, and I enjoyed the addition of the bok choy. It was also the perfect amount of food. I'm actually sad this isn't in my local area. I had a great meal here and would highly recommend.

It does come with a sauce which helps, but I wish the chicken itself was also seasoned. As for entree I ordered the spare rib ramen. Again, the fried spare ribs lacked seasoning, but the fry was well done. The ramen was very light, almost too light in my opinion for a true ramen broth. The chili oil they have though is delicious and improved the taste of the soup a lot.

They did change the menu a bit, but it had what I exactly wanted. We ordered the Szechuan Mala Spicy Rice Noodle Bowl w/ Beef Slices, Popcorn Chicken, Shrimp Tempura, and Xiao Long Bao. The noodle bowl is the best. Tons of flavor and ingredients with the vermicelli noodles are just amazing. The popcorn chicken is delicious, nothing special. The shrimp tempura is delicious and has an amazing crunch. The Xiao Long Bao is more of a soup dumpling dim sum style. It was pretty delicious, but it didn't taste really fresh like you'd get from an actual dim sum restaurant. The staff are friendly and fast. Lots of tables to dine at. Parking lot is a bit small, but you can park on the other side of the buildings where there are more parking.

As we walked in the hostess/waitress looked at us and kept asking "what?" at least 4 times before she realized we wanted a table for 2. We were seated and we felt like we were inconveniencing the waitress as she seemed to not really want to be there at all. It felt like wanted to take our orders, and leave our table ASAP. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it did not seem like standard service. The "fresh" soup dumplings were so thick and chewy. Normally soup dumplings are supposed to be thin and delicate but these were the complete opposite. The beef noodle soup lacked flavor all around. I ordered it with wide noodles as the server told me they were around half an inch wide, my noodles came out and they were over an inch wide... which is not what I expected. The scallion pancake was the best item I had that night and that says a lot since it was probably frozen/pan fried. The poor service coupled with the food definitely left a bad taste in our mouths. I wouldn't go back or recommend this place to anyone as there are plenty of other soup dumpling restaurants in the Houston are

Albert, Susan, Jason, and I came for our first visit and ordered whatever sounded good, then shared everything family-style--which turned into quite the feast. We tried the pork soup dumplings, separate orders of steamed pork, chicken, and beef dumplings, the crispy beef roll, fried shrimp balls, pineapple beef, combo fried noodles, Mongolian beef, and the swan dessert. The pork soup dumplings were my favorite: hot, juicy, freshly made, and absolutely worth ordering. The crispy beef roll was another standout, especially with all that fresh cilantro. The shrimp balls were crispy outside and tender and flavorful inside, and the pineapple beef was served inside a hollowed-out pineapple with a sweet flavor similar to sweet-and-sour beef, minus the sour. The Mongolian beef and combo fried noodles were both good additions, and we had plenty of leftovers because the portions were generous. The value is honestly excellent for both the amount and caliber of food. I tried apple sake for the first time and loved it, while Jason's nigori sake paired perfectly with the meal. The food arrived at a comfortable pace, so we could actually enjoy each dish instead of having the entire table buried at once. Vicky was wonderful. She helped us understand what was in the different dishes and made excellent recommendations. The swan dessert had a red bean filling and came with "Welcome to Mimi Garden" written in chocolate, which made our first visit feel especially thoughtful. The restaurant was exceptionally clean, tables were cleared almost immediately after guests left, parking was easy, and the atmosphere was soft and peaceful with quiet music and low conversation. You can also watch the food being made through the large glass wall, which added to the experience. This place works as a hidden gem, a date-night spot, or a relaxed dinner with friends. Delicious food, beautiful presentation, great service, generous portions, and prices that make you wonder why every seat is not already taken. We will absolutely be back.

I've done Peking…read moreCuisine for years and shifted to Arco for my duck cravings, but if you're willing to drive out to Humble (pretty much anytime you're in the IAH area), you gotta check out Bamboo House for the best Peking duck. And their other menu items are fire as well! We went on a Sunday late evening. We had a 9 pm airport pickup at IAH so it was a perfect opportunity to grab a spectacular dinner and make the 30+ minute drive out to IAH totally worth it. Parking lot wasn't too full so that wasn't an issue. While the neighborhood ain't River Oaks luxury, it ain't too scary either. We kept it simple - ordered a whole duck and Bamboo House Special Noodle with Beef. This place ain't cheap but the food is worth every penny. It was very busy that evening so it's not a well-kept secret but also proves that eventually, Houstonians will figure out where the good food is. The duck was near perfect. They serve the duck with the pancakes (as opposed to the buns like at Arco) which is my preference. The soup that comes with it was also extremely flavorful. And the house special noodles with beef - oh my. I swear it's just one really long noodle so you may be frustrated trying to divvy up the family style bowl, but the labor is worth it. So good... Can't wait for my next airport run so I can sneak in a lunch or dinner at this place. So many other menu items I want to try!

I had previously visited the now closed Bamboo House on Westheimer and I remember being impressed by the food. I had to make an airport run and decided that it would be perfect timing to stop by this location. I highly recommend ordering the duck ahead of time, but we were lucky enough to snag one of the last ducks when we arrived around 7 pm on a Sunday evening. The waitress was super friendly and upbeat and the restaurant is older but well maintained. You can see where the food is being prepared/cooked and you can see ducks being cooked/warmed behind a glass window. The duck was absolutely spectacular with the perfect seasoned and tender meat accompanied by well rendered crispy skin. I love how the pancakes are paper thin and pair well with the scrumptious duck and other toppings. They also provide sugar and plum sauce as additional toppings which I thought was interesting but not my cup of tea. The duck soup was extremely flavorful and full bodied and went well with the duck. The noodles were also amazing with likely hand pulled noodles served with an abundance of tender beef and vegetables with a little Sichuan kick. I was intrigued by a strawberry chicken dish that I saw on the menu and I plan to try it the time. My diagnosis: hands down the best Peking duck in the greater Houston area!

Whenever we walked in for dinner around half the tables were full of people and service was still very fast. The interior of the restaurant is nice but nothing too standout from other Chinese restaurants. We got cream cheese puffs, house spicy wide noodle soup, a chicken dish, soup dumplings, cream baos , and a fish dish, and all of it was fairly good. My least favorite was the cheese puffs, which were incredibly hot but I didn't find much very special about either the filling nor the crunchy wrapper. My next critique is their handmade noodles. It is personal preference, but I prefer my noodles to be a lot more chewy and on the more al dente side of things, rather than the more soft noodles we got (both the wide and the original noodles). As for what I liked, it was just about everything else we got. The house noodle soup was nice and comforting, not being super heavy but still carrying good flavor (I would ask for the regular version and add in spice after tasting the broth). Both the fish and chicken dishes that we got were very interesting and I especially enjoyed the lightness of the fish dish. The soup dumplings we got were very flavorful, well balanced, and had a very bouncy yet soft wrapper texture. The cream baos, though admittedly lacking some vanilla and texture consistency across each bao, were still really good and comparable to ones you'd find in Bellaire. Overall, my experience was fairly good and I would go here again if I find myself in the Pearland area.
