We contacted Austin Pro Siding as part of a comprehensive siding replacement project, as our…read morefiberboard siding was end-of-life and starting to really have problems that would have only gotten worse. Along the way, we also discovered that we needed to have the roof replaced, and so put that in the mix for a bid as well. We contacted six different companies, each of which brought a particular set of strengths and challenges. We chose Austin Pro based on a combination of factors: personalized attention to our project, comprehensive estimate and explanation of each line item, and ability to get the project done on a timeline that worked for us. We chose to have the house re-sided with Hardie Plank, painted with Sherwin-Williams paint, and re-shingled the roof with GAF shingles. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the process of basically re-doing the entire house, especially when insurance companies come into play. To that end, everyone at Austin Pro was first rate. Before we even settled on a contractor, Paul, our project manager, walked me through the intricacies of the process, and spent probably more time than he wanted explaining how things would go, and what options we had. The bid was competitive, and the line-by-line items on the original bid made it easy to see what was going to be done, and what materials were going to be used. He was patient and courteous and flexible, and was also able to speak to us in a way that didn't make things even more confusing. Kevin was the siding project lead, and though we never met in person, I felt comfortable that he had our best interests at heart as he got the crew on site, working fast and efficiently to remove and replace the siding. He even called in the middle of the siding job to tell us that we didn't need something we thought we would, saving us money that we could then use for add-ons we didn't originally budget for. The siding install and siding paint was done beyond our initial expectations, with nice touches like window framing and utility box framing that I didn't even know we needed but now look perfect. We had the back door repainted as well as our front balcony and pillars, and the end result is fantastic. It really was done to the point where it looks like a brand new house, and not one built in the early 1990s. Paul was back on site for the roofing job, and the roofers did a great job removing and replacing the shingles and skylight with new materials, on a roof that is exceptionally steep and challenging. They had the entire project done in only two days, and it looks fantastic. Finally, Garrett came by to do the final walk-through and punch list check-off, and was a real pleasure to interact with. He fulfilled all the items on the list, at least the ones he could do on his own, and did so in a friendly, courteous, and extremely efficient manner. All in all, Austin Pro lived up to their name and to their reputation. It is possible to find a company that can do your big jobs for less, but I am not sure you could find one that could do it better. They stand by their work with a quality assurance guarantee, and while I don't intend to need it, it's great that it's there.

I am updating the review to respond to the business's calculated misrepresentation of the facts and…read morean attempt to minimize severe, documented building code violations. For prospective customers reading this, here is the verified context: Fraudulently advertising yourselves as a "James Hardie Elite Preferred Contractor" to secure the job, only to systemically violate the manufacturer's strict installation guidelines, is not a "punch-list" oversight--it is deceptive marketing and a material breach of contract. Puncturing an internal PVC plumbing pipe, illegally wrapping it in black duct tape, and immediately hiding it behind the new siding is not a 'punch-list' item - it is active fraudulent concealment. The 'Fraudulent' Financing: We authorized the payment because they claimed to follow actively concealed the duct-taped plumbing. Inducing a customer to authorize a loan by hiding severe damage is the legal definition of fraudulent concealment. Contradictory Public Statements & The BBB Complaint: JP Exteriors is using public platforms to feign cooperation. On our active BBB complaint, they claim they are waiting for our independent inspection report before taking action. However, their own written record proves they inspected the property themselves on June 11th and issued a superficial patching offer on June 22nd. The very next day, they explicitly stated in writing they were not willing to expand their scope to a full replacement, formally refusing to cure the hidden defects before our third-party inspection was even conducted on June 24th. The 42-page independent inspection report, which we received on June 29, definitively confirms that the widespread, concealed code violations and structural deficiencies cannot be resolved through superficial patching. The report details systemic failures, including improperly installed weather-resistant barriers, missing flashings, overdriven fasteners, damaged boards, unsealed wall penetrations, and an internal PVC plumbing pipe that was punctured by a fastener and actively concealed with black duct tape. The Manufacturer's Involvement: James Hardie is indeed involved, to the extent that the manufacturer offered to provide free replacement materials to JP Exteriors so they could execute a proper rework. JP Exteriors leadership actively refused this offer. We stand entirely by our documented evidence, our 42-page forensic inspection report, and our active fraud dispute with the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. The video proof of punctured plumbing remain on this review.

When was the last time you contacted a company you dealt with years ago about a problem and they…read morecame to your house and fixed the problem with no questions asked? There was no mention of time passed, fees, travel time, busy schedules, just friendly service. That company is Lion Windows. We first contacted Jaco at Lion Windows four years ago. We had several huge windows on our three story home that were clouded to the point that you couldn't see through them. We called several companies from window replacement to window "de-fogging" to glass companies. All told us the same thing; the windows were too big, too high, too heavy or inaccessible by truck. One person from a local glass company told us we should just sell our house! We finally called Lion Windows and spoke with Jaco. He looked at photos then came out to look at the house, the accessibility and the height and size of the windows. He said he could replace the windows and gave us an estimate. When someone says they can do something that several others said is impossible, you have to wonder if you're going to be swindled. We did not get that feeling from Jaco and found him to be honest, sincere and attentive to our questions. Due to their expansiveness, the windows had to be specially ordered. When they finally arrived, a crew came out to deliver and install them. It was incredible to watch as the windows are huge and heavy but they knew what they were doing. The installation itself went smoothly but one of the workers accidently spilled a basket full of shells into the toilet. Jaco paid for a plumber to come out and when we found that the toilet couldn't be cleared, he had the toilet replaced. Talk about service! The windows were installed and are beautiful. Recently, after years, we had a slight leak, not due to the window installation but because of the house shifting. We contacted Jaco for advice and he came right out, checked, caulked and made everything secure again. We cannot tell you how confident we are in recommending Lion Windows to you. You will not find a more honest, competent or friendly window service anywhere.

A partial response to Mr. Jaco's response is as follows:…read more One of many examples of the deceptive (IMO fraudulent) acts perpetrated by Conradie is that none of the 5 exterior full light doors where of the PlastPro Nova 90 series specified and agreed to, which is a full fiberglass constructed with flush inline glazed glass patio style exterior door. Instead, after 6 full months of delay post signing, Conradie delivered 4 of the 5 inordinately long anticipated doors that turned out to instead be Therma-Tru brand doors with framed glass panel screw-in inserts, which are are of far lower cost and far less atheistic design. Despite being informed of the unacceptability of those 4-doors, Conradie refused to replace them with the correct agreed on PlastPro Nova 90 series doors. Next, after another totally unbelievable 5-months of delay (i.e. 11-months after agreement signed), a totally imposter door was delivered that Conradie claimed to be the 5th and remaining exterior full light, mini-blind, flush inline glazed glass, fiberglass door. Instead, the actual door delivered was a hack-together of a PlastPro solid commodity door slab that was manually center cut-out and cobbled together with an inferior 3rd party branded framed glass mini-blind screw-in insert at an American Building Supply Co. warehouse or shop facility, and extremely poorly done at that. Further infuriating, it was delivered to the job filthy dirty/stained, in severely damaged and broken condition, and totally bare of any typical and required industry standard factory protective and sealed palette mounted and outer solid framed packaging. See the 2nd and 3rd attached photos. Zooming the 2nd photo will show all of the frame damages. All in all, this event amounted to a totally nasty, dishonest, attempted cost cutting imposter caper. The 4th and 5th photos show the PlastPro Nova 90 series door that was specified, agreed to, and never delivered. Also, in some instances Conradie held my 50% funds deposit for months and in one case approx. 8-months before ordering some of the window and door units specified and agreed to in Conradie's sales contract. In that case, the product (a very large dinette sliding window) was not delivered until 11-months post signing of the agreement. Furthermore, it was defectively installed too tight and crooked that it still to this day rubs and bangs when operated (opening & closing) as well as not being fully close-able such that the lever locks can be all the way engaged into the sash frame slots. To make matters worse during all installation events, Conradie's hack installer (Chuck) left several windows defectively installed such that the frames are not straight and true. Instead, several have frames bowed-out in the middle such that there exist unsealed air/light gaps between the glass sash panel frame and the units outer frame (not good in a driving rain). While others were installed bowed-in or crooked such that the glass sash panel is far to tight or crooked to operate smoothly. As a result, there is nothing further with respect to warranty action that the manufacturer (Marvin) can or will agree to do. Also, if you want to experience an installer's son (or stepson) who likes to spend anywhere from 90 minutes to over 2-hours in one of your bathrooms every morning and every afternoon after lunch apparently goofing or partaking in some sort of nefarious mind-altering substance, then Chuck's Carpentry Services is a great choice!
