The hard biscuits
Lasheera C.

GO TO EZELLES FAMOUS CHICKEN INSTEAD. I went here and I hadn't eaten all day! You know it's hard to not like food when you're HANGRY. Very disappointed, I ordered some biscuits and they were hard as a rock. The chicken was dried out and looked like a baby chick by the size. How are you close to Popeyes tasting like that? Do you even WANT to stay in business? Y'all act like y'all just don't care about nothing. Go order some Ezelles and take notes! I'm still mad I spent $11 for hard cold food!

Chicken is old and soggy absolutely disgusting.

That being said, I eat here occasionally and would enjoy coming back. I would appreciate better service, yes. And a shorter wait time. Especially when people that ordered after me are getting their order first. This is a busy location. They have at least 8 people working here. Only one is at the front register. And this person is not very attentive or customer service oriented in my experience. They now have a system of ordering whereby you can order on an app, a touch screen inside the restaurant, at the drive through or at the counter, and there are couriers picking up food for those who must not, or cannot leave the house. So they use a large printed number system on your receipt ticket. There is also a screen showing which order number is being served currently and which numbers are being prepared. Helpful, yes, but only if the numbers are actually used effectively does the customer benefit. Every other number I saw on that screen was called out as the order was presented. When my number was on the now serving side, I did not hear a number called, nor did anyone acknowledge that there was an order ready to go. I waited...I waited....I waited.... no number called, no "your order is ready," no eye contact. Finally, when no one came to the counter to call the number, and the register worker was free, I approached to ask about my order. "Oh, it's here," she said (bag sitting on counter, unattended), "I said Big Mac and fries." I'm thinking: Um, really? Because that is not my number, and I'm certain you did not say a word about it, because I did not see or hear anything from you. McDonald's seriously, if you are going to use a number system, be consistent. It's confusing enough with your billboard video menu, don't make things harder than they need to be for the customer, you know, the peo whose business you count on.

Then I ended up getting the wrong order so I had to go back through the drive-through and get my order fixed. Had to wait EVEN LONGER, like, 25 minutes to get TWO BURGERS. TWO. This place is absolutely ridiculous and need to get their shit together. Worst customer service I've ever recieved.

Was trying to hit a place on the Nacho Week list, and while I lucked out on that, I found this gem…read moresomewhat nearby (thank you yelp for being able to filter places that are currently open and getting good reviews!). I ended up out here about 10:30pm, and I'm used to places not being open as late as they advertised, but it was easy to find and open. Couple notes, there was a cool Gyro cart next to it, both looked good, but I chose the Philly Cheese Steak. There are tables and covering outside, which was nice to be able to sit and eat without trying to get the food home and hope it would still be hot. When I got there, there were a few people around but it wasn't slammed, and I was able to order right away. Went with the Philly Cheese Steak, and it was pretty good. The sandwich had some real perks, they used day old bread, which is the perfect bread to use for a Philly, it's a little stiff and does a great job of not crumbling with juices. The onions, beef and peppers all had distinct flavor. Is it the best Philly I've ever had? Nah. But is it pretty damn good for a Philly at 10:30 at night? Ya. It was grilled fresh, my food was probably out in under 10mins. The two gentleman working the booth were friendly, and it was $13 for the sandwich/fries and .$50 for a card transaction. For dollar/quantity value, it was very solid. I honestly expected it to be half the size and light on meat, but I was pleasantly surprised on both. One pet peeve of mine is cold/stale/lukewarm ie trash fries. Nothing worse than getting fries and having them just absolutely kill the meal by having to drown them in ketchup or just throw them away but...this wasn't the case here! I watched them put the fries in, and so when I got them, they were fresh, hot and seasoned, which was a definite bonus! They also threw in a couple sauces, it was dark so I couldn't see exactly what they were, but some kind of hot sauce and maybe a cheese sauce? Both were pretty good, I'd definitely get both again.

It took a while to get my order, but it seemed as if they hired a new worker and were showing him he ropes on how to properly make a good cheesesteak sandwich. The person teaching seemed like he had a passion for the craft of assembling and making the sandwich. But needless to say, he did, because it was pretty fire in my opinion. The beef was delicious! Very well seasoned and accompanied by the onions and swiss cheese, the sandwich was to die for! The peppers worked extremely well, and the roll that they used was super soft and toasted as well. The presentation of the sandwich was simple, but you're able to peer directly in and see all the ingredients inside the sandwich. Beef was tender and each bite was a melty, cheesy, burst of flavor in my mouth.

Its quite a family look with a little lady making tortillas behind the counter from a bag of dough and a press. We ended up getting quesobirria tacos, chorizo tacos, pozole, qnd a couple other things but those stood out. They were great and i could survive on those alone. Was kinda surprised they didn't offer chips and salsa though even as a side dish. I ended up getting some extra tortillas just to have and they were great with some beans and salsa that they did have. The salsa selection was fairly limited. There was a salsa bar with the usual thin salsas green and red and some spicy carrots and radishes and a couple other things but nothing really unique. The price is right, the quality was great and cool to watch it all being freshly prepared. just watch out for the bus terminal that drops off next door - luckily we came right before as the line was 30 deep when that let off but they worked their way through pretty quick!

We went straight to the counter & ordered Tacos, but instead of $1.50 it's $1.75. We didn't know what their regular price was. For us, it was way out of our way, to drive here 148th & SE Stark, for we were heading to Jantzen Beach for an errand, from around the Roseway Neighborhood. The guy at the counter, didn't seem to understand what I was talking about, he keep looking at the other guy for answers or to translate, or ? We ordered 5 tacos, to go. The tortilla was handmade, the lemon was cut so big, it was hard to get any juice out of them. I thought, the el pastor was like any other food carts. Do we want sauce? Yes. He gave us two types, hot & hotter, but none was mild, which I liked. (He didn't ask). There are enough napkins to go, mostly from wiping our fingers from the messy-hard to squeeze lime juice. (My tip: cut into thick slices, but cut off the ends, then cut them into halves. Hope that helps. It should be squeeze with 2-3 fingers, not 10). Anyway, here trying to help them out. And we did!
