However, if you give them a go, you'll find friendly staff, and decent food at a very reasonable price. Brodie's main competitors are probably Red Rooster, and in my opinion, Brodies offer better food at better prices. Sure it ain't fancy, but it's honest food.

This jiving place feels so systematic with their rebellious street style that it comes across as too neat and organised. Still looks cool, even if it's from the corporate hood. You get to choose the sauce that coats your chicken. Soy garlic, hot or mixed. I opted for the mix. There is a variety of sides, rustic chips, sweet potato fries, Japanese rice, petite tofu salad or kimslaw. Ordered three drumsticks, rustic chips with seaweed seasoning, and a soft drink for a total of $16. The chicken, while not what I'm use to, was divine. The crispy skin cracked beautifully to reveal moist hot chicken. The chips, which I was told would be salty, didn't taste much like anything and I had to cover them with table salt. I was hoping for a little spice from the mix coating, but not even a tingle. I hope to visit again soon. With everything made to order and the chicken being hand brushed and free-ranged I know that every meal will have outstanding quality.

When I first entered I was warmly greeted. I told the man I was new to the restaurant and he began by explaining the options and recommending dipping sauces with excitement in his voice. I placed my order, chose my sauce and waited. When the food came out - super quickly, might I add! - the server added a second sauce, on the house, saying he wanted me to experience his favourite. In addition he gave me a fourth tender for free to use on the sauce so I didn't use one of the three I paid for in the off chance I didn't enjoy it. Now THAT is service and TLC. Summary: delicious food, massive portions, wonderful staff all for $9.95. I will be back with friends. Thank you!

Their fried chicken sandwich here was great ($17) and the creamed corn was delicious. The mac and cheese ($1 extra as a side), though, is sadly not recommended. Apparently Australia doesn't do orange-y, sharp, American cheddar, but I had higher hopes for a mac and cheese dish. It didn't taste very cheesy and was overall a disappointment. Not creamy either. Still, overall experience was fine. It was also super loud on a weekday night (had to yell to communicate). They have some American beers and were even showing NFL football on the telly, so that's fun. Apparently this place is similar to Belle's in Sydney/Melbourne.
