The first chicken wings we got were a respectable size, the sauces were good, the ribs were better. The chicken strips were good, big and meaty. But, as time has gone by, the prices have increased, and the food has deteriorated. The last time I got wings, they were smaller than any I have ever seen. The mackluck was disappointing for my wife. We went by last Saturday, the wings portion of the menu was missing, and the place appeared closed.

After quite a few "um"s and "just a second"s I saw my order on the screen. I had ordered a meal and told them I wanted to "make it large" I saw that he had rang up a large fry but a medium drink. It wasn't what I ordered but I was fine with it. I pulled around to the window and there was a lady who was obviously showing the young man how to fill the order. She was filling a medium cup with a confused look on her face. I watched as she scrutinized the receipt, empty the medium cup, and filled a large one. She had obviously noticed the mistake. My only question was, why didn't she pour the contents of the medium cup into a large one instead of wasting it? I drove away with my food just a few minutes later. As I drove, I ate a pretty decent sandwich. I just wish it didn't have that huge slice of tomato on it. We were all new at something at some point in our lives. I don't mind when a process is slowed because someone is learning the ropes. However, unless the person who put together my sandwich was new too, they messed up with the tomato. They lost a star for that.

Hello, my name is Spike! Until today I had been clean, no Larb for 5 months…read more Thai Chicken Bowl operates in an old gas station in Charleston, AR. It is a bare bones mom and pop operation. The restaurant is barren of décor and a vacuum of ambiance. Order at the counter. The food is delivered to your table. Minimal but adequate service. For some reason, I don't know why I ordered the stinky beef Larb. I just don't know why. Too late now. I liked this Laotian version even with the smelly overtones of fish sauce. Am I hooked on Larb, or is it self-mortification? Neither, I think I have accepted the challenge to master my phobia of fish sauce. And frankly I have found that good Larb is well ....pretty good. The description on the menu "Spicy Beef" sucked me in. The meal was filled with thin sliced steak, noodles some type of greens, seasoned with chili pepper and a vinegary sauce. Not too bad. My wife had the Coconut Fried Rice with Chicken. A big plate of food, but not outstanding taste. The Egg Drop soup was fair. It could have been a little hotter (temp). The restaurant has a big varied menu. Chicken Fried Rice seems to be the restaurant's signature dish. Charleston is a small town. I'm thinking the locals appreciate having an Asian food option.

The last time I was there - a young man was working the cash register and taking orders. He was polite and friendly and did an excellent job. A teenage student and his friend entered the line and snickered and laughed and poked fun at the cashier - seemingly acting as if they were better than the cashier and as if the "working class" guy at the register was deserving of being made fun of. I was offended at the actions of the customer in front of me - but I was extremely impressed by the cashier who kept his composure and was polite in the face of the sarcastic customer who was inappropriate. I admired both the professionalism and the obvious management training and preparation that had been done to help teach the cashier how to respond and move on without allowing himself to be tripped up by such poor customer behaviors. Way to go to the excellent customer service and great food!
