I decided I would use the drive-thru window because I didn't want to walk through the haze of cigarette smoke to get into the building. Nothing says, "Hey, come on in and eat. Our customers are our most important priority." like five of your employees standing three feet from the door and smoking cigarettes. I ordered my food and pulled to the window. A slightly older woman took my money and then disappeared for a few minutes. Apparently, she went to make my food while her coworkers finished their smokes. When I drove off a couple of minutes later, three of the people were still out there. Real classy. Taco Bell isn't my favorite fast food but every now and then I'll get a yearning for it. I think I'll suppress that desire and just keep driving the next time I'm in Booneville.

After quite a few "um"s and "just a second"s I saw my order on the screen. I had ordered a meal and told them I wanted to "make it large" I saw that he had rang up a large fry but a medium drink. It wasn't what I ordered but I was fine with it. I pulled around to the window and there was a lady who was obviously showing the young man how to fill the order. She was filling a medium cup with a confused look on her face. I watched as she scrutinized the receipt, empty the medium cup, and filled a large one. She had obviously noticed the mistake. My only question was, why didn't she pour the contents of the medium cup into a large one instead of wasting it? I drove away with my food just a few minutes later. As I drove, I ate a pretty decent sandwich. I just wish it didn't have that huge slice of tomato on it. We were all new at something at some point in our lives. I don't mind when a process is slowed because someone is learning the ropes. However, unless the person who put together my sandwich was new too, they messed up with the tomato. They lost a star for that.
