They where really busy they said so ill give them that but I got a cheeseburger and fries and it was covered in mustard and ketchup no mayo the bread was soggy and the fries where hard and inedible it was cheap but they could have Definitely done better. read more

It looks to have been around for quite a few years. The spacing of multiple doors located on the front of the building, hint that in its early life it may have been operated as a small motel or roadside cabins. Country décor inside, knotty pine, barn tin and farm tools on the wall. Grab a table. The well-worn menus have the diner foods you were expecting. Beans and corn bread, a southern staple was today's special on the chalk board. On the menu under Platters is "Mel's Famous Chicken Fried Steak." Under that, the Chicken Fried Chicken. Two please, with mashed potatoes, fried okra, and cream gravy. The drinks are limited, but they did have diet Dr Pepper. A delicious, moist chicken breast with a perfect crispy crunchy coating. Mashed potatoes and cream gravy, likely instant but very tasty. Golden brown okra and a couple of fresh yeast rolls to clean up any stray gravy on the plate. Nothing fancy, great food, adequate friendly service. And an opportunity to enjoy a slower pace of life in rural Arkansas You will quickly figure out that this is an Amish owned business. The friendly ladies working out front were dressed in a traditional Amish conservative attire, which included the white bonnets. I cannot help it, but the bonnets remind me of coffee filters. A gentleman stepped out of the kitchen sporting the Amish bowl cut hair style with the traditional trimmed beard. These are hardworking people serving legendary delicious Amish made meals. read more

Prices have gone up and hours have gone down. No more large to go cups and a surprise at the end if you want to pay by credit card...tack on and additional 3% fee! I found this place on yelp, it was one of the only places for breakfast for miles! It was a pretty great little place! I got an omelet and hash browns, and my husband got biscuits and gravy and was very pleased! It wasn't the best I have ever had, but it is good for the area. read more

I have driven by this cafe thousands of times but I've never bothered to stop. I have noticed that they always have a really good crowd. My family happened to be driving by and I thought this would be a good time to try out this little cafe. Plus, it was my birthday so my wife offered to pay for my lunch. Yeah, she's a real big spender. The menu was a standard roadside cafe offering. Then I noticed a board on the wall advertising several BBQ dishes. I chose a pulled pork burrito because I've never heard of such nonsense before. The burrito was great. If you would have removed the "fixin's" and the shell and just gave me a plate of pulled pork I would have been just as happy. It was smokey and oh so tasty. I didn't even bother putting any sauce on it. It was fine the way it was. I will be going back! By the way, I dinged them one star because the men's bathroom was filthy. Not dirty, but there were paper towels and TP all over the floor. It looked like a kid had been playing in there. The place was not so busy that it couldn't have been cleaned. As a matter of fact, I think there was only one or two other tables being used. One last thing. My wife ran out to "get the kids in the car" and left me with the check. Went to Highway 10 Cafe one evening with my family. There were 5 of us. I was truly disappointed with the service. We arrived and were seated. Our wait for food was about 1 hour. The problem was 2 tables were served before us that arrived after us and to go orders were going out the whole time while we sat. Just as we started to walk out, finally our food arrived. The chicken fried steak is truly spectacular at this cafe, but beyond that, the food was just plain ordinary and I felt like it was overpriced for what we received. We haven't been back and don't intend too, ever. It's a shame too, cause the place is cozy and wait staff was polite, it's just the kitchen setup is totally wrong. Service has always been slow, but to wait an hour while to go orders get priority over in-house guest. Had they been short handed or something and informed us, we could have decided whether we wanted to wait or stay. Nope, not doing it again. read more

Worst dinner I think I have ever had. White gravy over peppered, chicken fried steak had been cooked earlier & just reheated, baked potato not done & cold, sent it back guess they tried nuking it came back wrapped with fresh unwrinkled foil outer edges hot but still cold in middle & of course still not done, corn was overcooked I guess not sure just really funky tasting. Great little waitress tho! Also name has changed to Mel's Diner I don't know if that has anything to do with quality or not. Use to really enjoy this Diner but I will not be going back! read more
