I work about a block away from Rye Society and finally stopped in for a sandwich a couple of weeks ago. The people are so nice and the pickup orders are on a shelf ready to rock. I love their ciabatta because it isn't crispy. I hate a super crunchy sandwich. Give me the fluff!! Veggies are fresh. Get the horseradish aoli (maybe double), it's my favorite part. A surprise win? the sweet potato salad as a side instead of chips. I was honestly shocked by how much I liked this. They've somehow manage to make slightly crunchy cold sweet potatoes in dressing an absolute hit. The pickle on the side is a bonus too. The first time I picked it up for lunch I dropped my pickle on the floor at work and I'm still upset tbh. Most of the sandwiches end up being somewhere in the $15 - $18 range, but that's expected in this neighborhood. i was too hungry to get good photos but i am truly happy about this one!!

It felt like I was back in my heavily Jewish populated hometown of Boca Raton Florida. Soup and matza had Very good flavor and the large pickle really sealed the deal for me. I will def be back to try the pastrami and rye. Staf was very courteous. The even double boxed the soup and Seran wrapped it to make sure there was no spillage during transport . Ambiance was New York themed , clean and modern but only a small amount of seating available which is how a sandwich deli should Be.

People either love or hate the 50's decor that Mad Men picked up on decades later. I'm in the former camp and like sitting upstairs most of all. Today, we sat downstairs for the first time. Quiet and cozy with the Rat Pack looking on, the mood was chill, anticipation high. Service is consistently attentive, prompt, and friendly here. Jason greeted us warmly and followed this with soft, warm bread with Anaheim-spiced garlic butter that we could have filled up on and left happy. It's stellar. Drinks arrived quickly: my Great Divide farmhouse ale and a potent White Russian that had mom in silly mode. Mom took her salad to the woodshed. My cup of green Chile corn chowder hit the spot. We were stoked when our server from my last birthday brought our entrees. It felt like home. While the "Sugar Steak" is their calling card and a number of topping combos are available, we went for straight up beef. No regrets. Medium rare? Perfect. Mom's filet mignon torched the one I had at Gallagher's in Las Vegas a week ago--at a much better price. I tried the wagyu coulette (picanha). Unbelievably tender, it's my new Bastien's fave. Side and soup or salad come with your steak--none of the a la carte nickel-and-diming found at most steakhouses nowadays. This sets Bastien's apart. We enjoyed the twice-baked potato and white cheddar mashers. I can vouch for the loaded baked potato and French onion soup, as well. Overall, Bastien's offers unique ambiance, stellar service, solid steaks & value that fancier spots don't have. No BS service fees. It feels like they are here for you, not the other way around. Until next time...

Both were a huge let down. Overcooked (we asked for medium rare) and not much flavor at all. My steak sandwich was extremely tough and hard to chew. Fries were meh. Our family was visiting from Australia- we got all dressed up to celebrate 2 birthdays- and it was a huge disappointment and we felt bad for taking him there.

I mostly frequent the Brass Armadillo and some shops on Colfax, and admittedly didn't know this gem was waiting for me in Aurora. We went on a Saturday late-morning, and were greeted cheerfully and with an excellent explanation of the store. We were offered help as we browsed the locked cases upstairs, and we ambled the huge sprawling basement footprint as well. The sheer size of this place was impressive. There are a variety of item types (records, costume jewelry, taxidermy, kitchen goods, clothing, upcycled decor, etc.) and aesthetic styles, so really something for everyone. We found some particularly fun vendors in the basement. It felt like it could be easy to get carried away here, in the best possible way. Currently, many (most?) of the vendors have a holiday discount in place too, and we managed to walk away with some well priced treasures. Definitely stop by if you like the thrill of the hunt, and I'm confident the folks at Heirlooms Antique Mall will take care of you.

It may look like just another store front among other businesses from bustling Havana St, but I can assure you, it's more than what meets the eye. I was introduced to this spot via a Yelp event and have been back every single year ever since because inside the two massive levels, are some of the most unique antiques, vintage finds and interesting pieces - yet to be discovered! Various collectors and vintage sellers alike, sell odds and ends throughout the space. Upon entry, it can be overwhelming, but the friendly faces at the front are quick to assist - aka provide directions, sale options and open any cases you may need access to. Very helpful and friendly, indeed! My husband and I ventured here to look around and easily spent 2 hours looking at each booth, finding things that piqued our interest and ended up coming home with us! It's almost impossible to get see it all, so when you see something you like, snag it, because it may not be there again! Inventory turns over fast! Worth a stop in!!

Update: All of the previous review is true. Through the…read morewinter some A/C units still were cycling on and off. What I came to realize is that due to the design of the building, there is very poor air circulation and ventilation, so the apartments stay unnaturally warm. To get air flow I prop open my front door and open the balcony door. This allows air to pass from outside into the hallway. Its not great to have my door open! But I think it makes sense why tenants have to overuse the air conditioning so much. I had to break my lease and leave 3 months early before the summer starts because the noise is unbearable. I wear noise cancelling headphones all day. Another thing to keep in mind when looking to rent here is that the building was built modularly. There are seams in the hallway floor where the building didnt quite line up. While this isn't a big deal, what it signals is that the building is not the highest quality, although the exterior design is attractive. The walls are very thin. There is a very loud beagle in the apartment just below me. I was in the hallway 3 floors below them and unbelievably I could hear the beagle! None of this is the building management or CWS's fault. I think they want to work and run a nice apartment building. I think they genuinely want to have happy people in the building. But some things like how this building was constructed is out of their control. They only way to rectify the A/C problem is to have them on a floating platform that is connected to the building vertices by cables. This would minimize the direct vibration of the ceiling and minimize if not completely remove the noise they create. But I doubt they would be able to fund something like that. Please look at the picture I put up and if one of those is under consideration be aware of this issue.

They just want that $2k per month and will lie to get it. The Covid excuses are old. Places need to adapt and get back to some version of normalcy. CWS did not do that and is still lagging. The Marq used to be nice but it's become a dump since the plague started and it's CWS' fault. The other side to this is that the maintenance crew gets things done very fast and Kara and Julie are awesome people. All of the problems with The Marq are because their hands are tied with CWS' bullsh*t policies. Kara and Jullie will definitely be missed.
