I was living in California and every time I'd get back to the east coast, she'd suggest going here. Unfortunately, we never got to experience a visit here together after she suddenly passed from an aggressive cancer. It became my goal to come here and visit with her on my mind. Years later, I moved back to the east coast and booked a random weekend just for fun. I'm married now with kids so we made the drive here to experience all that the Omni had to offer. I've stayed at other Omni resorts and I wavered on what this place would land on ratings wise. Overall, it's a beautiful hotel with a lot of history that I loved learning about. My kids absolutely loved the indoor pool. It is as gorgeous as the photos look. It's a nice spot, especially when it's a chilly Pennsylvania day like when we visited. With that said, there isn't a ton to do here with kids. It was the perfect amount of time for us, but met other families who were struggling to keep their own kids occupied. There are some really nice trails around the property, which are perfect. And you can also check out some free toys and games from one of the shops inside. That said, if you don't have great weather, options can be limited. We didn't get a chance to visit the spa, but the space looks amazing from what I saw online. The rooms were spacious and well set up for a family. We ate at a few of the restaurants on site. Service was mostly on point though the tavern was really off. Our server was perfectly friendly but pretty much messed up the entire order. I would go back but not sure I'd be eager to rush back anytime soon. We did enjoy the experience but I think a few bumps could be worked out such as helping with our luggage upon arrival. We were able to valet but couldn't find anyone to help us with the bags and the rolling carts don't easily go over the front door to get inside. Between me and my partner, we were able to make it work. But it's those small details that make a property really stand out.

Afterward, we had lunch at the Frontier Tavern, and everything was fantastic. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. Every member of the staff we interacted with went above and beyond to make our visit special. From the spa to lunch, the entire experience was memorable and truly exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, and we can't wait to come back again.

The pools and hottub are a nice touch as well! As with any place that's been around for 100+ years, you can't expect perfection. The rooms are old school and purposefully lack common modern hotel amenities - such as a microwave or fridge. I also note that my bathroom had a steady stream of little ants on the floor/sink vanity. Didn't impact my stay, but if you are looking for things to whine about you are likely to find them. I strongly recommend Summit Inn so long as you know/acknowledge that staying in a place like this will have minor drawbacks but in its totality is a unique and pleasant experience beyond a place to lay your head at night! Thanks for having me!

We started with the fried zucchini, which was delicious. It is served with a homemade spicy ranch dressing that was outstanding. I ordered the crabcake sandwich and my daughter got the steak wrap. No complaints at all. Fries were nice and crispy. Not only was the food good, but our waitress was super nice, attentive and friendly. One thing to mention - The patio is very nice, but I'm a bit surprised by the layout. They have an incredible view of the valley, but there are only 2 tables that give you the full view. Most tables have no view. Odd.

The property is family owned and they live on site. Communication for booking and up until your stay is great and check in is a breeze. Room 104 is my favorite and I have stayed there all but one time. The rooms are always clean, we'll furnished and stocked. The room with the ice machine between rooms 102 and 103 have a few extra towels and Toiletries available incase you need anything after hours. They only have 10 rooms and a parking spot assigned for each room with several extra guest spots. Right across the street there is a liquor store and a restaurant (currently vacant restaurant as of 2/2024). While visiting with the restaurant there, it was nice to have a spot for a quick bite. I highly recommend The Garrett Inn as they are consistent, well priced and just an overall wonderful experience.

Nestled in the heart of the Laurel Highlands, these upgraded suites embody a seamless blend of modern elegance and rustic charm. From the moment we arrived, the experience was elevated. The Lodge's new grand entrance--a gorgeous porte-cochère, expansive glass, and an accessible design--immediately signaled the thoughtful transformation underway. Inside, the lobby unfolds like a storybook scene: a dramatic split staircase, a cozy fireplace, sumptuous furnishings--all infused with a touch of whimsy and glamour. The suites themselves were stunning. Spacious and beautifully finished, they reflect the resort's woodsy elegance through distinctive color palettes and upscale décor. Ours featured modern amenities that made a real difference: a Nespresso coffee machine to kickstart the mornings, a Dyson hair dryer (yes, really!), and plush butler service that took convenience and indulgence to the next level. These thoughtful touches elevated every moment of our stay. Depending on your travel party, the resort accommodates beautifully--options range from cozy Junior King Suites to expansive Penthouse Suites with multiple bedrooms and balconies overlooking the serene grounds. We felt truly pampered and inspired to unwind. No need to leave the property to be indulged. Dining at the new Fawn & Fable was a highlight--farm-to-table steakhouse excellence with imaginative, artful plating and local ingredients that transported us to a fairytale setting. Evenings were best spent at Circle Bar, enjoying creative cocktails in an opulent setting, or slipping into the library-style Study--a hidden gem perfect for quiet conversation under a starlit painted ceiling. In the mornings, The Patisserie was our go-to for delicious espresso and pastries in a bright, airy Parisian-style café setting. Beyond our suite and spirits, the resort's amenities truly complement the experience -- from world-class spa treatments, golf courses, and thrilling outdoor adventures to curated wellness moments. In short, our stay in the renovated Lodge suites was pure enchantment--a perfect mix of luxury, comfort, thoughtful design, and impeccable service. Nemacolin continues to raise the bar, and we can't wait to return.

However, parking at our lodge was a constant battle as staff members frequently took up guest spots. The resort has fun, quirky artwork and a great commitment to sustainability (the bee sanctuary was a highlight), but it is a mixed bag overall. The animal exhibits left us feeling a bit uneasy, as the animals seemed depressed. Service was also inconsistent. While the staff was generally nice, it was clear they need better training on luxury guest hospitality. Service took a major nosedive during prime dinner hours, and bars frequently ran out of signature ingredients. The dining was our biggest letdown. At Fawn & Fable, we were plagued by fruit flies/fungus gnats during dinner. The cocktails were easily the best on the resort, and the prime rib was good (though unmemorable), but my brother's steak was completely overcooked. Gusto!, the Italian spot on campus, was fine but ultimately forgettable. Nemacolin is an interesting place with plenty to do, and I can see it being a magical winter wonderland with snow. But right now, it lacks the execution and polish to justify a luxury tag.
