Omni - Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa

I was living in California and every time I'd get back to the east coast, she'd suggest going here. Unfortunately, we never got to experience a visit here together after she suddenly passed from an aggressive cancer. It became my goal to come here and visit with her on my mind. Years later, I moved back to the east coast and booked a random weekend just for fun. I'm married now with kids so we made the drive here to experience all that the Omni had to offer. I've stayed at other Omni resorts and I wavered on what this place would land on ratings wise. Overall, it's a beautiful hotel with a lot of history that I loved learning about. My kids absolutely loved the indoor pool. It is as gorgeous as the photos look. It's a nice spot, especially when it's a chilly Pennsylvania day like when we visited. With that said, there isn't a ton to do here with kids. It was the perfect amount of time for us, but met other families who were struggling to keep their own kids occupied. There are some really nice trails around the property, which are perfect. And you can also check out some free toys and games from one of the shops inside. That said, if you don't have great weather, options can be limited. We didn't get a chance to visit the spa, but the space looks amazing from what I saw online. The rooms were spacious and well set up for a family. We ate at a few of the restaurants on site. Service was mostly on point though the tavern was really off. Our server was perfectly friendly but pretty much messed up the entire order. I would go back but not sure I'd be eager to rush back anytime soon. We did enjoy the experience but I think a few bumps could be worked out such as helping with our luggage upon arrival. We were able to valet but couldn't find anyone to help us with the bags and the rolling carts don't easily go over the front door to get inside. Between me and my partner, we were able to make it work. But it's those small details that make a property really stand out.

Afterward, we had lunch at the Frontier Tavern, and everything was fantastic. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. Every member of the staff we interacted with went above and beyond to make our visit special. From the spa to lunch, the entire experience was memorable and truly exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, and we can't wait to come back again.

The property is family owned and they live on site. Communication for booking and up until your stay is great and check in is a breeze. Room 104 is my favorite and I have stayed there all but one time. The rooms are always clean, we'll furnished and stocked. The room with the ice machine between rooms 102 and 103 have a few extra towels and Toiletries available incase you need anything after hours. They only have 10 rooms and a parking spot assigned for each room with several extra guest spots. Right across the street there is a liquor store and a restaurant (currently vacant restaurant as of 2/2024). While visiting with the restaurant there, it was nice to have a spot for a quick bite. I highly recommend The Garrett Inn as they are consistent, well priced and just an overall wonderful experience.

We came here interested in a stay after signs along the road eluded to this being the inspiration for some of Monet's work. I was intrigued and confused because Monet never traveled to the United States as far as I know. Once we arrived, I was able to locate the sign pictured below which states "Some say this very pond is home to the inspiration site for French artist Claude Monet's iconic water lilies painting "Nympheas" (1906) which sold at a London auction in June 2014 for $54 million dollars." First of all, t is grammatically redundant. No one uses the dollar sign and types the word dollar after the number. More importantly, however, it is purposefully misleading and demonstratively not true. Monet spent his life in France and painted those works based on the gardens he personally designed and cultivated at his home in Giverny. He never traveled to Pennsylvania, and would certainly not have gone there looking for inspiration. Attaching Monet's name to something with no historical basis is dishonest and lazy, and should make anyone reading these reviews question what else about this place is exaggerated or fabricated for effect. The sign goes on to read "Want to see more exclusive art pieces from some of the world's most famed artists? Contact Nemacolin at 724.329.8555 to tour our multi-million Hardy family art collection." So first they use "$"/"dollar" too many times and in the next sentence they leave it out completely? What a mess. Who is in charge of this marketing and why would anyone want an art tour from a place that demonstrates such a fundamental misunderstanding of art history? If you're charging premium prices, you should at least respect your guests enough not to insult their intelligence with claims that fall apart after a basic Google search. Beautiful property or not, credibility matters and after spending some time on the grounds (see photos) we opted not to book a room here for obvious reasons.
