Drove 3 hrs for Wisp and had our reservations canceled at our original spot, called this location and the staff was super kind and helpful! They accommodated us on the spot and had a room clean and ready. The rooms are quaint, clean and cozy. It's decorated simply but has what you need. A fridge, microwave, toiletries, fluffy pillows and towels, lots of space to place your items as well. Out on the balcony there is a cute little bar sitting area and the fire pits. It is so cozy you really don't want to leave. There are drinks at the front and the staff are amazing! The female as well as the tall gentle man were great! Wish we got names. Walls are a bit thin but besides that get you a room and watch tv all day in their fluffy beds. Perfect place to relax! Will be back!

I've stayed in numerous hotels and condos, but none had the decor, complimentary services and polite staff in them. It may not look like much from the road, but they completely put the love and investment into the interiors.I have multiple spinal issues and usually beds are an issue, but this bed was firm enough to support but soft enough to be comfortable. I was blown away by the cleanliness and country decor. This was my first time, but definitely not my last. Can't beat the price.

Cozied up to the fireplace with a book on a rainy day.

When I was feeling overworked, I decided to take a spontaneous mini vacation out to Deep Creek. I got online and looked for rooms on the lake that I could afford and had rooms available the very next day (it was cold and rainy, so that probably helped me find rooms). I wanted somewhere cozy where I could read a book, enjoy a view of the lake, and be near good food options. When I saw the fireplaces in the single bed rooms at LakeFront Lodge, I was hooked! The room was almost perfect, the only detractor for me is that the couch/seat in the room is not at all comfy for lounging, that's what I wanted to do for a few days. But the bed was very comfy, the bar height table out on the balcony was a lovely perk, the room was clean, the view of the lake was nice, and I got to enjoy reading a book by a fireplace (I adore fireplaces). I loved it. I watched a few people renting kayaks and boats (I'll have to try that myself next time), and I saw how much the staff cared for the guests and the property. Thank you, LakeFront, for giving me a great last minute vacation.

Had a wonderful weekend stay at the LakeStar Lodge! Beautiful location with friendly efficient staff and owner! Everyone went out of their way to make it a perfect relaxing getaway. Rented kayaks onsite and everything was provided. This trip was planned by my adult children and we were booked a dog friendly room so we could bring our pet-we had never done that before and were a little wary that it would not be as nice -it was clean and bright with no evidence that it was occupied before by pets! Many close restaurants and many that are dog friendly! Fire pits, grill and picnic tables as well as Adirondack chairs provided. We can't wait to stay again! Have already recommended it to friends at work who plan on booking soon!

Super cute and cozy. It has all basic amenities plus some more including a small backyard for roasting s'mores and open kitchen in the lobby area. The facility went under renovations about 3 years ago and looks well kept since then.. They are continuing renovations, don't be fooled by its exterior!

My boyfriend and I were staying in Fairmont, West Virgina, and took the short drive to McHenry MD, which was scenic, and we both loved the scenic drive and clean mountain fresh air. The resort was well maintained and easy to find. The mountain coaster was a hybrid of an Alpine slide, along with a roller coaster boasting 1300 feet. If you've never been on a mountain coaster, this is surely one that will boost your Adeline, natural zeal for life. The bonus was they even took your picture on the ride, giving you an option to purchase at the end.

Not far from west by his Virginia. The resort it's self is beautiful and well maintained. The front staff clerk was super helpful. Our room was a solid 3.5 stars. I was really happy with the room. A separate space for the children and the bathroom is separated from the sink. There was a small fridge in our room as well. This place has a great indoor pool! The skiing or snow boarding is plentiful. There is also plenty of places to snack and people watch! I do think the rooms could use some small upgrades. However I do realize this is a large resort and you can see where they put their money. They have everything laid out very well. Also my family and I pod for lessons and we needed up with. Very awesome and thorough instructor. Unfortunately for me, I ran into people fell and the was it for me. But my daughter stuck with it, so did my bonus son too I suppose. This trip was more for them. My husband said from the moment he put on his ski clothes he realized this may not be for him. Same! My family and I ate at a small restaurant in the resort and the bartender/sever was super nice! I never complain about food, but my Cesar salad was gross and he got it taken off and comped my whiskey. I would definitely recommend this place and I would definitely come back!

Each room has it's own outdoor space, and the area behind the property has been thoughtfully done to give guests plenty of places to sit, swing, or just hang out by a fire. It was too chilly for the pool while we were there, but it looked very inviting. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, and the entire place was kept impeccably clean. There is even a self-service area for snacks and drinks, or things you may have forgotten to bring along from home. There is access to the lake, as well as a place to dock a boat, if you have one. There are also plenty of interior gathering areas that are comfortable to hang out if the weather isn't cooperating. I would highly recommend Cove Creek Lodge to anyone looking for a place to stay at Deep Creek.

We stayed on the lake view in room 216, with two queen beds. The room was lovely. We were surprised there was a microwave, dishwasher, glasses, plates and utensils along with a mini fridge too. It was perfect as we had brought some cocktails with us and were able to keep them chilled and do a little tasting of our own. It felt so fancy. We enjoyed so much of the property. We sat on our patio to read, went to the lake and sat and enjoyed the sunset, my friend went kayaking and saw other couples enjoying the kayaks as well. We hopped in the heated pool and enjoyed some corn hole. The first night we were easily able to walk to Honi Honi and Unos and the Casstleman Bakery and cafe we enjoyed walking to twice for lunch and breakfast. It is a busy street to cross without a cross walk, but we crossed at the light when it was on green. Hopefully a crosswalk will be added for additional safety. Unfortunately the internet/tv was out during our 2night, 3 day stay, but it wasn't really a problem as there was so much to do and we were really able to talk and enjoy each other's company and conversation! I would definitely recommend visiting and will absolutely be back again! Don't forget to take a trip to the FireFly Market and cheese shop. Cheese and wine pairings are so much fun and not far at all!

Customer service was apologetic, but offered little solution for this huge (and disgusting) inconvenience. The house also seemed like it had not been cleaned properly. The bedding and bathrooms had hair all over and some were stained. No paperwork has been received, so at this point, who knows if they will honor their word with the refund. Bed bugs aside, the house was in a quiet neighborhood and close to the lake.

Disgusting and unsafe I have to agree with Shelton B.'s…read morereview of unit 504 dated June 15, 2021. Apparently nothing much has changed. The unit is not as it is represented online. It is outdated, filthy, unsafe, and should not be rented. The balcony was dirty, spiders and webs everywhere, window had mud splashed on it, screen, door handle, was broken off with metal, jagged edges exposed, one of the chairs bottoms was completely torn out and unusable, another had a rip beginning to form, lamps in the living room did not work and One housed a graveyard of dead flies, carpet was stained, sofa was as hard as a rock, stain on the rug, dining chairs flimsy, FECAL matter on the toilet seat which was painted and that paint was peeling off, doors, delaminating, hardwood floors edges, not finished exposing large gaps, no coffee cups upstairs, broken hairdryer in the bathroom, front door did not lock. At the upstairs landing the first step had a bulge in the carpet causing a hazardous condition for tripping. Someone attempted to fix this by putting duct tape on the edge, which was ineffective. I reported these deficiencies to the front desk. They were very nice and solved a couple of the issues. This unit should not be rented. Shame on this owner for the condition and misrepresentation of the unit. I asked for a refund of part of our rental and got 10% which I believe is a paltry amount given this experience.

The Maryland Mountains: Congenial Resort…read more Lakewood Resort at Deep Creek Lake is a silver leaf (four star) Interval International resort located at P.O. Box 660 McHenry, MD 21541. The phone number is 301-387-7633. Interval International suggest that the nearest airport is located at Pittsburg, 110 miles northeast. Be careful not to confuse the Lakewood Resort in Maryland with a similar Lakewood Resort Club located an hour east near Morgantown, WV. The two resorts bear some similarities. Lakewood Resort at Deep Creek Lake is in western Maryland just 45 minutes east of Morgantown WV or 60 minutes southeast of Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Lakewood Resort is located just south of the Mason Dixon Line. Additional driving times are as follows: three hours northwest of Washington, D.C., five hours west of Philadelphia, and six hours east of Cincinnati. Lakewood Resort seems to be a comfortable motor trip from many eastern and Midwestern cities. The Interval International website provides eight accurate pictures of this townhouse timeshare. The indoor pool is located across S.R. 219 and requires a short drive. Families will not want children walking across a sometimes-busy highway. The exterior townhouse photo suggests a "pond" within walking distance of the Lakewood Resort at Deep Creek Lake. This "pond" is actually a very large lake that is named Deep Creek Lake. Deep Creek Lake has been a very popular resort for years. During the winter months, Deep Creek Lake may be frozen and covered with several feet of snow. The visitor may be unaware of the presence of a very large lake. Lakewood Resort at Deep Creek Lake is an excellent summer, spring, fall, and winter holiday for couples and family. Lakewood Resort at Deep Creek Lake is an older, small, but well-maintained resort. Lakewood Resort at Deep Creek Lake is located very near S.R. 219 and check in is not a hassle. Parking is convenient, and because Lakewood Resort at Deep Creek Lake has been "sold out" for years, there will be no problems with a sales staff. Lakewood Resort at Deep Creek Lake provides many activities throughout the year. Vacationers will enjoy swimming (indoor pool and large lake), tennis, fishing, boating, sailing, waterskiing, snow skiing, golfing, horseback riding, hiking, and bicycling. The units are fully furnished with air conditioning, VCR/cable television, fireplace, washer/dryer, and a completely equipped kitchen. The living areas are adequate size, and the bedrooms tend to be smaller than average. My preference is for two king beds rather than the twin beds in the second bedroom. I-68 provides a beautiful east west corridor for a motor trip through the Maryland mountains. The elevation at Deep Creek Lake is 2,487 feet. And because our family holidays frequently times in the Canadian or U.S. Rockies, I use the term "mountains" loosely. However, Dictionary.com defines a mountain as "a natural elevation of the earth's surface rising more or less abruptly to a summit, and attaining an altitude greater than that of a hill, usually greater than 2000 feet (610 meters)." Thus, the late John Denver got it right with "Take Me Home, Country Roads," a song referencing West Virginia. Western Maryland topography is very similar to the Allegheny Highlands. This is because Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia all are part of the Allegheny Highlands. The Allegheny Highlands are part of the Appalachian Mountains. The Allegheny Mountain microclimate in Maryland's western panhandle contrasts with the state's otherwise temperate conditions. If one arrives from an urban area such as Dayton, Richmond, Washington, D.C. or Baltimore, the Allegheny Highlands offer a superb mountain retreat without the potential elevation sickness that can befall those entering the Rockies. McHenry is small and unincorporated. Other nearby Garret County locations are Accident, Deer Park, Loch Lynn Heights, Mountain Lake Park, Redhouse, and Oakland. Oakland affords the most commercial businesses in Garrett County. Lakewood Resort at Deep Creek Lake and the general area offers some two-dozen restaurants from chain to "mom and pop." Perhaps, because Lakewood Resort at Deep Creek Lake is in Maryland, there are several seafood restaurants in this mountain retreat. We have been able to exchange into Lakewood Resort at Deep Creek Lake during the summer and during the winter.
