Our family went through a tough year were we suffered some loss of those we loved. I wanted to have my family members to find a place where we all could gather and restore some togetherness and enjoy a long Easter Weekend with one another. I was lucky to find an awesome place Called Eagle on 7 managed by Taylor-Made Realtors. They not only made it easy for me to book, but the communication was superior to anything I ever experienced. The place was fabulous, kitchen was fully stocked, comfortable beds and plenty of things to do outdoors and indoors. It was awesome to watch the deer roam in the morning and great sunsets brushing up against the mountains. Many of my family members said it was the best Easter that they had in a long time. Found bed bugs on night 1! Thankfully we had not yet gotten on the bed or put any of our stuff on it, but this meant the room and bathroom were off limits ,although we needed it to accommodate our size group. Customer service was apologetic, but offered little solution for this huge (and disgusting) inconvenience. After many calls back and forth we did get an air mattress that we place in the dining room for the rest of the stay and offered a partial refund. The house also seemed like it had not been cleaned properly. The bedding and bathrooms had hair all over and some were stained. No paperwork has been received, so at this point, who knows if they will honor their word with the refund. Bed bugs aside, the house was in a quiet neighborhood and close to the lake. read more

Terrible experience and terrible company. They left a listing up on Airbnb for a house they sold months ago, they let us book the house, pay in full, ask questions in preparation for the trip, and didn't tell us we didn't have a place to stay until we were in route and asked for the house code. Absolutely ridiculous. They found a new place for us to stay for only two of the four nights we were supposed to be in deep creek and didn't even refund anywhere close to what we had to pay for a hotel for the last two nights. Joke of a company. They acknowledged they screwed up and were unresponsive and unhelpful when we had to scramble for a new place and were chasing a refund. Arrived with my family on Thanksgiving! I am the only one who had been to Deep Creek and stayed with this company before in the bedroom my brother in law and his fiancée were in had BED BUGS!!!! According to pest control it was a infestation and whomever cleans the property does not do a deep clean. Nuff said! We found hair in numerous places. Also we noticed that room was the only room to have pest plug ins in the walls. I believer they may have known it was an idsue prior to receiving us. What are the odds??! The weather was crazy we were about 3-4 hrs away from home and most places were booked its Thanksgiving. Its a group of 14 of us the youngest is 18 months and the oldest 69. Our stay was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We arrived needing to use the restroom, only to find that the water was completely shut off. After calling the office, maintenance was sent and we were initially told it was due to an electrical outage--but later, after multiple complaints, we were told the water had actually been shut off for the winter. Once the water was turned back on, we realized there was no toilet paper provided, even though the listing stated that a few rolls would be supplied. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of the issues. The hot tub barely functioned, with only two jets working. The grill was filthy, covered in old food, and wouldn't even light to be cleaned. A replacement grill was brought out, but it didn't work either. Inside, the cleanliness was unacceptable--there was trash on the floors between furniture, the bottom of the fridge looked like it had never been cleaned, and the entire place had an unpleasant smell. There were also several safety concerns. The porch was covered in a slippery slime, and I ended up twisting my back after stepping on it. The air fryer was broken and fell apart while I was removing hot food, nearly causing a serious burn. Appliances throughout the home were either ineffective or unusable. The dishwasher made dishes smell worse, and the kitchen sink didn't get hot enough to properly hand wash them. The washer/dryer combo took at least five hours per load. None of the downstairs games worked properly. To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the bathrooms was completely unacceptable. When my husband lifted a toilet seat in the basement, there appeared to be dried feces or blood on it. When I reported this, I was told that housekeeping "always ensures the bathrooms are clean," which clearly was not the case. I spent the majority of the first two days on the phone trying to resolve these issues, which completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. After we left, I spoke with someone in the office (Aiden or Hayden), who told me we would not receive any reimbursement. I requested to speak with a manager and was told I would receive a call on Tuesday, 04/07/2026--but no one ever followed up. Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. Avoid Taylor-Made Rentals like a rusty nail 04/27/2026 My wife and I returned yesterday from a long weekend at Deep Creek , MD. Our daughter and her family live in the city (Pittsburgh) and wanted to avoid the crowds from the NFL draft. We decided to join them and we rented a home " BEAUTIFUL ADVENTURE" through VRBO, the management company was TAYLOR-MADE VACATION RENTALS. We choose this house because it advertised with pictures and a description a child friendly play area complete with swings, slides, and climbing area just off of the deck. A perfect place for our three year old grandson to entertain himself. We arrived at 4 pm and as we walked to the front door the first thing I noticed were the dead and unkempt bushes that we had to avoid while managing not to trip over the broken sidewalk. Our grandson did trip. A definite safety issue. After we entered the house and walked out to back deck it was apparent that the house hadn't been cleaned or inspected. (Confirmed by TALOY-MADE) Leaf and tree debris littered the deck along with missing post caps and exposed nails (Safety Issue) and a gate that didn't lock requiring a bungee to keep it shut for our dogs. The lack of a cleaning crew was also apparent on the inside, dust, grease residue and scum. The outdoor furniture was in tatters, one umbrella literally shredded while the "good" umbrella was simply torn. The furniture looked as if it had been discarded from other rentals. Rusted to the point that you thought twice and then decided not to sit to avoid the raw rusted metal. ( The TAYLOR-MADE response, "just move it to the side".) Now we have three chairs for a place that sleeps six adults! At this point my wife and I made our way to the "child friendly" play area and realized it had been a long time since kids have played on this apparatus. The wooden rungs for the slides were rotten to the point of being broken and exposing 2 inch rusted screws. Our grandson was not going to play on this accident waiting to happen. That's not a problem for TAYLOR-MADE. By now it was 5:30 pm and we began calling TALOR-MADE. Over the next two hours we texted, sent photos and spoke numerous times with Nick who could not or would not offer a resolution or even an adjustment. At this point we contacted VRBO and over the next two hours spoke with two people both named Mohammad. In the end we were told to check-out by ten and expect a call from TAYLOR-MADE. At 9 am Friday we were packed and ready to leave but we hadn't heard from TAYLOR-MADE so we called them and spoke with Cheyenne. This was the beginning of a 4 hour ordeal with TAYLOR-MADE repeating their motto "we cannot help you". Eventually the company said they would send and inspector which normally happens along with a cleaning crew BEFORE guests arrive! Around 10:30 I met the inspector and as we walked to the door I pointed out the crumbling sidewalk, to which he replied, "we've been trying to get the owners to fix that for a while now". On the deck I pointed out the furniture to which he said, "I don't know why it's here". At the jungle gym I ask him if he would allow his children to play on it, his answer, "I wouldn't allow my kids near this. It's not safe". Two hours later the company called us and said we could have another rental but they wouldn't reimburse for our wasted 24 hours nor would they offer an extra day. Yet, since our complaints the photos of the children's play area have been removed along with descriptions from the listing. We booked our vacation through this website last week. In the property's description, it clearly stated that there was an outdoor fire pit. When we arrived, we found there was no fire pit at all. When we contacted the company, they responded that the owner "reserves the right to change the amenities of the property at their discretion." The presence of a fire pit was one of the main reasons we chose this property, so we feel the listing was misleading and not an accurate representation of what we paid for. I've called several times about a toilet that's not flushing and I requested more towels since we were only given 6 out of the 8 said to be in our unit; also I had to call someone to relight the pilot light in our fireplace. We received a call one hour before our check in stating that the house we reserved 4 months prior was not available. They informed us that alternative rentals were sent via e mail. We were in route to Deep creek so we choose the only house that was comparable with "lakefront" and a dock. When we arrived, we realized that the lake and dock were down a cliff. I called Taylor made multiple times asking for a property that had easy access. I was told that the only thing g available would be twice as much as I paid. I requested a partial refund and I was told that they would call me back. I never received a call. This 3 night family vacation was not cheap and it was a real disappointment. read more

I have waited 2 months to post a review of Taylor-Made. I wanted to make sure the dust settled from my anger. With that said, if I could give ZERO stars that is what Taylor-Made deserves. The booking process and payment process was very easy but that's about it. If you choose Taylor-Made, and stay at one of their rental properties, do not expect any level of customer service and do not expect your property to be ready on time. We had a 2 hour drive to our property with a 4pm check in time. Naturally, we planned to get there right at 4pm to enjoy the most of our vacation home for the week. I received a call at 3:30pm saying it would not be ready as the cleaning crew was still cleaning the house. My brother happened to get to the house around 3:45 and waited outside saying the cleaning crew didn't even arrive yet! Why would you call me saying they were still working on it when they didn't even arrive? Apparently they did arrive close to 4pm. When I arrived, I checked in with the cleaning crew and they said they would be several hours. I then made my first of MANY calls of the week to Taylor Made. To sum it up, I was told I could not speak to a manager, they offer no refunds for a cleaning delay and they would provide me with $75 to a local restaurant. $75 for 13 people to go out to dinner? Where do they think we live? We end up actually getting into the house closer to 7pm. A 3 hour delay to the start of our vacation. We finally get to start touring the home and you will not believe it. It is still dirty!!!! We found dirty kleenex and clothes in couch cushions and under beds. You delayed us getting in to clean but didn't actually clean? I called Taylor-Made again. They offered no apologies but would send the cleaning crew back the following day. I'm still not allowed to speak to a manager. The next day we noticed some other things about the home- screen door was broken, hole in the theater room wall, several things on the fridge were broken. I called Taylor-Made about all of this to get it on their record, as I didn't want to be charged for something I didn't do. I was offered $150 because the cleaning crew had to come back. No apologies for the state of the home though. At this point, I still had not accepted any of their money. Throughout the week, I called several more times as the pool water turned a different color and they needed to send pool maintenance out to fix it. Every call I asked to speak to a manager and I was told I couldn't and a manager would follow up after my stay. What kind of operation are they running? What kind of customer service is this that you cannot speak to a manager? Fast forward to AFTER our stay where I was supposed to get a call from a manager. I had to call them! I then waited days for a return call from a manager. When I did hear back I'm almost positive it was the same woman I talked to the entire last week. She was not apologetic for anything during the stay. I negotiated my way to a $300 refund which is pathetic when the home costs as much as it does. I was then sent a contract to sign in order to receive my refund. In the fine print of the contract it says if I sign it I can not write a review of Taylor-Made, nor can any of my friends or family members. Are you for real? Taylor-Made you can take your money. There is no amount of money that would keep me from spreading the truth about your horrible customer service. I will NEVER stay at a Taylor-Made property again. First and last time renting with them. I paid $75 to check in 3 hours early and walked in to a disgusting mess (see pics). I called the rental company and was immediately given an attitude when I asked them when the last time someone cleaned was. There was hair, crumbs, glass, dog food, grass, cobwebs, you name it. They sent 2 people out to clean and they finished around 6pm. The girls were very nice and did an okay job; they confirmed the house was filthy and even had to clean up broken glass on the kitchen floor. We also asked the cleaners to remove all of the plugins that were obviously there to mask just how dirty the house was. My nose kept running and throat started hurting not long after arriving... The rude representative asked if I had allergies, lol. Great customer service! I tried to leave a review for the house we stayed at- 'Absolute M' but of course they won't post it. This makes me wonder how many other people stayed there and had the same issues! One last thing: the house said it wasn't pet friendly; however, there were dog toys and bowls, with food next to it on the floor. So if you *do* happen to have allergies to pets, cross this place off your list. ***UPDATE*** I reached out to the crooks at Deep Creek Vacations to at the very least get a refund for the $75 early check in fee and they sent me a document to sign in order to get the refund... Please do NOT rent from this group. We loved our home and their initial response to an issue. However, we left early due to weather and forgot two pairs of adult snow pants. I called that night and let them know. I called two other times the following week and ultimately was told the items were not found. This means either the homeowners or the cleaning service stole our items. I was willing to pay the costs to retrieve our left items. This must be a fairly common issue? I cannot believe they never called me back to follow up and that our items were taken. Again, I told them we left items one day before we were suppose to check out. No one else was in the home. I host a couples' trip in Deep Creek at least once a year. In the past, I have rented serval homes from Taylor-Made without major issue. Our recent stay over this Halloween weekend was no different. We requested early check-in, so our house was ready by noon. Check-in is now virtual due to Covid-19, which I truly hope remains the practice even after this pandemic is over. We could smell the cleaning products as soon as we entered the home. All of the towels and washcloths were wrapped in plastic and placed in each bedroom. The home was nice and warm for our arrival, which was awesome because it was only around 30 degrees outside. This recent home has been one of the only houses that we've rented where the kitchen was fully stocked. Seasonings, multiple pots and pans, the works. With a house full of ten, the cooking supplies provided at the home can make or break the trip. We did have one minor issue, where the water and the jacuzzi wouldn't heat up. It was user error, but I feel as though we wouldn't have made the error if the directions for utilizing the jacuzzi were prominently displayed instead of on the inside a book. Maintenance did come out and rectify this issue immediately. All and all, Taylor-Made has been consistently good to me and my crew and is the best rental company we've used, compared to the other available options. Totally unrelated to the house, but important to those traveling to the area during COVID-19. It doesn't appear that mask wearing is 100% enforced out there. Several folks in Walmart and the supermarket were walking around mask-less. read more

10/30/2020 Upon arrival the property (Keep Calm and Lake On) did not look like what was advertised on the website. Some of my family member drove pass the house,due to the way the house looked. The leaves covering the entire surrounding of the home which was unbelievable . One of my family members was afraid to walk out on the lower level entry due to fear of falling because of the excessive amount of wet leaves. Once we were inside and checked the bedroom we noticed that 3 out of the 5 bedrooms bed linens were stained. We were thankful that all of our guest brought their own bed linens, with fear of something like this happening and coupled with COVID-19. The dust was so thick on the ceiling fan in the family room we were concerned about did not turn it on. The kitchen pans need to be replaced, because they had visible rust caked in the bottom. Some the dishes were very greasy. We went out an purchased a couple of pans to cook with. Finally the heat was a major issue during our stay. We arrived on 10/30/2020 at 3:45pm and the heat was not properly working. At 6:30pm I contacted Taylor Made services and they informed me that a technician would be out to service unit in an hour. I called back to get an ETA for service tech. They stated we are the next stop for the service tech. He arrived about 45 mins later and reset the heater unit. On Sunday at 9:30 we notice the house starting to get cold again. I contacted Taylor made at 11:15am to have a tech come out. I asked what was the ETA of the tech and they stated one hour. At 1:15 I called back and spoke with Dustin to verify the location of the technician, because we are started to layer up our clothes to keep warm. The technician arrived at 2:05 and try to reset the furnace, but to no available and informed us that the motor had burned out and that he would contact Dustin and let him know to contact the another service company replace motor. At 2:50 a gentlemen walked on the deck and knocked on the sliding glass door. We were a bit startled and I asked him to identify himself and he stated you called about the heat. The gentlemen was not wearing any type of company logo and we did not get any notification that a technician way on the way. The gentlemen seemed a bit agitated when I asked him to identify who he was. We explained to them that we were not notified so we were a bit surprise to see someone on the deck. He had to replace the filter and motor which took a little over an hour to complete his work. After which the heat begin to work properly. This was not the experience I was looking to walk away with , as this was our first time renting one of the Taylor Made properties. We were extremely disappointed to say the least. read more

First of all...beautiful home! My complaint is not with that part of our stay at all. My disgust is with Taylor Made & the customer service. Soiled linens including blood and some other sort of stain. Housecleaning did come back and the cleaning lady was very pleasant and apologized...sincerely. The multiple times I have had to call when we've noticed another unclean or soiled area, the employees have been extremely patronizing with almost robot-like responses. So completely frustrating. Customer service & cleaning would get negative stars if I could give them. Otherwise, beautiful area and lots of fun things to do. Just avoid Taylor Made...looks like there are plenty of other vacation rentals & that's where we will be looking for our next In response to Chad's comment: The refund was for the cleaning fee...cleaning that apparently never happened. It was promised to have been refunded the day i spoke to Sheila...finally refunded when I called again at the end of August...weeks after our stay. ZERO consideration was given to the inconvenience we experienced by your office's lack of professionalism, complete rudeness and the multiple calls that had to be made every single time we found another mess. 126 Leo Friend Road (Views and Brews) Yes mouse poop in the silverware drawer (and other places). We paid $200 plus for a CLEANING service, didn't the previous renter? So why is this place so dirty? You can write your name in the amount of dust this place had everywhere! It's 2023, no a/c. House was 78 degrees and muggy. For health reasons, this should be disclosed. No washer and dryer. I had to call them to get the address and check in code. NO RESPONSE AT ALL on the vrbo website from them. WiFi doesn't work. Inaccurate pictures of the house. Tubs don't drain...... Well, VERY VERY slow, I'm talking very slow (almost an hour). Light switches in the bedrooms do not work. You can't even plug in the lamp in the master bedroom. Outlet blocked off! Hole in door. I wiped down all of the tables, they were never wiped at all. Trash under the bed, not ours. Beds are uncomfortable. The house had a nice deck and has potential. Taylor-Made, I will never deal with them again. Owners, change rental company! AVOID AVOID AVOID. SO BAD WE LEFT EARLY! read more

Having all been vaccinated, my niece rented this place (All About Me) for a family get together. During a pandemic, we expected extra cleaning. This place was sorely neglected. The cobwebs were huge and had been growing for years. 2 electrical outlets had no covers. The blinds in the room where I slept, which was a road facing window, were broken and beyond repair. There was candy in the window sill and candy on the floor downstairs - which indicates it was not swept. Someone else's belongings were under a bed. Many places had not been dusted for a very long time. The ashtrays outside were full of cigarette butts. The refrigerator leaked. I could go on. We complained and they sent some one over to at least knock down the big cobwebs. The entire house needs a deep clean - inside and out. They offered my niece a very small refund but she has to sign a document not to leave a bad review or discuss the terms with anyone. Terrible business practices. Do not use this company! read more

RENTERS beware - We rented a 6 bedroom home through Taylor Made for our family reunion and were totally disappointed in their customer service. 10 days before our vacation we received a call that the home, Majestic Manor, was not ready for rentals. This was well after they took our final payment. They offered us another 6 bedroom home but it was a $1,000 more and they would not compensate us for their mistake. They expected us to pay the higher fee. We ended up having to take a 5 bedroom home and have one guest sleep in a loft on an air mattress. The loft was barely big enough to accommodate the air mattress and no privacy at all for them. Of all the different people that I spoke to at Taylor Made not one of them offered an apology for their mistake. I will never rent through them again. read more

While customer service over the phone and employees stopping by were super friendly, the cleanliness of the house especially during covid times was left to be desired. We stayed at Lake Escape -- beautiful lakefront property with views of Wisp. Stunning to look out at all times of the day. There were cigarette butts outside the front step, and lots of dust, crumbs, and even dead stink bugs at the floors closest to the walls; nearly all baseboards, especially corners, were dusty. Home really needs a deep cleaning including deep mopping of the floors. Toilet paper and linens weren't stocked so we had to wait for delivery (very friendly person who stopped by). Also needs a maintenance check of towel rods and light bulbs, and water pressure; for example, master drain on one sink was extremely slow and master shower head pressure was very minimal, making showers uncomfortable and hard to warm up. Master carpet had black spots all over, and tv remote had some sort of food crust on the buttons. The most unforgiving part were the giant black trash bags that were in the laundry room connecting to the in law suite that stayed until our second day stay. Also broken green glass on the front deck near a window, and red solo cup in the backyard. Those all made us feel like the house was trashed before us. While the house had gorgeous views for a winter retreat, cleanliness made the trip less enjoyable. Highly recommend the house undergoes deep cleaning/maintenance check. read more

I can't remember which cabin we stayed in, but it was located at 1628 Mountainview Drive. It had four bedrooms (one of which was a third level suite, two on the main level, and one on the basement level), three full bathrooms (one per level), and two livingrooms (one on the main level and one on the basement level). There was also two pull-out couches (one on the main level and one on the basement level), so there were plenty of places for people to gather, sleep and wash up. We didn't lack for space. We would've had more space had it been nice weather instead of snowing. There's a hot tub and nice porches/decks with great views of the lake. Big enough kitchen. Full washer and dryer. A group of friends just recently stayed at Keep Calm in Deep Creek. While we enjoyed our time together the accommodations were very much lacking in care. The pellet stove didn't work because the pellets that we were told were coming never came. The heat wasn't working properly and it was freezing. It finally stopped working all together. There were stains and hairs on our mattress. Our room was very dusty. The house in general felt as though it needed care and attention to detail. I did not get my monies worth that's for sure. To those of you sitting behind the desk taking reservations I recommend you spend the weekend at this house. Shame on you!!! read more

I had a great experience with this company. I rented the dreamers cabin for my sisters bachelorette party and it was amazing. So beautiful. Everything was clean when we arrived. The kitchen had basic utensils so you were able to cook food if you'd wish. They had instructions laid out for you that answered any questions you might of had. I had to call them one of the days we were there and their customer service was really friendly and prompt with answering questions. read more

TERRIBLE! We booked a house for a bachelorette party. We arrived at check in time, 4pm. There were multiple maintenance vehicles in the driveway. We were told the house had no heat, electricity or water- basically all of the essentials- and they had been working on it for 3 days! Maintenance crossed his fingers and said "it'll hopefully be fixed in a hour." My friend contacted Taylor Made and they said this was their first time using the vendor and offered "late check out." Not sure how that was fixing our issue or a fair perk. The Property Manager, Doreen?, showed up and reiterated that this was unacceptable, that they originally told her they wouldn't be done at 4, but then said they would-it was now well after 4. She added that this was their first time using this vendor. She said that she would buy us a round of drinks from unos. We just wanted to unload the car and get to the things we had planned for the party but couldn't. We asked to go to a different house and she said they were sold out. They manage 300-400 properties. When we looked it up, there was a huge list of available Taylor Made properties that we could have booked at that moment, so this was a lie. She promised to look into it but we never heard back from her again. She told us that if we called The manager Chris she would work out a discount. My friend talked to Chris who told her that we should wait until 5pm and then we can go to Plan B (Even though they didn't have one). When I talked to Chris, I told her that this was unacceptable, that drinks wouldn't cut it, that we came here for a relaxing weekend and that they were ruining our plans for this first night. She told me she needed to talk to the Owner. When I mentioned it being the first time they used this vendor she said they had used them for years- directly contradicting the others. I also pressed on why we weren't made aware of these issues prior to us showing up to discover it ourselves. She said that they didn't want to "worry us." I can't wrap my head around how us showing up to this "surprise" was better than being forthright with us. My friend had actually called an hour before we arrived to confirm everything and there was no mention. The manager, Chris, tried to say that the vendor said they would be done by 4. Check in time is at 4pm, so if they had any customer service in them, proper follow up would have been done to manage this vendor, and ensure we were aware. What company is okay with maintenance fixing a 3 day old problem at the very last minute? Chris didn't have anything to say other than "you need to wait until 5pm" and told me that she wasn't going to talk to me anymore. 5pm rolled around and you'll be shocked to hear this but they still weren't done. We tried to called Chris back, but get this- she already had LEFT to enjoy her weekend. It made sense why she insisted on us waiting until 5pm, and just confirmed that she couldnt have cared less that we were in a cold dark waterless house on "vacation." I spoke with Sheila who identified herself as a GM, and she refused to talk to me stating that she heard I had called Chris names and used profanity. I did NEITHER of these and my friends confirmed this. Even once it was "fixed," we had to tell maintenance that the stove top wasn't working, and the heat downstairs wouldn't go on. At one point, Taylor Made had to send their own maintenance. So instead of relaxing, we spent time managing vendors. Even after the 2+ hours it took to get everything fixed, the house still wasn't guest ready. We had to heat up the entire freezing house so everyone was still in coats, we had no ice for an entire night so making drinks was a challenge, and the hot tub took hours to heat. Even bed time wasn't relaxing, as the sheets felt like sandpaper, and the mouse traps weren't reassuring. But, don't worry, Taylor Made really pulled strings to offer a whopping $50 off- insert eye roll. Our house name was Absolutely Shore and I'm absolutely sure we will never stay there again or use Taylor Made! UPDATE- Taylor Made offered us a $150 refund after seeing that they received 1 star reviews on multiple sites and were concerned that their employees were named. They also were requiring us to sign a legal agreement to take the reviews down and not go to the press. The fact that they had this legal agreement readily available (meaning they've been through this a time or two) AND that they wanted to negotiate only after they received poor reviews and not because it's the right thing to do was very telling. We declined their offer, as we felt ensuring customers knowing the truth is worth more than $150. Rent at your own risk! read more

We recently stayed at Fir Shore through Taylor-Made and I felt the need to write a review. I think this may be the first time I have written a review for anything (good or bad), but I was so utterly and completely disappointed in so many things, I feel it is necessary to let others know that may be contemplating staying here - do yourself a favor, and choose somewhere else (and if possible, with a different Rental company). I have stayed at Deep Creek in the past with a different rental company and I have come to expect a certain, basic, cleanliness - honestly, I expect a little more right now due to the current situation that is happening around us. The BASICS were not done here for our stay, which to me is more than concerning. 1. Basement smelled of stale urine - we did not use the pool table, etc because of this. 2. We did not use the hot tub - there was dirt on the bottom, it was cloudy and smelled mildew. 3. Coffee grinds from the previous renters were left in both coffee pots and not cleaned. 4. Hair in drains of showers and on walls (um, what?!) 5. Bedroom on the main floor had an OBVIOUS bug killed, and smeared on the wall - not cleaned. If someone was in that room attempting to clean it - it was THAT obvious, it should have been cleaned. 6. In general, the bathroom on the main floor had a wall with a hole in it, and clearly not wiped down or cleaned in a long time. There were yellow streaks and spots all over it. 7. Medicine cap spilled on the floor next to the bedroom in the basement where my daughter slept. Again - unacceptable. 8. WiFi is not great, went to make a phone call locally using the phone in the basement and -- as best as I can describe it -- it looked like someone spilled coke on it and it pooled and dried in place. If it was spilled coke, that would be the best case scenario. Completely disgusting. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if someone gets sick from whatever it was. 9. The bottom, outdoor patio, had piled up leaves from the previous season (we stayed in July) just laying around collecting dust. Garbage (bandaids) were laying on the patio. 10. The blanket that my daughter used to sleep with had white stains all over it that I noticed in the AM and then put away. Some other things that need addressed/cleaned/replaced: 1. Half of the living room lights work 2. On the upper deck, it is old, there is a board sticking up that caused my kids and some of the adults to trip and fall multiple times. There is another lip that runs across the whole deck that is also a SAFETY HAZARD. 3. The carpet - I can deal with a stain here and there but there were stains EVERYWHERE. EVERYWHERE. The pictures online do not show any of this. The Customer Service Manager offered to send someone back to clean on our last afternoon there ( more of a hassle than anything else), said a quick sorry it shouldn't have happened and offered me the basic $75 back or $100 on another stay (which we will never do with this company). I took the $75, but honestly, our trip was spent feeling uneasy the entire time about the beds we were sleeping in (which only 2 of them had signs saying it was cleaned for us? Only 2 out of the 6?) and the cleanliness of what we were touching. Our best day was when we left for the day and went boating (highly recommend Lake Life Rentals). If I were you, I would think twice about booking with Taylor Made during this pandemic. They are obviously not taking seriously the enhanced cleaning protocols that are currently mandated. If they were, high touch surfaces like walls and phones (regardless of how frequently used) and garbage, like medicine caps and used bandaids, would be cleaned. read more

I have stayed at Deep Creek Lake for over 20 years. Originally with Railey, but more recently with Taylor Made Vacations. It has really gone downhill. It's partly property, but and more the property management. They always wanted to go out of their way to meet your needs. Now you feel like you're bothering them. I don't think the staff actually knows the answer to many questions so they tell you what you want to hear. I have gotten different answers to the same question. They do not even provide a detailed invoice anymore that shows what you are actually paying for-you just get the total. I searched for a rental for weeks. It was cancelled 2 weeks later, and I was offered three other rentals. My first two questions were are there houses close by and can my dog walk down to the water. I was told the houses weren't close. They could not have been any closer. The shoreline was a straight drop off to rocks below. The neighbor's shorelines weren't like this. You could walk down to the water! I was lied to about this before for a previous rental . One of my reasons for going to DCL is to take my dog to the lake. A waste of my money. Called maintenance 3 times in 4 days. One TV didn't work, the cable in master bedroom was not even connected (still isn't) no propane, dishwasher door doesn't close (have to lift door to close), coffee maker didn't work, and deck and furniture completely covered with wet leaves. Misleading photos of rental. There is a beautiful indoor hot tub that is gone. The dock locks lovely and level. The walkway to the dock is like a ski jump. I was afraid to walk on it. One misstep and would have landed on the rocks below. I would not take a senior to this rental. It is dangerous. Steps on deck covered with wet leaves, walkway to dock to steep, need handrail in shower and I the steps to sunken living room are ridiculous. I was so tired of climbing up and down them especially when I was carrying something. Need some railings - I would hold onto the wall or walk all the way to the other end of the room to hold the railing for the upstairs steps. I do have to say the house appeared clean and when I did call, I did not wait long for someone to come. But I am sure there are less renters in October. I posted some negatives thoughts on a previous review from my last visit. It disappeared, so I posted again. It was gone again. They are not transparent. I read more

We rented a house a few weeks ago through Taylor-Made. We checked in at the office to get the code to enter the house. When we arrived at the house the code didn't work. I called for another code, which also didn't work. They said that they would send someone out right away. After 20 minutes I called back to make sure that someone was coming because we were hungry. She gave me a third code with many more digits that the last two and that worked. When we walked inside the musty, moldy smell was overwhelming. We walked around to one of the bedrooms which had an old and uncomfortable bed in it. The smell became stronger as we neared the basement stairs. We went down and found visible mold, a dehumidifier that was full and needed to be emptied, and literally about 30 millipedes crawling around on the damp carpet. We called the office to let them know and they suggested, since it was after office hours, that we stay there the night and someone would call us in the morning. We needed all 4 bedrooms and there was no way anyone was going to be sleeping downstairs. One of our guests also has a pretty bad mold allergy so we couldn't stay there if we wanted to. They said that there's nothing they can do except have someone come out and vacuum the bugs and spray a mold killer. This isn't an acceptable solution in my mind, particularly when there was a hotel literally 5 minutes down the street that they could have put us in. We told them that the solution they proposed was not ok. Finally after another hour or so someone called and said they had found another house for us. I spent the first two hours of our weekend vacation calling, worrying, looking at the hotel rates, calling them, and finally signing another contract and reviewing documents. The new house was amazing and had we been put there from the get-go this review would be 5 stars. They offered no compensation for our troubles or our time spent on this. read more

Nice big house, but cleaning crew hardly cleaned and we're still there when we showed up. Floors were nasty (white socks were brown/black at the bottom), cobwebs everywhere, dusty lamps and ceiling fans, filthy bathrooms, microwave and inside kitchen cabinets, drawers and refrigerator were also dirty. Had to purchase cleaning products and clean almost everything in order to feel comfortable staying here. Wouldn't recommend anyone stay at a Taylor Made house. Absolutely disgusting. Only stayed because 13 other people were joining us and I didn't want to disappoint them. read more

We've used Taylor Made four times. Two of the four houses we rented were nice but the other two were in rough condition and in need of work. None of the houses were cleaned very well. I've left reviews on the house's page on their site but the reviews never show if they have negative comments. This is not fair to folks looking for a nice vacation rental. read more

We stayed in Lake Effects. Long needed Family get together. The house was generally very nice. But upon arrival many issues. A specially with the cleanliness. In the era of a pandemic the house was not sanitized at all. After paying $700 cleaning fee and I can assume the guest before us paid the same. We truly did not get what we paid for. I had to contact Taylor-made 3 times in one week and nothing was fixed. The last one was the toilet leaking no one ever showed up. I contacted Taylor-made with my concerns no reply. so just be aware and prepared. Deep creek was very nice. TaylorMade not so much.. read more
