Unfortunately, we didn't have a good experience here because this property (The Perch) doesn't have any A/C unit, and they didn't wire it down on the website, otherways I wouldn't book this property for the 4th of July weekend. we called the office and they said we just got this property so they didn't even know that the property doesn't have any A/C unit. They brought some fans, But it didn't help, and inside the house was between 80 to 84 degrees. Also, two of the bedrooms are in the attic so nobody couldn't sleep there and 2 of our couples had to go and get a hotel room. They said they can not move us because everything is booked and we drove 4hr to get there so we had to hang out most of the time outside of the house and it was so hot even at night when we want to sleep The house is very small, but the view is so beautiful and the house is very clean. read more

Extremely rude staff on the phone. When I tried to reach out to them for something they are calling me about, their staff is yelling at me on the phone because their manager is not available to speak after multiple attempts to reach out to them. Their vacation rental had chipped dish wares, Sauna not working for the entire stay, although paid along with the extremely high rent compared to other vacation rentals in Deep Creek. When their internet was out, we called and no one came to help (and we were working and kids were schooling). There was a power outage another day (for no reason) and they just bluntly said it will come back when it is fixed. I do not recommend renting with them unless you want to go through rough and rude customer service and ruin your vacation. read more

Our family arrived 12/23/22 at 50 John Young Pkwy to a property without working heat. We made several calls to the management company which prompted three visits to the property and it's still below 50 degrees inside. These are unbearable and unacceptable conditions. Checked into our rental house and it looked as if it was NEVER CLEANED. The bathrooms were filthy, washer had MOLD in it, fridge had chicken from 2019 in it and made the whole house smell. They obviously don't clean the bedroom sheets if the washer was CAKED WITH MOLD and dryer doesn't work. Kitchen floor had crumbs all over. Unfortunately, I could go on. Do better Taylor-Made! I'm SO disappointed. I feel disgusting after staying at a Taylor-Made "vacation" house. read more

My family and I stayed at 125 Highwood from Dec 23- Dec 27, 2020. When we arrived at the property we had no utilities on. We had to contact the local utility company to have water and electricity turned on. The outside appearance of the house was beautiful. I stayed in the master suite. There were cob webs on the ceiling and spider eggs in one of the webs. The fan panels were coated in dust. There was a hair in the towel of one of the other guest's and a stain on another guest's sheets. Upon leaving on our last day we were advised the driveway leading up to the entry of the house was clear, it was not. There are two drive ways that lead up to the house, we were instructed by an employee who had arrived, one of the driveways was icy and to take the other. As we descended down the other drive way another Taylor made employee was sitting stuck on the ice/snow driveway and could not back down out of our way. She waved for us to back up (we were a 3 vehicle caravan). I was in the first vehicle, a 4 wheel drive SUV, as we tried to back up our Suv slid partially off of the uncleared driveway. The gentleman employee who advised us to not go down the other driveway came and helped the employee stuck ahead of us down the driveway, we were advised was clear. He did not assist us in trying to get our truck out of the snowy ditch. We called the office and they said they would send a tow truck but were not going to pay for the tow although we had not mentioned them paying for a tow and then stated they were only responsible for the house and not making sure the driveway, they told us had been cleared earlier, was cleared. Myself and three other females began digging out the suv and creating a track with dead branches, WE ( using female force and ingenuity) were able to get the truck clear and get down the driveway to the main road. 1. The property never called us back regarding the utilities not being on 2. Property did nothing to clear either driveways down steep hills after snowy weekend 3. Their employee blocked us as they got stuck driving up our exiting driveway causing us to get stuck asking us to back up 4. No one ever showed up to help us get out of the snow they never cleared. WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY!!!! read more

This place is a disappointment. The pictures are misleading. Let's begin; the hot tub for four was NOT. It was small, and you had to sit/recline in it. Meaning, you could not sit upright. There was trash on the property, dead bugs around the house, broken drawers, broken amenities (only two good paddles ping pong, the rest were stripped of padding), dirty and damaged walls, and over 7 lightbulbs missing or broken. This is beyond gently used residence, this was not a well kept place. Having said that, the area is nice. It is great to see the sights and friends, but I would not go back to that rental and not sure I trust Taylor Made. This is unfortunate since they appear to own most of the properties there. The fact that your resort is named, "No Worries" is truly absurd to say the least. My thoughts for this weekend were to have a stress-free, nice romantic, getaway, but this was an EPIC FAIL. Other than the fact I was with my amazing family and we always have fun together, the view and fireplace this weekend was a complete unhygienic, filthy, antiquated, pest infested, MESS. Like I said, where do I begin, oh heres a start, being welcomed by the previous renters dirty laundry on the bench(given our current state and being in a Worldwide pandemic this is completely appalling), or better yet, the stink bugs found in my bed, and the God awful bloody, feces, and bodily fluid stains in the mattress, to bad I didn't bring my black light, to determine what that stain actually was. In addition, the dysfunctional, out dated appliances in the kitchen made our cooking time extended not only minutes, but hours. There were only 3 functional burners, and the knobs were HELLA HOT. When you turn the knob, be aware, you will burn yourself ( I have proof on both hands.) Also, the highs and lows on the burners are incorrect. How is that even possible? So if you want high heat, I suggest you put the burner on low. This is just the beginning of the disappointment of a kitchen. The pots, pans and utensils were filthy, greasy, stained and exuded a foul odor. We literally scrubbed and scrubbed all pots before using. Even then I didn't feel comfortable eating from them. The Keurig coffee maker reminded me of an old fish tank that has never been cleaned. The chandelier above the kitchen was broken and "fixed" with electrical tape. Moving on to the living/family room, the leather couches are sooo old, when you sit on them you completely sink in, almost to the ground. Let's not even mention the floors full of pet hair(from previous renters), dust, old food particles, and God knows what else. It makes sense why we found roaches in the bathroom. The only "nice" part of the room was the fire place and the provided wood..and THATS IT. Moving downstairs in the basement, there are stained chairs, dust, stained drapes, a wobbly high table, an indoor pool and jacuzzi(which we refused to get into because of the unsanitary trends seen ALL THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE), the pool area had cracked painted walls, cracked flooring, and what looked to be black mold at the bottom of the pool. In lieu of a swimming pool party, we decided to play pool with the two sticks no chalk table in the basement. All 8 of us took turns, with the ONLY 2 pool sticks provided. Please invest in some more pool table sticks and chalk. Oh! How can I forget the alarm on the sliding door once you enter into the pool. I get that it's for safety reasons, but I also don't understand the alarm doesn't turn off when the button is pushed according to the directions posted on the wall. The screeching alarm goes off through the entire home. There was one day the alarm went off for up to 5 minutes straight. Can you imagine how annoying that is? Please UPGRADE YOUR ALARM SYSTEM AND LOCKS ON DOORS. In addition, the washer in the basement flooded during a washing cycle. There's so much more to speak on, but I strongly advise a complete renovation, and sanitization of the entire house. I WILL NOT recommend this property to anyone. The amount of money spent for a 2- night getaway was outrageous for the accommodations provided. I really truly expected more, and I am highly dissatisfied with the lack of attention you have towards your property and guest experiences. Checked out early due to the management's indifference to our requests to fix the TV and make the fireplace workable. Called twice. No follow-up from a manager, which was promised. We stayed at "Fox Den." Very nice location, but that's about the only positive thing I can say. There was a dead muskrat (?) in the yard when we arrived. The cabin needs some attention inside and out. Peeling paint, stained throw pillows. So many things just didn't work. Skip this place and skip Taylor Made. Not worth the money. read more

We were invited by a friend to spend the weekend at the cabin rented out by her family for her brother's birthday. We had a blast, no questions there because my friends family was not only welcoming and gave us the best room but also knew how to have a great time. Our cabin was beautiful and pretty huge. We were a group of 15 adults and 3 kids. I'm sure we made adjustments to sleeping situations but it was doable easily. We enjoyed the views and made use of the hot tub in the basement. I had never been to a cabin before and this definitely made me want to make another trip soon. read more

We stayed at the Great Escape with family and overall the house was really nice. Clean with all the amenities. The house slept 14 but there was only 11 of us so we had plenty of room to move around. Unfortunately the hot tub did not work properly as the water temperature never was hot enough. We called maintenance but it was too late in the evening and I believe one of the downstairs' shower didn't work either. Other than those things, everything seemed to flow seamlessly, even with 11 people in the house. read more

First time to Deep Creek which is fantastic. Taylor made Deep Creek Vacations not at all customer friendly. We entered the property Serenity Lodge at 5 pm per the contract. The place had not been cleaned. After a few calls a cleaning crew arrived and we were allowed to enter at 7 pm. Here is what was wrong with the property and our experience with the management company. 1 Not enough sheets 2 hot tub broken and not fixed during our visit 3 grill was filthy 4. Mold on a mattress The mold on a mattress makes you wonder about the inspection process. Was supposed to get a call today about what Taylor-Made was going to do about this. Still waiting. We were offered $100 for the inconvenience on the delayed entry. Given what one pays to rent this property this is a bit insulting. The website says Taylor-Made vacations pride themselves on "excellence, premier customer service, and providing a dynamite vacation to guests". Not my experience. read more

My family and I stayed at a Taylor-Made property two years ago. It was dusty and not fully cleaned when we arrived, but we asked for early check-in, so we overlooked this. WiFi was poor too, but it was a weekend away, so we made the best of it and had fun. I wanted to give it another try so we booked a rustic property across from the ski resort. Unfortunately, we had to cancel 2 weeks ago bc my husband's employer pulled his time off. I purchased insurance and will be submitting a claim. I read the TM cancellation and refund policy when booking, but the more I look at other rental companies, I find the TM policies unreasonable. I called the rental office this week to see if our unit had been re-rented, and they told me it was but for one less night than our reservation, so no refund. So...they have our money and the revenue from the rebooking. And...kind of convenient it was for one less night when I asked??? No more Taylor-Made for my family. Spend your money with companies that actually care about the customers. read more

We rented a house for our company's retreat October 5th - 8th. The rental property was situated on the lake and had a beautiful view BUT it had major problems that at minimum are are a health and safety violation: 1) MOLD in the basement: we discovered mold in the basement and in the bedrooms on that level. The company attempted to bring in dehumidifiers but could not do anything else until after our stay. 2) PILOT LIGHT OUT in the upstairs fireplace and fire hazard in basement fireplace. We asked maintenance to come and look at the upstairs fireplace because it would not light (and we had to practically beg to have them come out). Not only has the pilot light been out, but after we lit the upstairs fireplace and had maintenance light the downstairs fireplace, the fire alarms started going off and house filled with gas!! This is a HUGE safety hazard and shows the property needs to be properly maintained. Think twice before renting with this company! read more

I thought that if I sent reviews to their website, they would be paid attention to, not like when we were there at week and something could be done about it. I was called the day before we came down and was told that the jetted tub in the master bathroom was leaking and not to use it. Taylor Made was quick to call me on Monday to tell me that my parking was in violation of the HOA, but when we stopped at the office on Tuesday morning to tell them a list of items that were not right with the house, the girl at the desk was dismissive and did nothing. This is what we told her: * We arrived to find that the gameroom ceiling was coming down and not even attempted to be repaired because of the leak. This is in a major living area and advertised attraction of the house. I have included pictures. It was disgusting to look at and quite simply lazily left without trying to put ceiling tiles back. There was also a hole in the ceiling of one bedroom. This was not explained- only "do not use the jetted tub." * The WiFi was awful and could not allow for much bandwidth at all, and kept shutting down. There were five adults with careers in the house and we needed to be on our email. Nothing was done about any of the below issues (the fridge was removed a day after we reported) even after she said that they would send somebody. * The house was dirty. No other way to say it. We definitely left it cleaner than we arrived. Carpets were stained and filthy, dirt in corners and baseboards, and the kitchen was dirty. * Lightbulbs missing or burned out all around the house * A broken refrigerator was sitting on our front walk for the first three days until we told the office. Seriously? This is unsightly, top heavy and trap risk dangerous for kids, and it smelled. * The dock was advertised as a nice picture that was not the same dock as was ours, and close to the house. It is actually half a mile walk from the house and completely inconvenient. * The "Bear-proof" garbage bin at the top of the driveway was not so. On two mornings, we found that bears had turned this over and opened it and we had to pick up garbage from all over the driveway and front of the house. They toss it around since it isn't secured to the ground. My family and I have been to Deep Creek for a week 10 times in the past 20 years, never leaving a complaint about a single rental house. We have never had issues, but then again, we have never used Taylor-Made before. Your lack of customer service is astonishing. I visited the office and followed up with a call to no response to my needs. I am not sure that we will ever use Taylor- Made again. read more

My 2016 family reunion was held here. First if you would like early check in it will cost you an extra. Check in is at 4:00pm. So we arrived early and decided to kill time at Walmart. When we returned my family had arrived and were given the code to our Villa. Upon entering they discovered it had not been cleaned. The floors needed to be vacuumed, table was dirty, and towels were thrown in the tub (which is what they ask the guest to do upon leaving). We informed the main office and since we were early we went to see where the other family members were staying and we returned back at about 3:50 it still was not cleaned. We sat out front giving the cleaning staff staff chance to at least arrive by 4:00, this did not happen so at 4:05 we went to the office. The cleaning staff arrived as we were pulling out after 4pm which meant it would be at least another hour. The office staff were really very nice and apologetic. They gave us a $75 food card for one of the restaurants. That was the only hick-up. The rest of the trip was very nice. There's a lot of activities especially for children. The homes are really nice and the people working in the area are friendly. I definitely plan on returning. read more

States in Canima and It was fantastic! Parking for three at this little cabin in the woods. It was one of many cabins that must have been built together. This home had a bedroom on each floor (3floors). The kitchen shared open space with the living room and the basement had a air hockey table, wet bar, and tv. The house had a bathroom connected to each bedroom (3). The floors and walls were wood. There was a separate room for the hot tub which was awesome. The only thing I would have changed is that if It could have a outdoor table. But otherwise It was close to everything. And when the washing machine was t working they sent someone to fix It right away. I will rent from them again. read more

The cabin was overrun with mice, not only in the kitchen, but the bedrooms, bathroom and sofa area. We found "evidence" of mice nearly everywhere in this cabin. Our vacation was basically ruined by all the mice, its hard to relax when critters are scurrying about. Think twice before booking here. read more

Simplicity - yes, it's very simple. Check in was easy, the Taylor-Made Vacations staff were friendly and helpful. Upon arrival to the home, we noticed a very stained and dated carpet. The home needs renovating and updating. As we entered the aroma was close to the scent of sewer water, thankfully that dissipated. Our first night was fun playing cards, sitting around the wobbly, very dated kitchen table. Bedtime arrived, we stripped back the bedding to find dead ants all over the sheets in the upper master bedroom. I guess, it could have been worse, the ants could have been alive. The first morning we were exited to wake up with friends, drink coffee and make a big Thanksgiving breakfast. When we opened the cupboard to search for a skillet, we found 3, one was covered in mold and old food, the other 2 were dirty, so we cleaned them and tried to move on. Unfortunately, the oven took 2 hours to cook diced potatoes. We could have used a skillet, but of course...see above. Breakfast was served on paper plates. Dinner time arrived - we planned to grill out on the gas grill that required cleaning. After searching high and low, we found a grill brush on the deck of the upper master bedroom balcony, it had possibly been sitting there for decades. After grilling we began to plate our food, hoping to use the house provided dinnerware, only to find out that the plates had been put away dirty. Onto day #3 - no toasted bread for us. Why you ask? The 4 slice toaster doesn't work, we didn't learn from the morning prior and once again, we spent most of the morning, attempting to make breakfast. We left the "Simple pad" and spent the day at Swallow Falls...what a nice change of scenery! After a nice hike, we were anxious to come "home" and enjoy a warm shower (haha that's funny) then jump in the hot tub. Unfortunately, the hot tub had a film and the cloudiness was questionable. A SIMPLE suggestion. If you have guest staying more than 2 days, consider sending a pool boy to shock the hot tub! The remainder of the stay, the hot tub was unusable. Although we enjoyed the company and time spent with family and friends, we will not returning, this place was GROSS! read more

If I could give Taylor Made 0 stars instead of 1, I would. If you like companies that disregard contracts AND lock you out of the house you have paid to stay in, then Taylor Made is for you. First of all, upon our arrival Friday night, The sliding glass door was leaking profusely. Someone did come and repair the door. Our group was renting the house from Friday until Sunday. Prior to our arrival, we had agreed to pay a $75 fee in order to get a late check out on Sunday. The company agreed that we could leave at 4 PM instead of 10 AM with this extra fee, which was paid. Sunday morning, we were at brunch when we received a phone call from the company stating that we had to be out of the house 1 PM as there was a new renter arriving at 4 PM. Never mind that we had paid the fee and the company agreed in writing to allow us to check out at 4 PM. They were not willing to negotiate. They also did not offer the $75 refund until they were asked. During a second phone call, the company changed the checkout time to 12 PM. Why offer a service that you are not willing to provide or capable of doing so??? So, we were expected to leave early instead of the new renters having to arrive a little later. They stated that the late check out policy states that it was "pending availability." Yet, they were unable to provide us with a written copy of this policy. When we returned back to the house at 12:45, THE CODE FOR THE DOOR HAD BEEN CHANGED. So we were unable to get into the house to get our belongings until we made yet another phone call to them to ask for the new code. They did not offer a discount or even a simple apology to rectify the situation. Everyone was very rude and completely unprofessional. I will never again rent from Taylor Made. read more

I came here with my friend's church for a retreat. The first thing I noticed was how beautiful the area is. It was a nice change of scenery - coming from the city/suburban area to a more country area. While getting our house information, I noticed how great the customer service was. I also enjoyed the candy bowls, movie renting service, and overall warm feeling I got from the "check-in house". Unfortunately, it took us a good twenty minutes to find our house. The signs were so small we could barely see them. Then the driveway we had to drive down to get to the house was winding, covered with wet leaves, and a frightening experience. However, the house was clean, cozy, and the view was phenomenal. I will definitely come back for another visit! read more

Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations - Guest Houses Near Me - McHenry, Maryland

We checke din 7/15/2021 and out on 7/18/2021. Cameron Station matched the online photos. The home was sanitary and broom clean. We enjoyed every inch of the property and the view of the lake and mountains from the deck. The home is in need of some upgrades to bring it up to better standard. We were unable to have any wifi service the entire stay which affected just about every guest in the group. For some reason the cable worked but the wifi just would not work at all. We called taylor made and they gave us an online tech to walk us through it on day 2. They could not resolve the issue and sent techs to the site physically to troubleshoot on day 3. They were unable to fix it. So, we had no wifi the entire stay. Guests were unable to complete meetings, work remotely, monitor their homes while away, nor receive or send text messages to family. This was the the biggest issue we had during the stay and the most inconvenience. The exterior and some interior windows, including the screened in porch need to have cobwebs broomed away. The screened in porch has some roof leaks. We had a flash flood watch on day 3 of our stay and the holes in the screened in porch roof, which were covered with duct tape, began to leak driving us inside. The ceiling in the kitchen over the stove needs to be cleaned and painted, it is heavily stained with grease and oil and stands out against the white ceiling paint The ottomon in on the main level near the wood burning fire place needs to be replaced. One of the legs is broken it took our electrician, who was one of the members in the group, to figure out how to connect the TVs to cable (we needed to see the bucks and phoenix play). The shower head in the private master suite and the downstairs quarters had heavy water stain buildup and needed to be replaced. The sofa back on the lower level is broken and needs to be replaced The shower grout around the base of the downstairs bathroom is filthy and disgusting and needs to be regrouted The shower stall in the downstairs level is 3 feet wide so you're basically touching hte walls while bathing. The light in the downstairs shower needs to be finished. All shower curtains in the house need to be replaced or washed and sanitized in between guests The toilets and countertops need to be upgraded to accomodate adults. They are small and low to the floor. This applies to all bathrooms. jacuzzi was nice and clean and hot, towels and toiletries were available and clean. Bed sheets etc looked as though they'd been cleaned well. Floors were cleaned and there was not a lot of dust build up at all. House smelled nice and there were no musty odors. Fridge was clean etc. The sliding glass door screens have been upgraded and we loved the tension sliding screens. Just need to finish the exterior and paint. We would return only with assurances that the internet/wifi connnection has been confirmed but I would probably request an intensive cleaning as detailed above. I always so my own cleaning, so if you're interested in staying in that area choose Cameron Station because it has been highly santized. Just know the above details and plan accordingly. read more

absolutely awful property management company. we arrived to a rental property that was filthy and reeked of rotten food. taylor made dismissed our concerns and was not interested in promptly cleaning the rental after we notified them of the unhygienic conditions. the woman on the phone mentioned they launder the blankets on the bed every 3/4 months, LOL. this is not a sanitary environment for anyone - stay away at all costs. read more

Let me first say that I heard sooo much about Deep Creek, I was soo very excited when a group of us planned a trip to celebrate a friend's birthday. We stayed at "Keep Calm on the Lake". I don't even know where to start with the disappointment we all experienced with the home and the Management Company. During this time of COVID we were confident that 'infection controls and simple sanitary precautions" would be evident during our 3 day stay. Sadly, that was not the case. The owners of these homes should NOT just take the word of the Management Company of the services they 'claim' to provide, they should take an active role and follow-up with a performance review quarterly or as often as needed. I recommend if they personally can not visit, HIRE an independent consultant to do a performance review or do a reserve study to protect your investment. Please read the review from Sharon C. on this site. She provided a more detailed account of our stay and the challenges we had to endure. I'd like to reference a few highlights from the description of the house - "Attention to detail, inside and out, makes this the ideal spot to spend quality time with friends and family" --- Well we passed the house because it did not look like the picture and you could not even see the half moon drive way because of the mound of leaves covering the path! "When you enter the main level, you won't waste any time getting cozy in front of the pellet stove and putting your feet up to start your vacation" A pellet stove adds a warm ambiance to this gathering". --- We called twice about the pellet stove that we were not able to experience! The tech that come out was unclear as to who was to provide the pellets.... Sadly we "never did put our feet up to enjoy a warm ambiance" to start our vacation. What we did see was a dirty 'stained' carpet, and steps that with a little effort could have/should have been cleaned prior to our arrival!! "Make memories as you prepare home cooked meals prepared in the fully equipped kitchen," --- we drove to the local Walmart to purchase pans to cook our meals (see pictures) Thankfully we bought our own sheets and blankets... the mattress pads in most rooms were badly stained!! Again, with a little effort each mattress pad SHOULD be cleaned after each visit!! And/or at best inspected. It was perfectly and painfully clear to all of us Taylor-Made over sold and under delivered this property. read more

Wish I could choose less than one star! We stayed at "Cottage on North Shore" (345 N. Shore Drive) for 8 nights @ $221/night which I don't consider to be inexpensive for a 3 bedroom cottage after Labor Day. This house was disgusting and I cannot believe Taylor-Made, or any other realtor, would even rent a house in this condition. The house is very old and has not been maintained. The first thing you see upon arriving at the house is the disgusting piece of carpet on the path, followed by wooden planters full of weeds, some which are in pieces. The main level of the house isn't bad, other than being dark with brown curtains and windows with broken seals making them foggy. The kitchen is functional although our water turned murky the last several days of our stay, the pots and pans are burned and several cannot be used, bottom shelf of 'frig is in utility closet, etc. The screen door has a several inch gap at the top and bottom, therefore, the door cannot be left open for ventilation (no central A/C). The upstairs bathroom is nasty ~ the toilet is loose, the tiles have gaps between them (a child could have done a better job), the tub faucet doesn't shut off, the paint is literally falling off the walls, the shower curtain is brown to add to the dinginess and the only thing left of the towel rack are the brackets (the actual rack is under the sink). The light switches in both bedrooms do not work because the lamps are broken (the buttons are actually broken and the lamps cannot be used); there are fans for each bedroom which cannot be used because they are so disgustingly filthy; one bedroom doesn't have a screen, so unable to leave open. The deck is in extremely bad need of a thorough power washing -- there is mold, mildew, trash on deck; the BBQ is filthy and unusable without a serious cleaning; another pot full of weeds on the deck and a large, broken pot on the ground near steps. We spent a lot of our vacation time visiting Taylor-Made office, meeting agent @ house and calling on phone. The agent (Chris) offered to send a maintenance person, however, we declined as we did not want repairs being made during our week of vacation when, in fact, the work should have been done before renting (it wasn't as though the repairs could have been made in one day). The yard is nothing but tree roots so you have to be very careful ~ however, the lake view was good and the dock in good condition. The agent offered a $100 refund which, to us, was completely insufficient and we declined the insult. I cannot express how disappointed we were with the house and, particularly, the attitude of the Taylor-Made agent. After several conversations I told her I would dispute the charge on my credit card and she told me we would have to immediately evacuate the house as she couldn't let us stay there for nothing! Unfortunately, I wasn't smart enough to read Yelp/Google reviews before contracting with the agency. There are plenty of comments similar to this one ~ so discouraging to plan a great get-away with friends and be so very disappointed. Before i dog Taylor-Made homes i want to give them the benefit of doubt due to covid. Last year i rented a home called Sunset Reflections. Loved the home and wanted to try something different. So we decided to rent out Purrfect Peace. I want to first say the home is beautiful, the lay out and how it was made. However the upkeep of the house was awful. When we arrive we notice mouse droppings all over the home. In the kitchen drawers, on top of counters. We call Taylor-Made telling them of the problem. They send someone to clean the drawers. There was cob webs every where, everything was dusty and looked like it hadn't been clean in months. The second day was the show stopper. Mice started running out in the open. Not one but 4. We called again and they sent someone out to set up mouse traps. The guy who they sent said its that time of year and mice come in to the homes. I totally understand that being a homeowner, however if you know it is a problem why arent provision being made to ensure no rodents or bugs are in the house? You know something called Pest Control? The deck and backyard were nice but no one took the time to blow the leaves off the decks, so i had to sweep everything. There are no cleaning products in the home so you want to make sure you bring cleaning items because everything was dirty. They had the audacity to have check list of things they wanted left clean. (Laughable) Umm how about they make sure it is clean in the first place? We asked for management to call us to see if we could get some sort of refund but of course we haven't heard from anyone. Amenities Outdoor Firepit, Yes but didn't provide any wood so if you want to use it bring your own. Hot Tub-Nice but it wasn't cleaned or serviced, and no one came out to service it. Ive attached pictures of the dead mice that were caught by the traps and mouse dropping inside the drawers. Before I was even able to set my bags down inside of Fir Shore I was full of disappointment. While checking in at the main office I was greeted coldy while asking a few questions. From that moment on my experience with Taylor Made Deep Creek Vacations did not improve. Upon entering Fir Shore and doing a self inspection, I immediately noticed stains on the floor and scuffs on the walls. The house did not seem well maintained and I was embarrassed to be hosting my friends there. While completing a more thorough tour of the house, I noticed an innumerable amount of issues. I discovered (What the housekeeper that showed up late for a follow up checklist from her boss at 430pm verbatim as a"Major Leak" from the second floor that was going into the basement. On further inspection I realized the toilet was overflowing from the second floor bathroom into the basement furnace room. The whole upstairs bathroom floor was covered with enough water you could clearly tell that this home hadn't been inspected before we arrived. After this discovery I went down to the main office again, voicing my concerns for this major leak along with all of the issues. Once again I was greeted with more hostility and rudeness and empty promises that I would be compensated for aforementioned problems. Besides what I have already mentioned there was trash all around the parameter of the house. Maybe some of these issues could have been overlooked if I was treated with just the slightest amount of respect but that never happened. I had to drive down in person because the WiFi hardly worked all weekend. It is unbelievable in 2018, there was not a cable speed WIFI connection in a house with minimal cell reception location at such a premium rate. When I was contacted on Sunday it was just to ask if I had left for checkout. When I responded that I had at 10am and wanted to speak with someone about my unsatisfactory stay I was told I would be contacted tomorrow (Monday) it is now Thursday and the only communication I have had was to give this survey. I will never be staying with Taylor-Made again and I am sure after what my 12 friends witnessed they also will not only not stay at any of your establishments but also share our awful experience with others as they book a trip with this company Fir Shore November 2018 read more

first made my reservation in March and we were unable to go at the reserved date due to COVID 19.  When I called Taylor Made they charged me a $30.00 fee to reschedule to a later date.  Two weeks before my booked date, I received an email stating that I owed an additional $96.00, even though I had already paid in full.  When I questioned this I was told that the price had gone up.  When we arrived, the hot tub did not work.  I called and they told me it would take several hours to heat as it had just been drained.  Well, the hot tub did finally heat up but not until Sunday when we were ready to depart.  The house was nice but between the extra money I was charged, twice, and the hot tub not working, I rate this as a never again experience.  Oh, also, the gas grill was leaking gas and we couldn't use it.  Never Again! Worst rental experience ever. There is zero pride in ownership in the rental property we stayed in, nor was there any help or quality control from Taylor Made. Funny thing is--my inlaws got there first, and they were told "you can't come in yet, we're not done inspecting it yet" which was ok, cool, we're early and they understood. But even AFTER inspecting it, there were dirty, used bandaids in 2!!! of the bathrooms. Used deodorant under one of the beds. Dirt everywhere. CHEWING GUM STUCK TO THE KITCHEN FLOOR. The ac and the heat would come on intermittently, there was no way to control it and their "manual" and help line is garbage. This was an expensive rental and yet it was basically one step above camping. There were no cleaning supplies in the house. NOTHING was left for the renters' convenience--not even salt and pepper. They called it "sleeps 10" but basically all they did was add some kitchen chairs and crappy sofa beds to the place--it really is too small for 10 people. When 9 of us were seated, you couldn't move in the kitchen. The coffee maker was so filthy we were afraid to touch it. The batteries in the remotes were dead. They brag about "lake views" but we could barely see the lake because the windows were so filthy dirty. The house obviously had not been cleaned in YEARS. And--the vacuum cleaner in the house didn't even work! NEVER AGAIN. read more

If I could go less than one star, I would. Upon arrival at the weekend of September 17, I was satisfied with the unit in Kendall Camp, Unit 91. The unit itself was nicely decorated and very spacious. However, I was utterly disappointed the next day when pulling out the drawer under the stove and found mice droppings. Hmm, not too good..but wait it gets better. When sitting down at the kitchen table, mice droppings, when looking at the decor on the kitchen table, mice droppings, in the corners of the rooms, mice droppings, in the bathrooms mice droppings and so on and so on. In the bathtubs dead bugs. So disgusting and unsanitary. I contacted the rental agent and spoke with Chris "the manager". I told her that we needed to move units. Chris stated once you are in a unit you can not move. I can not believe that is their policy. She told me she would send the cleaners and the pest control department. The cleaners were two teenagers who vacummed and sprayed clorex. The pest control was a young man who brought old fashioned mice traps that he wanted to lay throughout the home. Just what I expected when I decided to travel to their resort. lol. The next day the mice were still at the unit as they ate all of our food items such as bread, crackers etc and left more droppings. I called the "manager" again, however, nobody is in their office over the weekend. How does a rental company not have emergency staff? After speaking with Chris after we left, we were offered a $350.00 refund only if we sign a release stating we would not discuss our experience. I contacted her supervisor, Chad Taylor who told me that although they apologize for the mice and unsanitary conditions, they never refund money and $350.00 is the best they could do. Are you kidding me? I spent a weekend away finally during COVID and this disgusting situation is what I had to deal with. Please find somewhere else to stay. "On top of the World"... with NO HOT WATER! Taylor-Made advertised a beautiful escape home called, "ON TOP OF THE WORLD. The pictures give more than what you get. I gave one star because I had no choice. Nonetheless... The home is old and has several inoperable features that are being advertised in the pictures. The only thing that was good about the house is the view. The vacationers design done to this house -- is flawed. The kids room with the 3 beds (with dirty linen) shown in the pictures are in what appears to once have been, the master bedroom closet, so the kids can't leave that room except through the master bedroom or through an old garage staircase in the hall of the space between these rooms. There's a door to this room but it would be like locking whoever in the room until you open it. Also there's the room with the view, "The View Room" which is another "bedroom" that is adjacent to the master bedroom and of course the master bedroom door didn't lock. We arrived on Friday afternoon. One of the other families arrived on Saturday. The heat was inconsistent throughout the house (given the size of the house this was understandable). There were 3 families in the house and the two additional full bathrooms didn't have HOT WATER. The service number was called two times to no avail, we had to make due, so everyone had to use the master bathroom. Needless to say, the master bedroom isn't/wasn't the room for privacy. There was a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom that was extremely dirty. The pictures also advertised a beautiful hot tub outside with lights and an overlook of the lake... it doesn't look that way at all and the hot tub didn't work and also didn't get HOT! The entire weekend was not at all what we imagined, given the pictures that were advertised. One thing is certain, the photographer for this place, is amazing! On Monday when we checked out, I explained the issues with the house and ended up having to go back and forth with the manager about having called the service number, as if, we were okay with having no HOT WATER and the doors not locking or HOT TUB not getting hot! The GM was on site and was neither apologetic, she also contended with whether the service number was called (again-- as if). We rented "Over The Rainbow" and it's seriously overdue for some major maintenance . . . Peeling paint, The formica countertop in the powder room is splitting open ( Formica?? Isn't that from the '80's?) Drapery Rod in Master falling off the wall, Deck is a mess - splinters and rotting wood. You can't walk in bare feet on that deck . . . the worst thing is the living/kitchen area. The contractor who installed the Pergo engineered flooring didn't bother leveling it! So, where the higher kitchen floor meets the lower living room they just added a piece of 4" trim wood - STILL A MAJOR TRIP HAZARD!! Still not meeting code. We had a different house thru Taylor-Made the week prior and were surprised that Rainbow didn't have dish soap, bathroom soap, etc. as the first home did! One would think these little items would be standardized, but no. We didn't realize that in front of this house was a shared dock and that the neighborhood would use the plastic chairs under OUR deck, drag them down to the lake edge - not good. read more

My boyfriend and I rented the Red Pines cabin for an extended stay to ring in 2016. We live 7 hours apart, and Deep Creek is almost the perfect halfway meeting spot. Before booking with Taylor-Made, we looked at a number of different companies and home rentals. After checking out the website, reading customer reviews and looking at a number of different rental companies, we decided Taylor-Made was a reputable company and would be a good fit for us. We booked our stay online without issue. While the cost was a little pricey, Taylor-Made led us to believe our stay would be worth every penny. Leading up to our trip, any questions we had were quickly answered. Two days before we arrived, my boyfriend received a call saying the fireplace in our cabin (which was one of the primary reasons we rented that particular location) was not up to code and would be out of order during our stay. Because this was one of the major amenities used to advertise the cabin (and I'm certain it wasn't a last minute code violation), we asked to be moved to a cabin that had a working fireplace. We were told there were no other cabins available and were given a $75 refund. My boyfriend arrived at the cabin first. Much to his surprise, he spent the first 15 minutes getting rid of cobwebs in the kitchen and living room. After I arrived at the cabin and we unloaded our cars, we went up to the bedroom to unpack. Much to our surprise, there were no curtains on the bedroom window. We got in the closet to grab a few blankets to hang up on the windows to keep the sunlight from coming through and waking us too early. We found 3 extra bed blankets, and when we unfolded them - they were full of what I'm assuming was dog hair and smelled even worse. And we're dog people! While making dinner that night, I reached into the kitchen cupboard to grab a baking dish. When I put the dish on the counter, there was dried food caked in the corner of the dish. The utensil drawer was broken to the point we couldn't even get it open and had to get under the drawer to pry it open. We finally just grabbed enough utensils to use for our four night stay and kept them on the counter. There were at least 150 dead bugs trapped in the florescent light. When I turned on the light to start setting the kitchen table, I found even MORE cobwebs wrapped around the drop light fixture over the table. We wiped those down as well. By this point, my boyfriend mentioned he had been coughing and sneezing since he arrived. We started looking around and noticed there was a dehumidifier next to the door. We found mold all over the side of the dehumidifier. Needless to say, we were really frustrated - not only by the condition of the cabin but because of how much money we had spent on this getaway only to be grossed out and uncomfortable in our surroundings. We called Taylor-Made, and we were told that there was no possible way they could make any alternate arrangements for us and we would need to wait until the next day to speak with a manager. The next day, my boyfriend spoke with Chris (the manager on staff). We again explained our concerns and asked for a partial refund. While he was speaking with her, I was frantically calling other rental companies in the area to see what other options might be available. He was told that she could in no way refund any of our money - "Everyone has different expectations and levels of comfort. Just because your expectations weren't met doesn't mean there is something wrong with the cabin." She went on to tell us the only way we could get some of our money back was to contact the travel insurance company (that you're required to pay for when renting the cabin) and tell them we traveled to Deep Creek to ski. When we arrived, the ski resort did not have snow and therefore, we wanted our money back. Not only were we completely dismayed by the lack of customer service, we were shocked that Taylor-Made would suggest that we make a fraudulent claim to the travel insurance company and blame the ski resort for our disappointing stay. Because of how much money we had already put into our stay with Taylor-Made, we just didn't have the money available to pick up and pay another $700-800 to stay with another rental company. Ultimately, we decided to stay and had a wonderful weekend together ringing in the new year. Deep Creek is a lovely little area and we'd like to come back; however, we certainly won't be renting from Taylor-Made. A quick word about Red Pines: From the outside, the cabin itself is very cute. Once you walk in, it looks like you've stepped into a time warp. The decor is outdated. The kitchen is VERY outdated - think late-1970s appliances. The shower heads in both bathrooms are positioned at a height that makes them very difficult to use. While the actual bedding in the upstairs bedroom looked clean (although dated), the bedding in the downstairs bedroom was extremely dirty. read more

A group of 11 rented Wispering Waters for week long lake vacation to recover and refresh from my prior week spinal fusion surgery as well as up coming hip replacement and a serious auto accident ( 3 different people) As well as two adult children with physical and developmental disability and the rest of the party totaling 11. Upon arrival the main tv and blue ray player did not work. It took 3 days and 4 phone calls to finally get on working order. When the toilet was flushed it sounded as if all the pipe were going to explode. And finally lake access was advertised as a 'short walk to your private dock' In reality it was a walk involving 70 unstable steps with no rail ( yes 70 was the exact number of steps) and then another walk down a grassy incline to a shared dock. More than half of our party was physically unable to make it to the lake. We also had a house in front of our 'lake front' house making it impossible to even see the dock or lake clearly from the far distance ( listed as short walk) Upon expressing these concerns we were told neither the blue ray replacement was Taylor Mades problem, as it was the home owners, contrary to what was said by the maintenance man who spent An excess of two hours trying to fix the TV and Blu-ray as he told us he has a company credit card to purchase items that are unacceptable in the home. Other description Discretions were bed sizes Listed as queen only being full. Our lake vacation was truly not a lake vacation simply because lake access was impossible. Taylor Mades only comment was basically to bad and offered us a 200 refund upon signing a contract removing our rights to ever place a negative review . So basically overall the way the house was described was nothing compared to what we got for $3700 for the week. read more

This was our first time to Deep Creek so our first experience with Taylor Made. We stayed at "At Last" which is a nice home in a private community. The house is "rustic" and definitely had a "cabin" feel. The layout was perfect for our family. The contactless check-in/check-out was great! Prior to the trip, I had called a few times with questions about the house and the area and each time, the girl(s) I spoke to were very friendly and helpful. We did have one issue with the house so we called Taylor Made and they fixed the issue promptly. The only suggestion I would make to the homeowner is to replace the vacuum and maybe some of the mattresses. Overall, very happy with our rental experience. read more

My family and I stayed at "Glory Days" at 3057 Shingle Creek Road and it was, in short, a very poor experience. Winter 2020-21 stay. --Short overview-- Overwhelming cigarette and marijuana smell, bits of marijuana in the rooms, never vacuumed, multiple loads of dirty laundry were left, terrible and unsafe ice from previous weeks built up on the stairs, kind but generally unhelpful customer service. The house itself was well furnished and generally well equipped with kitchen gear, etc. It is not worth the price we paid, even if it was clean. --Fuller Overview-- When we first arrived, we were greeted by an employee returning from "cleaning" the house because she forgot all of the dirty laundry on the front porch. Everything continued downhill from there. The stairs to the house (which are many!) were each covered with a two inch sheet of ice from the previous renters walking all over the snow from the previous storm. When we walked into the house, we were greeted by the completely overwhelming smell of cigarettes and marijuana. Every floor of the house was completely repugnant, and the basement bedroom was so bad that it was completely unusable. To boot, we found bits of marijuana in the master bedroom dresser and the basement bedroom dresser. The washing machine was full of water and a dirty load of the previous renters laundry, and the dryer was full of a dry load fo their laundry as well. So much for the laundry being picked up by the cleaner? The basement bedroom had leaves all through it and clearly had never been vacuumed. Additionally, and I have no idea how this happens, but the ice maker was full of salt and all of the ice was completely unusable! In the middle of the week we had 3 snow plows show up while we ran to the grocery store. When we returned, the plows had completely blocked our driveway, forcing us to park in the snow in order to get out of the road. This resulted in my 4x4 F-150 getting stuck in the deep snow and we had to dig it out. When we inquired as to why the trucks were there, they responded that they were a team there to remove the floating dock, something that was required to be done months ago, not at the end of December! The fact that something that Deep Creek requires to be done well before Winter resulted in our car being stuck in the snow was very frustrating. Our experience with customer service was lack luster. Through multiple phone calls, we finally had someone stop by to deliver a spray bottle of odo-bam, something we had already purchased at the store. When we spoke about the ice on the stairs, we were told "sometimes snow drifts because of the wind." Both of these responses were wildly unhelpful. Taylor-Made has not responded to any requests for a refund and we will be reaching out to the owners of the house to inform them of the terrible management. This is not a rental company I would ever recommend. We have been coming to Deep Creek for 10+ years and have used Railey Mountain Reality most years and have never had an experience like this and have always been satisfied with our experience with them. This June was our 3rd stay at DCL and our first time going through Taylor Made. And, most likely, our last. My husband and I enjoy going down to Deep Cree because it is close and we enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. For the past two years, my cousin and his girlfriend have joined us. Listen...I could write a book about our most recent experience but I will try to sum it up as much as possible. We rented what we thought was going to be a very nice house on the east end of the lake...3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths. The place looked very nice. Our only requirements were that it is pet friendly, has at least partial AC, and a washer and dryer, and was lake front. We found a place through Taylor Made that was reasonably priced and booked it back in February for June. My cousin discovered that the rental was also for sale...for a hefty price. We assumed that this meant that the rental would be in even better shape than we first expected, since they are trying to sell it. At first glace, our property was 'cozy'. However, after further inspection, we noticed several issues. I will name just a few, because I could sit here and type all day: the dock slip was missing the ladder (which was discovered at the bottom of the lake), there were several stains on the carpet, the door to one bedroom would not shut because of a dent in the track, the door to the same bedroom had a big hole in it like someone punched it, there were huge scratch marks on the master bedroom door (most likely from someone leaving their dog in there), the 2nd bedroom had a ladder that you need to crawl up into it, and both gates on the deck were broken. Lastly, the partial AC meant that only the 3rd bedroom had air...since it is obvious that there was an addition put onto the house and the AC was not vented into the new addition. There was also water damage everywhere. We were never made aware that the house was listed, even though it had been on the market since November of last year. We knew this because there was binder with the disclosure statement on the table. We arrived on a Saturday, and it rained all day Sunday. We didn't do much, just hung around the house until the afternoon. I went to grab a shirt out of the bedroom closet and noticed it was wet. We soon discovered that there was a leak, coming from the fact that several shingles were pushed up under other shingles on the roof. There was water everywhere! The entire closet was soaked and I had to remove all of my clothes. The water was leaking out onto the carpet, so we had to put towels down on the outside of the closet door. The water was leaking down through the closet as well, into the small den off of the kitchen. There was also water coming Out Of The Wall on the stairs! Needless to say, we contacted the rental office (we stopped in), who said that someone would come take a look at the place and let us know what they can do. My cousin inquired about a partial refund, since the place was not up to our expectations. We were told that we needed to speak with someone the following day and that she would have her call us. We were also informed via a note on our door upon our return to the rental, that maintenance would be back in the morning to repair the roof. At 10:30, no one had arrived and we had not gotten a call from the supervisor chick. I was given the honor of being the voice of the group from here on out. I contacted the rental office was took that rental chick was in a meeting - Mondays were busy, you know. Anyways, she returned my call and was extremely irritating. When I mentioned that the room was starting to smell musty due to the carpet, she offered to have housekeeping come out and bring more towels and spray febreeze. Um, whatever. Fix the roof. Maintenance did finally arrive at 12:30 and mentioned several times that they place was in need of many repairs. The two handy men were the only saving grace from the entire episode. They took pictures of necessary repairs, temporarily repaired the roof, and put up a ladder on the dock slip. After several phone calls with the supervisor girl, I asked again about a partial refund. I said that we did not expect to get all of our money back, but we did expect something. She said that it was not typically Taylor Made's policy to refund, but to repair the damages. She also put it on the renters, like we are supposed to be the ones to Inform Them of property issues. "I mean, how else would we know?" I told her that I didn't understand this, since they are supposed to be checking the properties in between renters. Regardless, I told her that we expected nothing less than a partial refund, and she finally conceded. She made no effort to get us interested in using Taylor Made in the future. No complimentary restaurant coupons, etc. I was astonished. The very next morning, the same girl calls my cousin and asks if we mind if they bring someone by to look at the place, since it's for sale....unbelievable. read more
