One of the two charming beds that are in each room.

This place was quite a surprise. From the outside it has a nice look but maybe dated. When you open your door to the room you get a huge surprise! You step into a beautifully decorated country cottage. The room is equipped with 2 queen beds,a sitting area with table and chairs, a refrigerator, microwave, and full-size Coffee maker. For the cozy country charm you receive, you'll be surprised at the low cost of the room. The staff has been excellent and we look forward to visiting again.

Clean rooms, excellent customer service. Beds were on the soft side, water pressure was low, in room coffee was weak.

Roadtrip! But, be…read morecareful - you might miss the driveway. Yes, even some of us seniors still take (as SNL Steve Martin and Dan Ackroyd said) "wild and crazy" road trips. Except in our case....maybe not so wild, just a bit crazy. Truth be told, there was some method to our madness in straying from the beaten path. After a 3000+ mile driving trek across the Southern and Mid-Atlantic states, my wife and I decided to avoid high traffic truck-infested roads on our return home to Middle Tennessee. So we programmed our GPS to use only secondary and tertiary rural roads through Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky. What a hoot...what a great trip! At the outset of the trip (and for the record) the Isaac Jackson Hotel isn't exactly off the beaten path, but then again, it doesn't sit right next to a major Interstate. Regardless, it was on our route and it did fit our needs perfectly. Only tiny glitch - again at the outset - was that we overshot the driveway to the hotel. A quick trip around the block and we were back on track. The hotel sits up on a hill overlooking a part of Elkins and the driveway is adjacent to a nice restaurant, the 1863 Grill. You actually have to drive through the parking lot of the 1863 to get to the hotel! Once conquered, the hill proved negligible in our stay, and we quickly settled into a beautiful, comfortable hotel. Nice size room, clean and well-stocked with toiletries, towels and essentials. Great shower with detachable hand wand. Clean and neat accommodations. After a comfortable night, a notable moment: breakfast. Attention to detail! The breakfast lounge is spacious and spread out over a beautifully decorated lobby that includes traditional table and chair sitting areas, a larger family-size or conference table, and a cozy fireside sitting area with overstuffed chairs. The selections include standard "free hot breakfast items" along with some locally prepared specials. The egg and cheese omelet is plain but can be enhanced with the addition of sausage or you might add one of the small containers of Tostito Salsa and make it a Southwest style omelet. Add a side of locally prepared stewed apples (or use them to top your "make your own" fresh waffle. If you lean more toward a simple bagel or English muffin with jelly, pick one of several individually wrapped (yes, personally wrapped for freshness and to keep wayward, clumsy fingers off). Cold cereal, fresh juices, hot freshly brewed coffee or tea, or a glass of Vita water...the selection is amazing. But wait...there's just a bit more. How about some freshly cut fruit or...on this morning, famous fresh 1863 Grill Cinnamon buns....Oh, so, sweet! And a real Roadtrip delight only slightly off the beaten path.

The Isaac Jackson is an older hotel which has been remodeled recently & looks very nice. The lobby is quite large & the entire hotel smelled nice! No musty smells at all!! The rooms were very clean and spacious. The bathrooms were large & clean as well. The beds were very comfortable & I got a nice night of sleep on them. They do offer complimentary breakfast which included biscuits & gravy, sausage, potatoes, cereals, waffles, juices, coffee & some of the best damn cinnamon rolls you will ever eat! I must also say that the hotel staff was very friendly.

Resort is very nice. I would love to see it during the summer. In saying and in my opinion,…read more this casino resort needs to update things in comparison with its competitors. It is very outdated and does not create a relaxing environment for all of its patrons. It seems that it's geared toward elderly non smoking people. Machines are ancient and there's no suitable clean area for people that actually smoke. The high limit room is disgraceful for a high limit room not a single updated machine. Perhaps this casino should View some of its competitors to see what actually makes a high limit room work. Rooms were comfortable but bed awful pillows. Bathroom- no shelving in shower to put soap etc, looks like it was ripped off. Strange. Restaurant is completely over priced for quality and our server the morning of 3/24/26 left us waiting and asking for everything and they were extremely slow. She seemed annoyed to be waiting on us. Casino- nothing going on as far as entertainment because it was beginning of week. Just gonna tell you that our party at four watched for three days we never saw an attendant making a hand pay. We never heard a single bell at all. We never saw a single person when anything of significance. I have never been to a casino where there was no walking around Cleaning machines, taking orders. The bartender told me that she takes it upon herself to walk around and wait on people so that she can make enough money to survive. Every conversation with the employee led to them complaining. . I never saw anyone in three days achieve a hand pay ...never heard any bells. If there are slot attendance, which I never saw those I don't understand how they make any money because I promise you it never happened so they didn't make a dollar in tips. The are high roller they'd like to smoke cigars and you can't do that here. The only thing that I saw was an overabundance of security guys that really did nothing. High limit room is a joke. Compared to my Pittsburgh area casinos, I can understand why no one ever played in that room. It's usually a room where guys that are betting like to enjoy a cigar and a nice drink while they relax in this casino you can't do that. have to go outside on the dirty porch with old machines that have lines running through the screen. Put more updated machines in and give people a smoking section the same as you do non smokers. I know people say this all the time, but this place is tight! As a gambler, I get more excited seeing other people win and I'm willing to spend more of my own money that was never the case here unfortunately you just anybody win anything. 2,000 later and we never won anything to keep us playing, as well as the couple we went with. 100 largest win. thr Resort seems like it would be lovely in the summer but the casino does not appeal to the gambler. We want a clean environment, great service to be able ti have the choice of a nonsmoking or smoking section, and also to receive a little bit of playback to keep you going. Unfortunately, this casino did not hit any of those marks. It does not appeal to a typical gambler. The average wealthy that would be willing to throw down some money might want to have a cigar and a nice bourbon. He will be in for a wake up. Call when he's thrown outside into the screened in porch filthy outdated machines wit zero cocktail waitresses. The smoking section is actually outdoors and it was freezing with a screen separating the outside. Get newer machines, wait on your customers and provide an indoor clean smoking area equivalent to non smoking!! People won't want to leave their seat! You have to leave your seat for everything! Makes it really easy to quit spending money. This review is very frustrating because I think the resort is beautiful and I want to like it but all of those things mentioned above make it difficult. It does not appeal to all people that like to gambler. It appeals to elderly non-smoking individuals and even they can't get a cocktail waitress.

Nestled in the heart of the Laurel Highlands, these upgraded suites embody a seamless blend of modern elegance and rustic charm. From the moment we arrived, the experience was elevated. The Lodge's new grand entrance--a gorgeous porte-cochère, expansive glass, and an accessible design--immediately signaled the thoughtful transformation underway. Inside, the lobby unfolds like a storybook scene: a dramatic split staircase, a cozy fireplace, sumptuous furnishings--all infused with a touch of whimsy and glamour. The suites themselves were stunning. Spacious and beautifully finished, they reflect the resort's woodsy elegance through distinctive color palettes and upscale décor. Ours featured modern amenities that made a real difference: a Nespresso coffee machine to kickstart the mornings, a Dyson hair dryer (yes, really!), and plush butler service that took convenience and indulgence to the next level. These thoughtful touches elevated every moment of our stay. Depending on your travel party, the resort accommodates beautifully--options range from cozy Junior King Suites to expansive Penthouse Suites with multiple bedrooms and balconies overlooking the serene grounds. We felt truly pampered and inspired to unwind. No need to leave the property to be indulged. Dining at the new Fawn & Fable was a highlight--farm-to-table steakhouse excellence with imaginative, artful plating and local ingredients that transported us to a fairytale setting. Evenings were best spent at Circle Bar, enjoying creative cocktails in an opulent setting, or slipping into the library-style Study--a hidden gem perfect for quiet conversation under a starlit painted ceiling. In the mornings, The Patisserie was our go-to for delicious espresso and pastries in a bright, airy Parisian-style café setting. Beyond our suite and spirits, the resort's amenities truly complement the experience -- from world-class spa treatments, golf courses, and thrilling outdoor adventures to curated wellness moments. In short, our stay in the renovated Lodge suites was pure enchantment--a perfect mix of luxury, comfort, thoughtful design, and impeccable service. Nemacolin continues to raise the bar, and we can't wait to return.

We recently stayed for two nights in the Chateau building. While the room itself was nice and met…read morebasic expectations, the overall experience fell incredibly short for a luxury resort. Here is the breakdown of our stay: The Room & Bedding The bed was extremely uncomfortable, which was especially difficult for my husband who recently underwent back surgery. The standard pillows were awful, but luckily they have a "pillow bar" with eight different options. Being able to swap them out was a saving grace, but the mattress itself left a lot to be desired. Room Service Completely out of the question. Despite advertising 24/7 availability, we tried calling to order food and were left waiting unanswered for 10 minutes just ringing on two separate occasions. Talk about inconvenient. The Butler Service While the staff was pleasant, the execution was a mess. We had a late night at the Circle Bar and planned to sleep in, specifically scheduling our morning coffee delivery for 8:30 AM since we were traveling without our kids. Instead, the joke was on us: we were abruptly woken up at 6:30 AM by a butler delivering someone else's coffee and milk. Once disrupted, we were wide awake for the day. Dining: Hit or Miss (Mostly Miss) Fawn and Fable: The steak was great, but the sides were a disaster. The potatoes and broccolini were completely undercooked--serving raw potatoes at this price point is totally unacceptable. Service was also lacking, and our water glasses sat empty almost the entire meal. Aqueous: A major disappointment for breakfast. I ordered the huevos rancheros (one of my favorites), and the sauce tasted like it came straight out of a cheap tomato can. My husband's breakfast was mediocre at best, featuring burnt bacon. (Seriously, how do you burn bacon?). Our waiter was completely MIA, and the food took forever. On top of that, we overheard a waitress at the next table comparing the restaurant's bread to Aldi. That is exactly what you want to hear at a self-proclaimed 5-star resort. Circle Bar: This was the highlight of our trip. It offered average food but by far the best service and drinks, likely because we chose to sit directly at the bar. The Peak: Average food paired with average service. It felt like something you would expect from a standard chain restaurant, not a luxury property. Summary: For the price and the reputation, the lack of attention to detail in both the service and the kitchens was incredibly disappointing.
