Only one left in motion, but line was crazy long!
    Sam D.

The ski resort is very nice but the snow tubing is not. I had a two hour segment of time to snow tube at the resort. The resort was functioning with five employees at the snow tubing area. The tubing lifts were both operational, but only one was in use and the line was 30 minutes long. I asked the manager why the second line was not in use and he said because it was so cold that they had to have the employees on 15 minute shifts. It was 4 degrees and the employees were well clothed. well, they should've done a better job scheduling because there were five employees sitting on their phones inside the lodge. Manager and staff was extremely rude to me when I asked them. If I could give this a zero out of five stars I would!!!

Ski review! One week before this trip we rushed to order ski lift/rental passes when we realized they were almost sold out. HIGHLY recommend ordering tickets well in advance, we only had the option for a 4 hour night pass + rental. The passes were pricy, but well worth it for the nice runs. We ski once a year, we definitely aren't professionals. I really liked the green trails because they were very long and the views were spectacular. The bad thing is that EVERYONE was congested on the trails when we first got there. This was scary, but we managed to not take anyone out. As the night progressed and it was dark, I couldn't believe just how dark the slopes were. This could definitely be a safety concern, especially for people who haven't been there before.

I can with ease cross skiing off of my bucket list at this point. My husband and I decided a couple weeks before Christmas that we would take our family on a ski trip just a quick getaway. We got a very great rate for our room and in my opinion the resort is a great bargain. We arrived a little after 5 PM and we checked in. There are several reasons I am dinging them a star one is because of the check in being so late. However the grounds are lovely! They have a good size indoor pool that you can use year round. They also have a great sitting area downstairs for families to come on down to and play board games. The rooms could definitely use some upgrading however I did feel like for $114 a night my family and I were comfortable and have plenty of space to include two TVs and two separate living areas. For me this is fine however I'm sure that most families can agree the upgrading would be a bit nice. The resort itself has a wonderful skiing set up at least I thought so. Although I didn't do much myself I tried it for a few minutes Fell and decided this isn't for me. However the Children seem to have a wonderful time. They skiied for a few hours actually. The ski instructor we had whose name escapes me was wonderful he stayed with my children and a few other people for almost an hour and was happy to give tips it was super super helpful. I really thought that you only get that kind of attention with a private lesson not a group lesson. He was great I really wish I remembered his name. This location was fantastic and so close to the water I will say I will definitely be back so that way I can enjoy deep Creek Lake

Came here for a Winter getaway and vacation with the family. The resort hotel leaves a lot to be desired....but "Boy-oh-Boy" the snow grounds, skii school, views and skiing activities here are so much fun and not that expensive either. It snowed all weekend so that helped it really feel like we were at resort in Colorado or Utah, considering it was Maryland! :) The Ski school was fantastic! The staff were very friendly and so patient. They took their time to make sure everyone got the hang of it being beginner skiers and no one was left behind; including the highly-challenged big guy amongst mostly kids who kept falling.....not saying any names, but you can assume it was me! lol. The resort itself is bit dated and the food just ok, but there's lots of surrounding restaurant choices nearby. If they updated both of those areas the price and overall experience would be top notch....a 5 Star Yelp review for sure. The only other issue we had was the process with getting your rentals at the ski rental booth. There were young adults and older teens running it. And, they were slow and seemed less then thrilled to be there. But, once we got our ski equipment and got outside....it was a fun experience from beginning to end. Overall, we had a really great trip and would definitely return to WISP for the outdoor ski activities, but we all decided that we will rent a house near the WISP slopes or somewhere near another main attraction here in this area, such as the Deep Creek Lake.

We went snow tubing here and it was so fun! We went on a Wednesday so got to snow tube for 4 hours for the price of 2 hours so definitely recommend that! It was also not busy at all so we never had to wait in line! I only took away one star because the ramp that took you to the top of the tubing hill broke down twice during our session and we had to walk to the top of the hill on foot, but other than that, super fun experience!

We visited the Wisp for some early March skiing and snow tubing. All tickets must be pre-purchased online this year. This policy allows them to regulate crowds. The lines at the lift were not too long on Friday evening for night skiing. They still had a 36" base. The lodge is cozy and well equipped. They have some fairly standard food options. The lost and found people were really helpful when someone in our party had lost a car key. Today, I went back for snow tubing. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, and the lines were long. But it was still lots of fun.

Our group of 7 had a very nice time at the resort, which is very close to restaurants and bars as well as a grocery and liquor store. It was also about a mile from where we stayed. The staff were extremely conscientious about how we can maximize our value by allowing us to purchase a three-pack of mountain coaster tickets and use among three people. They also allowed one of us in our group to exchange the ropes course for a mountain coaster ride after a change of heart from one in our group. You do have to fill out standard waivers before participating in any activities, as expected. For a Sunday morning around 10:30am, I was surprised that there were no lines for either the ropes course or for the mountain coaster, the two activities we participated in. The mountain coaster was initially scary but ultimately tons of fun. It is a single-person cart for which you control the speed, somewhat. It's good for children and adults of all ages, so bring the kids and the grandparents. There are some scary--well, thrilling--turns. It's about a 5-minute ride (maybe longer, I didn't time it). I rode twice! The ropes course involved only about five or six sets of obstacles, but it took about 45 minutes to complete. Only one person is allowed per obstacle so you have to wait until the person ahead of you is safely on the next platform. The instructors were youthful, energetic, and informative, conveying safety with humor. You can zipline from one obstacle to another but that's less fun. When you reach the end, you zipline back where you started. I recommend both of these activities!

My review is for the summer activities only. I took the family for the adventure park to ride the mountain coaster. Upon arrival, we saw various lines in different areas. We walked up to the building to purchase tickets. Fortunately I looked at the website ahead of time to get an idea of what to expect. The signs inside indicate the prices for each activity. It's pretty expensive (a single rider one time down the mountain coaster is $19; double rider is $24). I opted to get the 5 option pick and choose pass for $79 because we were able to use the same pass for all of us. We loved the mountain coaster and would have gone more times if it wasn't so expensive. We also did the scenic ski lift which was pretty cool because they let you get out and walk around at the top before deciding when you want to catch a ride back down. My only recommendation is that they add large signs to indicate what each activity is.

TL;DR: everyone stayed safe and had fun!…read more Our family did this as an activity on vacation. It was easy to book online, and thankfully the weather was beautiful. What could have been better: communication about what to bring or not to bring (yes to a way to secure your glasses, no to water bottles or a dry bag for water /snacks /sunscreen); where to park (across the bridge near the beer store or at the public park); and that the "snack" after the trip is a full meal (pulled pork, hot dogs, sides). The restroom-changing facilities are fairly primitive on site (women's side includes a single curtained toilet, single shower stall, a chair behind a screen, and an open area with a bench, a chair, and an uncovered window that overlooks the take-out site). What was great: the emphasis on safety, quality materials, communication between the team members, THE RAPIDS. My favorite one was whatever one we had just finished. I never buy the ride photos, but I did this time because we wanted to commemorate a great afternoon, and to reward the team for good work. Two fit 70-year-olds were able to do this with their 30s to early 50s children. Can recommend!

If you plan the rent from this company... please read and take pictures of your boat before departing. I reserved the boat on Friday 7/11 for use on Tuesday/Wednesday 7/13-7/14. When I called it seemed like was interrupting something.. he asked if he could call me back. Didn't ask for a name. He did call back. He was polite on the phone and was able to quickly make our reservation. I still felt like something was missing. I wasn't asked how many people. I had to ask. Wasn't told no pets. Or ANY rules/regulations. I asked how early I could pick up and that was pretty much it. When we went to get the boat we were told our reservation was canceled. No one in our group canceled that reservation! They said someone called and claimed to be getting deployed for military. I was told we could pick up as early as 9AM, but we came to pick up after 11AM. Thinking they just gave our boat away??? The people in front of us did not have a boat reservation. Took over an hour to get the boat. They gave us a "consolation" boat. The thing to pull rafts on the back was broke. They gave us a rope to try to figure another way to tow a raft. Boat was dirty. Canopy was taped together. No anchor. Kids ended up having fun so the day was a success. Day two it was raining off and on. The lake was a little choppy. We stopped to fish and jump in. Our boat wouldn't restart. We called into the marina and the helped us trouble shoot. We had to tighten the battery terminals. Then the canopy started to fall apart the last hour. My daughter's boyfriend was trying to hold it together as we were trying to get out of the rain. It was just falling apart. My husband and daughter were both hit with the bar when it came down. When we returned to the dock, it was like they were waiting to charge us with damages that they knew were going to occur. There was a lady there who was not there when we picked up the boat. She was yelling at us about the canopy and blaming us for the battery wires becoming loose. She said that happens when you hit bumps in the water. We were charged over $200 for gas. The gas gage was broke so we didn't realize that it was low. We were still fine with that charge. They charged us a $150 fill up fee on top of the $200.. also fine with that. We misunderstood the return boat time. First night was 7:00 and second night was 5:00. We returned at 5:30 the second night so that was a $50 charge.. our fault! The guy running the desk was nice, but not super informative on a lot of their "rules". The lady when we returned the boat was horribly rude. She left but the called into the desk. We could hear her telling the guy to "deal with them". She told him that we owed over $1400.00. Added an additional $900 for the broken canopy which was already breaking when we took it out. After reading all these reviews from over 7 years ago, I can't believe they are still in business. Lesson learned.... Read the Yelp reviews! Take pictures when something seems wrong. Go with your gut when booking!!!

Spending your hard earned money will get you this: * Algae on the boat floor (even though the sign out front says "Cleanest Boats on the Lake") * No anchor! * Masking tape "reinforcing" the bimini -- seriously, they tried to fix it with tape. We rented a boat for two days. First, they canceled our reservation -- so when we showed up, we had to wait an hour just to get on a boat. The one they gave us was junk: algae on the floor, broken bimini, crusty leather seats (I could go on). We rented a tube, and they gave us the wrong rope. We had to go all the way back ourselves to switch it out because no one was there to help. On Day 2, we took the boat out and stopped to fish. When we tried to start it again, it wouldn't turn on. The boat started floating toward shore -- and guess what? No anchor. We fixed it ourselves (and even told them how to fix it, hope they listened). When the wind and rain started, we headed back. We tried to raise the bimini with the motor, but the tape snapped -- and a pole smacked my dad in the head. When we pulled in, the owner walked up with a clipboard, sighed, and said, "So what are the damages?" Like she expected the boat to fall apart. Then they tried to charge us for the bimini and claimed we must've hit big waves and broke it ourselves. They scam their customers -- plain and simple. Spend your hard-earned vacation money somewhere else. This place does not care about you or your experience. Have a great trip -- just not here.
