This place is absolutely amazing and beautiful!!! The staff was very friendly and very accommodating! They have plenty of different types of rentals, from boats to cruise or relax in with motors, or single to 2 person kayaks. Usually you would need to go online and reserve what you would like to rent ahead of time but I am guessing we went during an off-season time of the year. There were plenty of boats to rent still, except all the pontoons were booked, so we decided kayaking was the next best thing. Once you pay for the rentals, you walk down near the dock where these young gentlemen fit you for your life jackets and hand you paddles. Another group of gentlemen got the boat rentals ready for us and as soon as we were ready to start our journey, they push our boats in. Overall this was a great experience from customer service, rental process, and comfortable kayaks. Will definitely come back to this business again and hopefully I will be able to book the pontoon ahead of time! read more

We called around to a few places and found Aquatic Center to be the most competent, available, and affordable of the area options for boat, pontoon, and jet ski rentals. The staff are young, yes, as someone else pointed out, but professional, helpful, informative, reliable, friendly, and competent. The few people at the front desk, the guys at the docks, all nice and eager to help. We rented a boat for 2 hours for five of us at $260 total split five ways. The boat held about 11, so if you had 11, it would be only about $25/person. Even at about $52 a person for 2 hours, it was worth it. What a fun experience! The only few things to keep in mind: 1. If you hit a wave at a high speed, be prepared to get your passengers soaked! 2. Bring towels to dry off and some water-resistant pouches/bags. 3. It can get really windy out on the water, so you might want to layer up. It was a chilly 65 or so and barely sunny when we went. The experience was very freeing and relaxing. I've never done it before so the newness maybe intrigued me and guided this review to five stars. read more

Brand new pontoon boat, with excellent service. We had a great full day on the Lake. Drove all the way South to the Dam, into coves, checked out some of the spectacular homes on the lake, went swimming, shopped at Arrowhead and had our lunch out on the water. But the most AMAZING thing was a black bear crossing our boat, see photos. He took note of us, carried on swimming and got out of the water on a private property. We understand this is quite rare and we feel privileged to have seen this spectacle of Mother Nature. 4 star instead of 5 star because 470 USD (incl. our gas consumption) is quite pricey for a couple. read more

This was our first trip to Deep Creek Lake and a boat was top of our list of to-do's. The Aquatic Center made things easy. We originally rented for Tuesday, but saw big storms coming and we're able to work with them ahead of time to move to Friday. They were more than accommodating. When we got there to rent the boat, their paperwork was well organized and easy to fill out quickly. Aidan (I believe that was his name), got us squared away with life vests, a tube, and our pontoon boat. He explained everything thoroughly and made me confident to operate the boat safely. The boat was in great shape (it's a rental, but very well maintained). If you want to pull a tube, make sure to get the 115hp. We had a great time on the water and will be back next summer. read more

We called looking for a boat last minute on a Saturday in June 2021. We got there at 3:30 but couldn't rent a pontoon, instead we got a speed boat . We were grateful because we knew it was last minute . Everyone got on board & had our safety briefing.....off we go . Hurray ! Well, not so much . We saw DNR pulling people over , we looked for the life preservers under the seats ....NOT ONE ! We did find an Ants nest . The dogs were uncomfortable on the ride. We stopped for a while near a cove , the water was very chilly, no one got in, except my youngest who was threatened with a push (lol) . After hanging our feet in the water for a bit , we drove around. Boat was sluggish & uncomfortable, we returned it early. We went from very excited, to concerned for our safety to Very disappointed! read more

I came here for the first time on a Saturday around 2pm, and while the website stated that they didn't have any remaining paddle boards/kayaks, they did manage to keep a stash available for walk ins. But this is about where the positive experience ended with this company. My friends and I rented our respective water crafts, then walked down to the supply shed to get our life jackets. Man, I have met some unfriendly people in my life, but the guy working the shed there easily takes the cake. One of my friends doesn't know how to swim, so while I was helping her put on her life jacket (the only way we could convince her to get into a boat) I overhear the worker tell his coworker "if these two girls knew how to f!cking put on a life jacket." WOW. Really cool, we're off to a great start. Then once we get into the water, there's no instruction as to how far we can go, what to do if we run into an issue, or any general safety tips. And as luck would have it, 2 of the 5 paddle boards that we rented had a loose dry compartment lid which meant that water was able to seep into the dry storage WHICH MEANT that the paddle board was getting weighed down by a ton of water and would no longer float. If you tried to sit on it, the board would just sink lower and lower into the water. I'm a pretty strong swimmer but at this point we're about a mile away from the return spot and none of us were strong enough to swim with a weighed down paddle board in the middle of the creek. Luckily we were such a large group that some of the party were able to row back to the center and tell the workers to tow our friends back to shore. What an an awful experience. If you're going to rent from these guys do a couple of things. Make sure to only rent a kayak, know how quickly put on a life jacket, and carry a whistle on you in case your boat starts to go under or else you might have to ditch your boat in the middle of the creek while you swim to shore. read more

*Update******** the boat was falling apart when it was rented to us. There was nothing we could do about a piece of trim that was screwed on by the company by a few rusty screws :) The boats are quite literally falling apart. We lost a piece of the boat that was poorly screwed on while we were driving it which was extremely dangerously. They haphazardly screwed this piece on. Absolutely 0 care is given to the boat or the safety of its passengers. And the best part? We had a two day rental so after notifying them about the piece falling apart, they gave us the same boat the next day with one screw in it. Of course we lost that piece. So stupid They also charged us $35 for a lost gas cap that was not there to begin with. We tried to argue but they literally will not (1) listen to you nor (2) give you the time of day. Absolutely rude customer service. Inspect your boat thoroughly before renting to prevent this happening to you. $35 for a gas cap is laughable anyways. Look at west marine, cabelas, amazon and you will see the true price for a sacred gas cap- What a way to get you. Haha. Additionally! The gas station said "oh you don't have a gas cap" when we pulled up, Carol. No clue how or why these people are in business with such awful boats and customer service (or lack of customer service) Rent elsewhere! read more

I rented a pontoon boat here while on vacation. Boat was new and also had a larger outboard motor then what bills marine had to offer. Bills boats looked old and falling apart. When I return to deep creek I will rent from here again. The pricing for the rental was also great! read more

Parker, Carol and their entire team are amazing. When another boat company ruthlessly voided our contract for using our own floats in the beginning of our week at the Lake, Aquatic Center literally SAVED our lake vacation. They were friendly, professional and had just the right mix of boats for our desired uses. They made the rental process easy, honest and transparent. Beware. DC Lake Life is a financial scam and their unprofessional business practices will ruin your vacation either during or on the back end. Was an ok experience. A bit overpriced for such a small inland lake jet ski route ($100/hr for outdated Skidoo). The dramatic warnings from the 19 yr old cashier trying to scare us about quadriplegic injuries and police presence on the lake were over-the-top. Best customer service in Deep Creek. We rented a pontoon boat and a tube for the day to start our weekend get away. The boat was clean and well maintained. The staff was very thorough about going through the best safety practices and how to use the boat correctly. Even more memorable was the way they went above and beyond for me to help recover my phone that fell out of my pocket as I was stepping from the dock onto the boat. A kind gentleman that works there, Vova, dove for an hour while we were on the lake trying to recover my phone - no luck. He then continued to look for it for a couple more days - and found it 3 days later. He was generous enough to ship it to me and wanted nothing in return. Extremely grateful for his help and kindness. Aquatic Center employs the best people around. read more

Second time renting powerboats at the clean and organized Aquatic Center. Professional team checked us in using COVID-safe practices. At the docks, Aquatic Center employees hooked us up with a brand new pantoon and were very good to make sure we had a safe and fun experience. Their boat was better and faster than other rental sites and it still cost less. Everyone returns the boat around the same time but the guys on the doc managed it perfectly. There was no drama getting our deposit back or dealing with fake charges like I have read at other sites. We tipped them to say thanks. Valets get tips for just parking your car. These guys are working way harder in the hot sun helping guest with questionable boating skills so I say hook them out on your way out with a nice cash tip. read more

The Aquatic Center has the best boats on deep creek lake! The staff is very nice and helpful when it came to all of my families questions. We got the 115 pontoon and were very excited to receive the newest silver boat in the fleet! When we came back the staff helped us out with gassing the boat and made the check out process extremely quick and easy. Website information was a little misleading. The workers were extremely rude. We ended up leaving immediately. Don't give them your money... We went to FunTime watersports instead. They have much better customer service and great prices. I recommend going there instead. EDIT: I see that the manager has responded to my review. I am not a competitor of theirs. I couldn't care less about either of the two businesses after I leave the area. I was visiting for the week from Pittsburgh with friends. People are aloud to have a bad experience and their own opinions on a company. Im sure people have had a different experience with the company than we did. We rented 3 kayaks and a SUP to be delivered to our vacation home. Everything went perfectly! The rentals were in great condition, the pricing was affordable, and the delivery/pickup went smoothly. The staff at the Aquatic Center was super easy to work with, especially when we called to see if we could extend our rentals by one day. We had a great experience here. Starting with actual rental procedure, the employee explained everything clearly, made sure I had a boating safety certificate (Maryland's version of a boating license) and was polite and efficient. The guy on the dock was equally professional and helpful. Finally the young lady with whom I spoke to confirm the return of the boat was very friendly and cheerful. The boat was in great shape (although I think the fuel gauge was off since it showed we'd only used about 1/8 of the tank and we had actually used about 1/3 judging by the amount it took to fill the tank-I probably should have told them this, but I forgot). I did not sido much shopping before renting here, I mainly decided where to rent based on positive reviews, but I would be surprised if there weren't slightly cheaper places. However, you pay for what you get and their rates were probably on the high side of reasonable. Overall a very positive experience and I would highly recommend this place. read more

Awful service. We called to reserve a boat to use a $500 gift certificate we had. We were told we didn't need to reserve since we had a gift certificate. We drove 2.5 hours and arrived at 10am to be told they were out of boats, too bad, sorry can't help you. Never rent from them! read more

We came to ask if they rented jet skis. The employee's response to all our questions was "I don't know." He even suggested that we use Google. Like we didn't already try that. He was very unhelpful I'm disappointed. I would expect a native to the area to know this information. This had nothing to do with staff shortages due to Covid this was simply a matter of someone not wanting to be helpful to a visitor. read more

Had a new jet ski on hold with deposit . I told Parker I would inspect the unit thoroughly​ when I arrived​ (190) miles.Got there and it was outside and looked like hell with parts missing and left in the rain. Poor service and attitude lost the deal. Owner knew about sale and should of had this ski detailed and ready to go. WAIST OF TIME. We did our research before hand to see what we needed to rent kayaks here and a few other places in the area. This seemed like the best place and it was. We wanted to rent kayaks for a few hours. You can't reserve them if you just want them for a few hours. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. I looked into renting a boat and jet skis but being out of state it seemed like it wasn't too worth it to rent a boat but next time I think we will try their jet skis. We parked and went in and was greeted right away. We told them what we wanted to do. We first said we only wanted to go out for an hour but they side if we were out there and wanted to go longer than a hour we would have to come back in and pay for another hour. So we decided to go for two hours and it was only five dollars more. So it was worth it. We rented two double kayaks for my wife, myself, and our two kids who are 9 and 11. We all received life jackets which were included with the price. The kayaks were in good condition and we had a great time going up and down the lake. When we come back to Deep Creek I'm sure we will use the Aquatic Center again. read more

Rented a ski boat for a week while staying at a house in the lake. After a few days the boat started having some mechanical issues. Brought it back and the guys treated us well...swapped out the boat for another and we were on our way. Nice guys and a professional organization. Don't forget to tip the dock attendants...they work their ass of and will take care of you the best they can. read more

Low prices and capable service. The equipment seems old and beat up, so be careful what you select. The awning on our boat had a broken support which was not tied down, almost hit me in the head when it dislodged when boating on the lake. Rented 2 kayaks and paddle board for a few days while on vacation with the family. The daily rental rates and delivery fees plus tax certainly aren't cheap but I thought they were reasonable , especially since I didn't have to drive into town with a kayak strapped to the roof of my Honda Civic These kayaks are much nicer than the one my family has anyway.
