For breakfast, there is actually a menu where you get to choose from quite a few choices which is very rare in a b&b. Everything was delicious. He also provides snacks and wine every day in the late afternoon and there are always sweet treats like cookies and brownies available as well as coffee and teas. There is a small gift shop where they sell some Lakepoint Inn shirts, sweatshirts and mugs as well as bottles of wine. There are so many wonderful seating areas, all with views of the lake whether you want to sit in rocking chairs or comfy wicker chairs on the porch or at some bistro tables on the back patio or Adirondack chairs by the fire pit. As a free service he also offers hour long rides on his pontoon boat every morning (weather permitting), you just need to sign up. There are also kayaks and canoes available to use for free, you just need to sign a waiver. Scott is a gracious host and the Inn is wonderfully appointed, you lack for nothing. The only complaint I would have is that if you stay in the Vagabond Room, be aware that because it is on the ground floor and right beside the kitchen, you will hear people talking and the hustle and bustle of breakfast being prepared. Not a problem if you're an early riser at about 5:30. But the room was huge! And felt very luxurious with bookshelves and a seating area and fireplace. We will definitely be returning to this Inn!!!!!! I can't say enough great things! Oh, also the location is fantastic, you're near everything!

Parked our two valuable bikes in the garage and told us that the door would only be closed to secure the bikes once everyone was in for the evening, in other words didn't care about securing our hard earned valuables/property and/or didn't want to spend the quarter on electricity to open it and close it a couple of times. When asked if any luggage had been delivered, she responded "I don't know, I don't care about or pay attention to luggage"! Next, we received our elementary school style stern lecture on how everything worked around the house. Told us we got no breakfast because we were leaving too early (7am) and that we had screwed up by not making the ride into Cumberland, as that was the best day. After my shower, my threadbare towel nearly tore as I dried off. Stay elsewhere unless snarky and aloof service on the cheap is your thing!

It was located on the back road from the main street down the hill on what looked like a small farm. There was a beautiful pond just behind the B&B but it was partially frozen. The scenery was amazing to look at plus they had a small red barn just to the left of the entrance. When we entered we were greeted right away. We received a free bottle of wine and 2 glasses to take home with us with inscriptions of the bed-and-breakfast name on it. The rooms were very clean and well-kept although I do want to complain that the bed was not as comfortable as I thought it would be but it was rather stiff and bouncy. The pillows weren't comfortable either they were flat instead of fluffy like the kind I'm used to. When evening came we decided to get into the Jacuzzi but when I ran the water for some reason it looked brown. I took a clear glass and scooped some water out just to make sure and thought it was okay to get in the tub because the glass was clear. I later developed a rash on my neck and four arms and thighs from what I now know is called hot tub rash. I thought it might have been a necklace I began wearing but when the rash started showing up on other parts of my body that the necklace had never touched, I knew that this had to be it. The staff was very friendly and accommodating but another downside to this place is that the walls and floors are extremely Hollow. I could hear the guest above me walking around and making noises that sounded like they were bowling. we had to ask them to settle down so that we could sleep. I could also hear people talking out in the common room as if they were right next door even though we were a good 30 or 40 feet from the entrance. Breakfast was very good in the morning so I have no complaints about the food it's sad to say though they had to waste a lot of it because people didn't eat. There's one kitchen that all the guest shared that included a refrigerator, stove and cabinet space. A lot of the people there were very friendly and allowed us to partake of their food and drinks while we were there. The BnB also supplied snacks and beverages for us to enjoy. I'm not sure about the other rooms but our room had a Jacuzzi and a fireplace and a king size bed. I didn't get much sleep because of the room being so bright do to the fact that they have those candle lights in the windows. The owner said that I could have unplugged them but I didn't want to bother with their decorations. I'm very upset that I have to give this place a low rating it was so beautiful upon first sight but after the fact it was just upsetting. I would probably only return here if I was able to sleep upstairs and be sure that my hot tub was cleaned properly.

They are super friendly and knowledgable about the area, so don't be shy to ask them questions about recommended places to see it activities to do. The inn is equipped with a ton of amenities; such as free wine and beer, endless DVDs of current and newly released movies, and bikes if you choose to go exploring. Plus much more. They even do a bonfire on the weekend nights with smores!! The location is set back in a secluded area away from the main resort and areas of deep creek, so it's a nice refuge but still close enough to everything. Every aspect of our stay was surely above my expectations. I would definitely recommend for couples or anyone looking for a nice comfortable place to stay in deep creek.

I can't speak for how the dynamic would feel for those just seeking a single room (although this is, I suspect, most of their business), but it was perfect for our needs. It's an older building, recently and seamlessly expanded to accommodate a healthy crowd. It's charming without being cluttered with country knick-knacks. The proprietors are helpful while respecting your privacy. It's comfortable and clean. The wireless internet and satellite television are nice (since cell service is pretty much nil here). And the house is right on the river (as is pretty much everything else in town). Confluence is obviously in the middle of nowhere, but it's a beautiful nowhere. It's in the heart of the Laurel Highlands, a stone's throw from the Yough River, a short walk to decent eating and the Allegheny Passage bike trail, and a short drive from Fallingwater, river rafting, etc. I'll close with an anecdote about small town hospitality. My brother's kids left behind a few items in a downstairs closet. They live more than an hour away in Pittsburgh, so retrieving their toys would have been no easy task. But he called the Parker House, and they knew of someone who was going to be traveling to Pittsburgh the following weekend. The toys were carried along and dropped off. How awesome is that?

The bathrooms were large and the rooms very spacious. It's easy to get to off trail. The Negatives - It shouldn't be called a Bed and Breakfast as there is no breakfast provided, something we didn't know until we arrived. We never met the owners which is a little unusual for a BnB. Also, there is nowhere to eat in this town and we strongly feel the owner should let you know the restrictions before you book. There are two restaurants in town, both which have extremely limited hours after Labor Day so neither were open. That leaves one gas station to get your meal from, and apart from the obvious downside of eating at a gas station it also closes at 7:00 so you're out of luck completely after that. Had we known we'd have no dinner options AND no breakfast we would have ridden the extra 10 miles to Ohiopyle and had a much much better time.
