From the moment we arrived, it was obvious that Mo has thought of absolutely everything. Our room was beautifully appointed, warm and comfortable, with an incredibly comfy bed and wonderful linens - which were VERY much appreciated after a full day of riding the GAP! Every little detail was there: a fan, a noise machine, charging cables, and all those thoughtful touches you don't realize you need until you need them. The entire house is absolutely beautiful. It's so tastefully decorated while still feeling warm, welcoming and homey. You can tell how much thought and care has gone into creating a place where guests can truly relax. And then there was breakfast! Absolutely amazing. Mo is such a warm and friendly host and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The GAP biking community and the town of Meyersdale are incredibly lucky to have the Inn on Main - and we feel just as lucky that we were able to get a reservation. This is one of those special places you remember long after you leave. We will absolutely be back.

My two sisters and I (and our significant others) came to celebrate a milestone birthday and were beyond impressed with this place. The ambiance is fantastic! The courtyard is beautiful as well as the patio in the back. The decorating that Kitty has done throughout the inside of the house is really beautiful. And as David says, "We want to concentrate on two things: The bed, and the breakfast." And that is exactly what they have done here. Each evening, David will come to offer your breakfast choices for the following morning. And it's not just bacon and eggs people... these are GOURMET offerings all made fresh on site using fresh ingredients. We had a choice of a peach cobbler oatmeal that had peaches from the tree in the backyard even and it was delicious! There was also one addition that just made my stay even more superb... a little dog named "Jack" and he is the most precious (smiling) doggie that I have ever seen! So stinkin' CUTE! Anyway... if you are ever in the area (checking out Frank Lloyd Wright's work) you should definitely give this place a shot. They are phenomenal! Thank you David and Kitty! I'm a little shocked and I guess it all depends and I'm not judging how we all were brought up to me. I didn't see anything wrong with that part of time people go sketchy and everything. I thought it was fine. I didn't feel unsafe there. I thought it was just an older part of town and I thought it was super close to downtown, which is great. I would recommend staying there. The only issue I had was and, this is me. I can't sleep with a fan going loudly I have PTSD and it kinda keeps me hyper anxious. My wife on the other hand love sleeping with the fan so she would think it was great and I'm sure some people would. that's you know for some people. That way the only issue I had and it's definitely not their fault. I understand that's how they call the rooms down I get it. It's an older building, but that was the only thing that was kind of difficult for me. Other than that I would stay there again just not in the hot weather once.

Make the Alpine Retreat your Destination at Seven Springs…read more ....use the resort for skiing and save the $$$$. Location. You can walk to Seven Springs Mountain Resort from Alpine Retreat. Parking is easy in and easy out, I recommend in heavy winter and tough seasons to contact the host to make sure all roadways are safe if you don't have 4 wheel drive. Alpine Retreat. A home more comfortable than home. It is warm and cozy and inviting. The two fireplaces are fully stocked with wood, the fridge is stocked with all necessities and extra beverages and food (in case you lack preparation... such as I). Also everything is labeled so you don't have to search to find anything in the kitchen or throughout the house. There is firewood well stocked, with an outdoor firepit for cooking and relaxing. Underneath an outdoor deck that can host a large group, with a grill and bar, sits a six-person jacuzzi with bluetooth connection. There is ample land to enjoy lawn games and a good game of catch. Lastly, there is a basement cove with a bar that would make for a good night cap after the hot tub cover goes back on. Our Experience. Our host picked us up some craft Sam Adams beer and made us dinner. I don't want to promise that this exception is made for all the guests, but I have never been better received by a host in any hotel or inn I have ever stayed. We had a massage therapist come for a traveling massage from Body in Balance Healing Center. $100 for an hour (excluding gratuity) was so much cheaper and personalized than the overpriced spa at Seven Springs. I slept like a rock, but I did bike (not very well) quite a distance before my stay. The sheets were fresh and clean and everything was spotless in the house. We were encouraged to eat the food, use the washer/dryer and put our feet up... which we did so well. Overall. Buy the ticket, take the ride. You won't have a better host, I would lay money on that. The house is cozy and inviting and I will be heading back there at the next opportunity. Thanks again!

Stopped at this venue looking for refreshments after my bike ride from Deal, PA to Frostburg, MD…read more After making the beautiful trek to Frostburg you bike up a short switchback to the town. You will come directly in front of this place, both for lodging and food. I was about to go inside when Steve, the owner, came out to greet me. I inquired if he sold food, specifically ice cream and he informed me he did. He went to a little outdoor post, a small building in front. I was able to get an ice cream sandwich and diet coke and sat outdoors at a table and chairs his establishment provided. It was a weekday and no one was there so Steve sat nearby (socially distancing) and we chatted about the weather, the trail, and his business. I recalled having been here several years ago and asked him about it. He said he has been the owner for this, his 3rd season, now. He offers lodging in the building and a campground. He also offers shuttle service so that is definitely good to know. Steve provided great service, good info on his place and good conversation. While I was waiting for him to prepare my order another young woman employee came to me to make sure I had been taken care of, as well. So, if you are in need of lodging along the GAP trail, some food, or shuttle service, make sure to keep Seve in mind.

Follow the switchback up from the trail and go straight along the trail at the top. The lodge is located in front of the Western Maryland rail terminus. $15/pp to get a campsite. Showers, soap, shampoo, and towels are included in the price as are logs for burning in the fire pits located around the campsites. The camping area is located above the lodge in a secluded clearing in the forest. Downtown Frostburg is just behind the clearing through the trees. Your bikes and gear are safe at the campsite. Nobody touches your stuff

They picked us up in town and dropped us back at the trial. Made it easy. And we Really enjoyed talking with them. Had a great time meeting and petting all the animals. The cats were super friendly. Comfortable beds. And breakfast was great. Plenty of food to fuel our ride. It was a relaxing night. I highly recommend it.

Having raised animals for decades we really enjoyed the numerous variety and species that made the backdrop for their place. Located up in the hills behind ''downtown' Confluence it was a nice change from the standard places we were stopping as it had an awesome 'country appeal' to it. We were invited for a crab leg dinner with them that Kim was preparing but had plans out in town already. The breakfast however I can report was first rate and powered our ride up over the continental divide the following morning. Our only regret was that we didn't have more time to stay & explore. We'll be stopping again on next years trip.

When the opportunity came to spend a girls weekend away we opted for Glamping as an adventure to explore and enjoy time away to relax and unwind. I am so glad that I stepped outside of my comfort zone and enjoyed a fantastic two nights at this absolutely stunning and wonderful place. There aren't enough adjectives to describe how truly amazing this place is. It has to be experienced. Before we were even leaving we were already planning our next visit. This will easily become an annual event. No doubt. This retreat would also be a terrific place for bachelor/bachelorette parties, girls weekends, guys weekends, birthday celebrations, baby moons, honeymoons, book clubs... absolutely any reason to escape into the arms of nature where you are surrounded by the beauty of the area and amazing amenities. Regardless of how many people are in your group, this place has an option that is not only affordable but also guaranteed to give a fantastic experience to all guests in your group. There are cabins that fit 12 people (their own shower/bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, fire pit with chairs, grill), yurts (personal fire pit, covered picnic table, outdoor chairs, grill), and a main lodge room (keyless secured entry, sleeps 8, connected to communal kitchenette, showers, restrooms, lounge space, grills, fire pit). See their socials for the options. There's also a terrific map that will show you where all the amenities are located in relation to the sleeping options. Regardless of which one you pick, you will have your own personal space along with clean and well stocked communal areas. We decided on a yurt. This was on a platform with parking on both sides if needed, our own personal covered picnic table, personal grill, supply of kindling/firewood, outdoor seating, two queen beds, two benches and small table, air conditioning, two electric fans, fairy lights inside, and a small lamp. We were absolutely blown away by the amount of details that were taken in this space to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. Upon entering there's a box of necessities that were on the bed. This was full of flash lights, lighters, fire starters, fly swatter, guest book, pen, bug spray, walker talkie (in case of emergency), and some chargers. The air was already on so the untidy was comfortable when we arrived. This is a self check in and out retreat where they communicate via text and email alerting you to your accommodations. Each bed had linens provided, 2 pillows, comforters, and additional blankets at the bottom if needed. There were 16 available outlets for your things and two USB plugs. There are throw rugs and a two large entrances on either side of the yurt (both with a screen and a closed panel). There are 3 zippered windows that you can open and the top of the yurt has clear panels that you can see out of if wanted. We kept the 'blinds' up to make it cooler since this was August. It's nice to have the option to open the cloth 'blinds' from the top of the yurt so you can see the stars through the plastic panels. We kept the windows closed as we had the air and the two fans running (one oscillating) which really made the yurt comfortable even in the summer heat. When the sun went down, it was even cooler. There's a mat out front for wiping feet and a plastic mat with sides in the inside so you can take off your shoes to keep your yurt clear of dirt. There's also a metal trash can with a lid. Everything you need is here inside. It is absolutely adorable!!! The fairy lights just add to the vibe at night. The yurts do not have a kitchen or a bathroom. You have to walk to the communal area. There are two - one in the main lodge for yurts 1-6 and another smaller bath house/kitchenette for yurts 7-9. Yurts 1-3 are in the meadow. Yurts 4-6 are in a wooded area. Yurts 7-9 are near the cabins and have a much shorter walk to the smaller amenities than the others. If you need to use the restroom frequently throughout the evening, I would suggest yurt 7 as it is just a few feet from the communal bathroom. The communal spaces have been well thought out and are so incredibly clean! The main lodge had a large fridge stocked with their Meade that you can purchase, a full size fridge to throw your food in, a freezer full of ice for purchase, a sink, a coffee pot, microwave, hot pot for tea, seating area, and trash cans. There's also paper plates, bowls, utensils for you to use. They also have water bottle fillet station throughout the property and item for sale. There's snacks, Mac and cheese, ice, charcoal, gloves, hats, water bottles, shirts, etc throughout the property for sale. Simply use the QR to make the purchase. Super convenient. The main lodge had a massage room, shower room with 4 private showers where towels are provided (washrags are not so bring one - the shower has shampoo,
