What a great experience. On our way to Ohiopyle we decided to just stay the night and explore more…read morein the morning. Looking around for some interesting and fun options we stumbled upon this B&B and decided to call to see if there were any openings. We were in luck! We quickly gave them some information and made our way down there. Upon our entry we were greeted warmly by Liberty the proprietor. She was wonderful and made check in super easy. I made myself some tea, helped myself to some gingersnap cookies, and got settled in for the night. The room was spacious and comfortable. The shower had a never ending (or so it seemed) supply of hot water and there was more than enough towels. I quickly felt at easy in the room and knew I would be getting a good nights rest. Breakfast, Liberty informed us, was held at two times, 7:30 and 9am. We picked to have ours early, which I was against, but it turned out wonderful. We got to eat a nice early breakfast and then went back to bed! Check out was at 11 so we got a few more hours of relaxing in before we hit the hiking trails. Yes, a late start, but the bed was too comfortable to leave! Breakfast was delicious. Scrambled eggs, french toast, sausage, and a fruit cup. They had orange juice, coffee, and tea. What a treat! The food was perfect. I could not ask for a better breakfast. This place was perfect. I would stay here again in a second. It was also so close to the attractions of Ohiopyle that it would be stupid not to suggest everyone to stay here!

Liberty and Jim are really wonderful people who own a cozy bed and breakfast. Now I don't know…read moreabout you but I love the country welcoming feel of places and this had that quality. Not to mention the breakfast was fresh and delicious AND. My favorite part.... during the afternoon Liberty put out brownies and cupcakes for treats!!! I'm a pig so that was awesoooome haha. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to be comfortable without spending a ton. About 5 minutes from falling water, 20 minutes from kentuck knob, 10 minutes from the windmills across from the stone quarry (worth a gander!) and I dunno. 10 minutes from Ohiopyle park? VERY close to everything!!!

I don't know why anyone would stay anywhere else in Meyersdale. The Red Lantern is top notch!!…read more To be honest, I wasn't really overly excited for this trip. But my boyfriend was doing a gravel bike race here and I reluctantly came along. And I just fell in love w Meyersdale. What a charming little town w the nicest people. And Regina is the best BnB host ever! I've never stayed in a place that was so well thought out. Regina made the BEST breakfasts for us each morning. She had a coffee and tea station that was sooo up my alley. She had so many options of loose tea and I think I drank 2-3 cups a tea each day bc the tea was so good. She had tons of sweetener options to put in your tea (although I drink mine black so I didn't try them out). Anything you could have forgotten to bring (and I mean anything) Regina had on hand. She just had so many extra touches that made the stay a step above the rest. We were here on a colder fall weekend and we had the cutest matching robes to wear. And slippers. The home is stocked w organic, low chemical products. Regina cooks w many local products and makes a concerted effort to reduce waste. I know this isn't important to everyone but it is to me and I wasn't expecting to find this in small town America. We def plan to come back to Meyersdale and when we do the Red Lantern will be where we stay!!!

Josiah and his wife are super friendly and courteous. The house is clean and inviting with an beautiful antique feel to it. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The shared bathroom features a claw foot tub with both a shower and bath option with ample single use soaps, shampoos, conditioners. At this time, breakfast is arranged where Josiah arrives in the morning to make it or you can let him know you'll make it your-self. The refrigerator is stocked well for your breakfast needs. Bikes are not permitted in the house or on the wrap-around porch, but storage is available under the side porch. Even though the storage area is out of sight and it's a small town, I'd recommend locking your bike under the porch. I'd most definitely stay here again. My only recommendation for improvement would be adding a lock to the bike storage area.

Stayed there last night. Snarky and aloof hostess (owner). Greeted us after 5 hours of pedaling on…read morethe trail with "Go to the Garage". Not hello, welcome, thanks for staying with us or anything even close. Parked our two valuable bikes in the garage and told us that the door would only be closed to secure the bikes once everyone was in for the evening, in other words didn't care about securing our hard earned valuables/property and/or didn't want to spend the quarter on electricity to open it and close it a couple of times. When asked if any luggage had been delivered, she responded "I don't know, I don't care about or pay attention to luggage"! Next, we received our elementary school style stern lecture on how everything worked around the house. Told us we got no breakfast because we were leaving too early (7am) and that we had screwed up by not making the ride into Cumberland, as that was the best day. After my shower, my threadbare towel nearly tore as I dried off. Stay elsewhere unless snarky and aloof service on the cheap is your thing!

It is cute, cozy, immaculate, comfortable room and bed, porch to cherish, close to the trail and has a great breakfast. Now, the best part. we met owners Chuck and Denise for the first time. So pleasant and helpful as can be. Our group had an injured rider stay for two days even while others rode. Seriously, between the owners and an angel employee named Loretta (?) they cared for him like he was family. We would/will not stay anywhere but Yoder House given the chance to ride GAP again.

The charming inn and restaurant are framed by a beautiful garden that doesn't just stop at the front as a facade but carries on around the side and back. It is the real deal. I know most people do not look at these things but I do and enjoy when these details are tended to and kept up. Gift shop is equally as lovely and fun. Great food!

It's decorated very nicely (lots of bike themed things since they cater to bikers from the nearby trail) and the whole place is so quaint. There are common areas to hang out that have plenty of comfy seating, along with games and books for guests to use. We had fun playing chess! The dining room has a small fridge and microwave and utensils available for guests. Everything was super clean. My sister said her bed was the most comfortable bed she's ever slept in, though bed preference will always be subjective. The breakfasts they offer are delicious. The owners were super friendly and welcoming. There's also a hot tub available! Don't be like me and not come prepared with a swimsuit.
