If there were more stars, this would qualify. This place is absolutely magical. I am not a camper in any sense of the word. When the opportunity came to spend a girls weekend away we opted for Glamping as an adventure to explore and enjoy time away to relax and unwind. I am so glad that I stepped outside of my comfort zone and enjoyed a fantastic two nights at this absolutely stunning and wonderful place. There aren't enough adjectives to describe how truly amazing this place is. It has to be experienced. Before we were even leaving we were already planning our next visit. This will easily become an annual event. No doubt. This retreat would also be a terrific place for bachelor/bachelorette parties, girls weekends, guys weekends, birthday celebrations, baby moons, honeymoons, book clubs... absolutely any reason to escape into the arms of nature where you are surrounded by the beauty of the area and amazing amenities. Regardless of how many people are in your group, this place has an option that is not only affordable but also guaranteed to give a fantastic experience to all guests in your group. There are cabins that fit 12 people (their own shower/bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, fire pit with chairs, grill), yurts (personal fire pit, covered picnic table, outdoor chairs, grill), and a main lodge room (keyless secured entry, sleeps 8, connected to communal kitchenette, showers, restrooms, lounge space, grills, fire pit). See their socials for the options. There's also a terrific map that will show you where all the amenities are located in relation to the sleeping options. Regardless of which one you pick, you will have your own personal space along with clean and well stocked communal areas. We decided on a yurt. This was on a platform with parking on both sides if needed, our own personal covered picnic table, personal grill, supply of kindling/firewood, outdoor seating, two queen beds, two benches and small table, air conditioning, two electric fans, fairy lights inside, and a small lamp. We were absolutely blown away by the amount of details that were taken in this space to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. Upon entering there's a box of necessities that were on the bed. This was full of flash lights, lighters, fire starters, fly swatter, guest book, pen, bug spray, walker talkie (in case of emergency), and some chargers. The air was already on so the untidy was comfortable when we arrived. This is a self check in and out retreat where they communicate via text and email alerting you to your accommodations. Each bed had linens provided, 2 pillows, comforters, and additional blankets at the bottom if needed. There were 16 available outlets for your things and two USB plugs. There are throw rugs and a two large entrances on either side of the yurt (both with a screen and a closed panel). There are 3 zippered windows that you can open and the top of the yurt has clear panels that you can see out of if wanted. We kept the 'blinds' up to make it cooler since this was August. It's nice to have the option to open the cloth 'blinds' from the top of the yurt so you can see the stars through the plastic panels. We kept the windows closed as we had the air and the two fans running (one oscillating) which really made the yurt comfortable even in the summer heat. When the sun went down, it was even cooler. There's a mat out front for wiping feet and a plastic mat with sides in the inside so you can take off your shoes to keep your yurt clear of dirt. There's also a metal trash can with a lid. Everything you need is here inside. It is absolutely adorable!!! The fairy lights just add to the vibe at night. The yurts do not have a kitchen or a bathroom. You have to walk to the communal area. There are two - one in the main lodge for yurts 1-6 and another smaller bath house/kitchenette for yurts 7-9. Yurts 1-3 are in the meadow. Yurts 4-6 are in a wooded area. Yurts 7-9 are near the cabins and have a much shorter walk to the smaller amenities than the others. If you need to use the restroom frequently throughout the evening, I would suggest yurt 7 as it is just a few feet from the communal bathroom. The communal spaces have been well thought out and are so incredibly clean! The main lodge had a large fridge stocked with their Meade that you can purchase, a full size fridge to throw your food in, a freezer full of ice for purchase, a sink, a coffee pot, microwave, hot pot for tea, seating area, and trash cans. There's also paper plates, bowls, utensils for you to use. They also have water bottle fillet station throughout the property and item for sale. There's snacks, Mac and cheese, ice, charcoal, gloves, hats, water bottles, shirts, etc throughout the property for sale. Simply use the QR to make the purchase. Super convenient. I have myself time to come down off my high from this place! It was absolutely stunning. First encounters: Website: the website is full of information. So much so... that it is easily overwhelming, but take your time. Reservations: My sister made them, but there were several times that I had to reach out to the Owner Ryan for clarification & he was simply amazing. Even answering questions on his personal phone. Drive: I am located in GlenBurnie. The drive was about 2 hrs of peace. Straight shot for the most part. Be aware that the closer you get to the cabins...the more winding the roads become. Take your time & drive slowly. Enjoy the change of scenery. Check-In: I was the first of our group to arrive. Upon checking in I meet the general manager Lisa (My new BFF). Lisa is warm & inviting. Hilarious even. She reads the rules to me; explains the grounds to me & gives me a proper tour of everything. When I tell you she left no stone unturned...she absolutely did not. She made me aware of the walkie talkie for communications purposes. She will check in with you the entire stay! Accommodations: My sisters and I shared the Warrior pod room. Usually it sleeps 8, but there were only 3 of us & it's early in the season so that could be accommodated. (Please note: in the busier season you will have to book a full room...makes sense right) Our room had 3 queen bed pods. Super spacious and equipped with plugs in each so you can keep your electronics ready! Our room was made up by Tammy. She's housekeeping there and she is also AMAZING. She came and ensured we were all comfortable & brought anything that we needed. Our room had a back door leading to the rest of the grounds. Just beautiful. Kitchen & Restrooms: There is a community kitchen. It literally has everything but an actual stove. Full size fridge, full size (state of the art washer/dryer, microwave & coffee maker. You literally only need your food. There are also grills located behind each accommodation. Each collection of pods or tepees have their own bathroom (toilet & sink). There are 5 (I think) community showers that each lock and have their own space. 1 being a handicapped accessible shower. Walking the grounds: Everything on the grounds are fairly close together. Take a flashlight because at night it can get dark in areas. There are two friendly fur babies (Aspen & Goose) don't worry they are absolutely friendly and are mascots to the grounds. They are well taken care of by Mike! At some point we were walking around and we met Meghan. She's the other owner & when I tell you she has the best spirit I have ever encountered she does! She mingles and gets to know the people while she is there. Truly a beautiful person. She is knowledgeable about damn near everything! True Bad Ass! Happy Hour: Did I mention happy hour was including in our stay. Man there is nothing better than Sangria, Draft beer & s'mores in front of a roaring fire. We totally sucked at making s'mores, but everything was great. We even got to meet Mr Robert or "Summie" I hope I spelled that right. He came and fixed our sad fire lol He is equally hilarious and inviting. I'm telling you this place has a theme! Lol Dinner: We did order dinner one of our nights and let me tell you the food was amazing! It was flavorful & was hot waiting for us. I went to River Mountain for my birthday and cannot say enough great things about the place! Everyone that works there is soo kind and friendly, they are truly so welcoming. We had the best time hiking, making smores, lounging in the hot springs tub, doing yoga etc! You will not run out of things to do if you come here. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable, we stayed in a cabin room in the main lodge. Darci is the best and her beekeeping experience and honey tasting was amazing. We had the BEST time at River Mountain this past month! My two friends and dog went on a weekend glamping trip and booked one of the yurt tents. Prior to the booking, Ryan answered all of our calls and questions in a fast and courteous manner. His positive energy made us excited for the trip - and once we arrived things met our expectations and more! Driving to the grounds was easy, and parking was safe. We got checked in efficiently and was driven to our tent including our luggage for easy travel. The yurt was clean, stocked with warm blankets and many flashlights, and a propane heater (will be transitioning to pellet stove). We also had our own fire pit/wood. Well spaced from the other two yurts, we felt like we had our own privacy but also safe enough that if we needed help someone could come by. The yurts had a communal area within walking distance that had a sink/nespresso machine/HUGE industrial fridge/2 bathrooms with huge showers and toiletries, and an outdoor picnic area with BBQ grills (free charcoal included!). Even though this was a "shared" space, we barely saw the other yurt tenants and felt like we had enough storage for our food and enjoyed cooking many of our meals (although the premesis does offer catered food if your party desires). What truly was the gem of River Mountain was the AWESOME staff and all the details they included on their premises. First, Mike is the BEST groundskeeper and all-around incredibly helpful with answering our needs, teaching us how to make a fire, and going out of his way to remember our names/things about our group to make us feel welcome. His dogs are absolutely adorable and so fun to play with whenever they were nearby. We also met Brandon who was equally kind and helpful. Our group loved exploring the facilities including all the games available in the big cabin, the free happy hour (sangria yum!), and the beautiful hiking trails (with hammocks scattered around the route). One of us had some last minute work meetings scheduled, but WiFi was available throughout the entire premise so we never had issues connecting despite being in a no cellular area. Overall, we loved our experience and 100% will be coming back! I've already told all my family and friends about this wonderful gem. read more

Absolutely amazing! My friends and I rented a cabin at River Mountain after seeing a post about this Glamping site and one of our Facebook groups. I must say customer service was top notch Ryan was there to assist from grabbing bags to unloading to anything and everything we need it he was there within minutes and provided services for our group. The overall site is just phenomenal very clean well-kept and just a beautiful place to spend a couple days to be one with nature. Everyone on site was truly amazing from the happy hour to lighting up the campfire to just overall hospitality. We did have one issue while we were there that was very frustrating but we're going to chop it up to may be a little bit of miscommunication. There are yoga platforms out on the trail that we were told we can use it anytime and when we went to go have a yoga session with our group there were three ladies on another platform that stated we weren't able to use them and that we had to come back in an hour. unfortunately we were checking out that day so an hour didn't help us and we weren't able to do our planned yoga session on the platforms. There were four platforms so we really didn't understand why we couldn't use one of the three that were available but decided not to let that ruin our day and went and did yoga on the cabin's patio. All in all if you are looking for a Glamping location River Mountain is your spot you won't be disappointed so give them a try! read more
